@callahaine100 I believe that if he has metal soles in his shoes then he would be able to manipulate it so he can lift himself, so he's not actually flying he's just moving the metal that's in his shoes. I think that's how he has always been able to do it, even in the comics.
At least for Azazel they did get one thing right about how an EVIL teleporter would fight: Grab the victim, teleport to high altitude, and simply drop them, brutal, efficient, and mostly imossible to defend...
There were a couple brilliant gems involving Magneto in this film, but they actually made Xavier weaker than he is supposed to be. He could have simply "froze" or mind controlled the guards in some of the scenes, without the theatrics.
Thank you so much for this wonderful video Sir Ian Mckellen and Michael Fassbender are two of a list of my favourite actors and they both play Magneto in X-men. Thank you again and much love :D
@missxavier100 It`s Erik . He`s Polish . Stryker mistakenly used the American spelling of Lehnsherr`s first name due to being a redneck Military scientist who likely didn`t know how to spell it any other way .
This is terrible music for Magneto. He's not some dork in a Ferrari heading to the club to dance and meet chicks. I will give you credit for the video quality and editing skills. I'm just sayin the music sucked, so I'm the 1st thumbs-down.
@jamesonberthiaume Indeed, btw I'm a big fan of Ian Mckellen, but even so Fassbender fits in this role perfectly. If only the movie was more serious, more dark and wasn't made like a another teen movie(First class is a nice teeny movie, nothing more),Fassbender could get an Oscar nominee.
@dobrev1dqd Yeah I'll agree, I'm wondering if they tried to appeal to a bigger audience though, trying to reach out to those who aren't X-men savvy, maybe that's why it felt kinda "teeny." I certainly hope Fassbender at least gets a nomination. Out of the X-men movies this one was my favorite, and he had a lot to do with that.
@dobrev1dqd "First class is a nice teeny movie, nothing more) Sorry I have to disagree. In a movie thats first few scenes take place in a concentration camp with themes of racism/discrimination and dealing with potential nuclear annihilation, I hardly think so.
@TRANZEURO When i say teeny movie I really don't mean it is a movie about teens. It may be about nukes,Third world war, facism, etc. What I really mean is that the movie is not serious, there is no gore. It is just like the most comic based movies. Did you see any blood in the movie? No. All their powers were shown like it's absolutely normal to move object with you mind, to fire red exploding circles from your body(which was the most lame mutant in the movie for me) or to have dragonfky wings.--->
@dobrev1dqd Okay good enough points, but are you really an X-MEN fan ? For these characters it IS absolutely normal to move objects with your mind or to have dragonfly wings. The character with the red exploding circles is Havok, who in the books and the cartoons is Cyclops' younger brother. In the books his powers aren't depicted exactly the same.He usually has his arms outstreched with the hot plasma energy shooting from his hands. This is usually shown as thinner white or yellow circles. Not
@TRANZEURO In The Ultimate Comics , Havok/Alex Summers is Scott`s older brother . In " First Class " , he`s apparently Scott`s father , making him a merger of Havok and Corsair . This is not the first time The Films have done this . In X2 , Prof. Thorton & Rev. William Stryker were merged into Col. William Stryker Jr. His son had the first name & powers of Mastermind . In XMOW , Victor Creed had elements of Dog Logan .
@dobrev1dqd (cont) thick red hula hoops. He also doesn't have to "dance" for his powers to stir up. That's something the movie came up with. I love the character, and I think it's a very cool power actually.Havok is one of my favorite X-MEN. You are right no blood in the movie, but there is only so much you can do with a PG-13 rating.
@TRANZEURO PG-13 is the right word.Just imagine if we got an darker X-men movie, wouldn't that be cool huh?Like Watchmen(i didn't like the characters at all, X-men universe owns) or Sin city. X-men got a huge potential I think. And I am not a real fan yeah, but I like it.
@TRANZEURO My point is that that the movie is for teenagers not because of the themes mentioned in it but because of the way the they brought to the public.Nothing personal if you are a teen(im kinda teen too) but the movie is supposed to be watched by a larger audience. Have you seen the first movie Narnia? Those kids were having their house attacked by german planes, but so what, the rest of the movie was like "Wow those animals are fighting Yeah! But is this really cool?"
@dobrev1dqd Yes Fassbender was amazing in it. Although I doubt he'll get an oscar for the reasons you and the other commentor already mentioned about the movie not being depicted in the most realistic manner (for the majority of the film) I think however that many people did acknowledge that he was definitely the standout actor in this film. He was noticed. There is already even talk about him being the next James Bond.
@dobrev1dqd Bear in mind they were essentially playing two different characters. McKellan's is the worldly, wise, almost fatherly Magneto. Fassbender was the young, full-of-rage Magneto. Both, of course, were ruthless. Each was brilliantly cast for the phase of Magneto's life they portrayed.

@callahaine100 if you are a magnet, you can attract metal or repulse it (depending on the weight). If you repel it smoothy, you levitate

@dobrev1dqd Yeah, no offense to McKellen, he's a great actor, but Fassbender was brilliant.

@TRANZEURO Um , actually I noticed three major scenes with blood :
When Shaw( under his " Dr. Klaus Schmidt " alias ) killed Erik`s mother , there was blood on the Nazi coin
When Erik stabbed the one Nazi and pulled the other`s tooth out in the French bar , there was blood on the knife and tooth
When Erik pushed the Nazi coin through Shaw`s head , there was blood on it
