Siddharta Gautama was a Buddha because he achieved a level of Buddha. He was the first and that's why we (the tradition) call him so. Also Ram Bomjon said he hasn't achieved the level of Buddha. He said himself:
"Tell the people not to call me a Buddha. I don't have the Buddha's energy. I am at the level of a rimpoche."
He cannot be the reincarnation of Siddharta, but there is a possibility that he'll be a Buddha one day. And I hope he will... : )
The word Buddha is misused and "God" is oversued sometimes. However, there are other nouns describing a person who reaches enlightenment but not yet a Buddha: Arahant, Boddhisattva, Saint. These saints have much longer lifespan than ours, but for them to become a Buddha, they must perform acts of generosity, compassion, sacrifices in the utmost primordial wisdom. Then they again meditate to become a Buddha if they wish. Some like to be just Boddhisattva to help sentient beings.
The "Buddha Boy"'s meaning is the Boy who is following the Buddha method of getting free from garvity of Greed, Hatred, Delusion. Then upon reaching englightenment around 2011 or 2012 (Myan Calendar) the "Buddha Boy" will emerge and salvage us from this samsara world.

That's exactly right. The boy hears the bell but doesn't know which church. The Buddhas don't reincarnate, by definition. That's why they're Buddhas and not mortals. And secondarily, the historic Buddha clearly rejected body mortification as detrimental to the enlightenment.

I have a question about Nirvana...I watched a movie about a monk who reached nirvana I think... he was just siting there like this kid is....so the monks had a ceremony were they put a white rag over the enlightened ones head and left him alone.

well, i cant really say why he left for a while. i dont think you have to be honored after you reach enlightenment. since you are enlightened, you have no necessity for such things.
i am beggining to understand this idea of nirvana now, but i am getting my insight from ancient chinese texts, not buddhist texts.
Nirvana means to extingush the flame....we are a collective of creations of the mind. We are always anchored in the spirit you are a collective reflection made by you.
Nirvana is not a place you go to you are already there....it means to extinguish the perception that you are actually here! The longer we claim we are here the longer we suffer...when we dump the ego we set the reflection to Divine Mind mode to where everything is bliss and knowledge permeates....good luck with your reflection!
Nirvana is a state where one understands the true nature and reason of our existence. By this the person understands that everything in this world is just an illusion, so desiring for these materials (which are not real at all) n suffering for them is useless. This understanding aligned with higher conscious energy, makes the existence of that person in this world meaningless and so he escapes the cycle of birth and death. He then returns to where he really belongs (may be a state of oneness)

Buddhism is so beautiful.I am so much in love with the whole concept of being one with the universe. It is Buddhism and Hinduism(up to a extent)..which has given every human being a "chance" to be God Himself.There is nothing external , everything is internal and meditation will take you the depths of esctacy.
Buddha and other bodishattvas such as Quan Yin vow to reincarnate until all beings attain enlightenment. Buddhism is the belief that the temple of God is within and everything is interconnected by the universal Chi, unlike Christians, Muslims, etc., who created a God who resides in "heaven" or "up there" or somewhere other than in themselves.

They mean enlightenment.

I have a question about Nirvana...I watched a movie about a monk who reached nirvana I think... he was just siting there like this kid is....so the monks had a ceremony were they put a white rag over the enlightened ones head and left him alone.
Maybe buddha boy disappeared because he really did reach nirvana and was taken to a temple to be honored.

Nirvana is a state where one understands the true nature and reason of our existence. By this the person understands that everything in this world is just an illusion, so desiring for these materials (which are not real at all) n suffering for them is useless. This understanding aligned with higher conscious energy, makes the existence of that person in this world meaningless and so he escapes the cycle of birth and death. He then returns to where he really belongs (may be a state of oneness)

All our institutions of economy and education, we have "progressed" ourselves away from truth and toward materialism and to utter dependence on these things. This 'Buddha Boy', whose name is Banjan, can be a Buddha but it will be through the Buddha Gautama's teachings. Remember: 'Buddha' is only a title meaning 'awakened one'. There is Buddha-essence in all of us, and anyone can reach Buddhahood.
