Hermes is a terrible company; I've only recently discovered this particular video and in fact how Hermes operates as a company. The fact that their 'self employed' workers are being paid 50p means there isn't any incentive to actually deliver the parcels, which is what's happening to me at the moment. They claim that they 'attempted to deliver' on their websites yet I know this to be false as I was home on those days. Don't support Hermes.
This is what happens when tight consumers expect cheap, universal delivery charges and free returns. I say employ the couriers directly, put up prices to cover the cost and if consumers don't like it they can get off their arse and go to the shops instead.
