  • i love em both... on average mma has better fights but when u get a great boxing fights... oh man they just seem to be better than the best mma fights... my opinion though

  • The Brock Lesnar comment is absurd. Yes, the man was cut from the Vikings. You forget to mention that he almost made a pro-NFL team without ever having played football!

You also fail to mention that, prior to MMA, Brock Lesnar was an NCAA wrestling champion. To say that he lacked "athletic prowess" is an absurdity and discredits your entire argument. His athletic prowess just happens to be in wrestling than other sports. I'll go a step further. The guy is a freak athlete.

  • From looking at the top rated comments it looks like boxing fans are searching youtube for boxing vs mma debates again.....

  • To all the boxing fanboys, please go hit the bag that dosen't hit back some more. Meanwhile, us real fighters, known as mma fighters, are training with REAL people, and don't bother with bags like pussies. Please, get the fuck out and leave the real fighting to us, kids.

  • @cocotiger77 and what are u doing here??

  • I'm almost 60 yrs old. I'm 6'4" 270lbs and I lift weights 3 to 4 days a week. At my age I'm far more concerned about how I look and perform for the ladies. Boxing and MMA are great but if you get a big head and start beating people up in the real world you will end up in the after world. I've devoted my entire existence to making money and servicing the ladies. Oh well, somebodies got to do it, why not me.

  • boxing is not loosing fans there just watching mma and boxing and boxing produces 10x more money a year than mma and have alot more fighters boxing is not dead it just doesnt have an explosive fighter give it a couple of years and it will be back up and mma wont die either its up there to just another sport like boxing

  • Boxing and MMA are both great sports.

Many MMA fans are complete retards who talk shit about everyother sport.

Go on a MMA forum and u'll see some threads of assholes, taking piss out of boxing,Football, soccer, baseball, basketball. Its rediculous, most of these sports arn't even related yet dumbasses would rather diss another sport than talk about their own.

Now there are alot of great MMA fans, who know what they are talkin about, too bad they are over shadowed by the loudmouth retards .

  • fuck boxing who got somthing to say

  • freddie roach a boxin coach even said its easier for a mma guy to go into boxing than vice versa

  • Why is a heavy weight in MMA limited to a weight of 265lbs. The answer is very simple. Because the skill level and the rules are basicly anything goes you could take a very strong and big person like a sumo wrestler and put them in with a 220 lb MMA fighter and lets see how that turns out. Put boxing gloves on that same sumo wrestler and put him in with a 220 boxer obeying the rules of boxing and lets see if his superior weight is going to lead him to victory over a professional boxer. NOT.

  • @Raymondsoutherland There isn't enough skilled super heavyweight fighters in MMA yet to create an entire division. Samoan & sumo alike have dabbled in MMA, most had limited success if any in MMA. If you put a sumo against Cain, Overeem or Carwin in a K-1 or MMA match they would get KO'ed in the first round. KOTC has the only super heavyweight division I believe & Esteves Jones is their current SHW champion.

  • Do you think someone like say Shaq would fare better as a boxer or MMA fighter in say 3 months of training. The skill level of a boxer is greater than that of a MMA fighter. As far as which sport would win that is a stupid question. Suppose I took someone who was a fast runner but who had never played soccer but I said you can play on the soccer team AND YOU CAN USE YOUR HANDS. Do you think that person would score. Stupid question, huh. So is the comparison question between the two sports.

  • @Raymondsoutherland instead of bashing sports like that why dont you try training in a MMA gym for 3 months and step inside a cage and compare that to 3 months in a boxing gym then fight in a ring...you cant learn much in 3 months of MMA training

  • Do you think someone like say Shaq would fare better as a boxer or MMA fighter in say 3 months of training. The skill lever of a boxer is far greater than that of a MMA fighter. As far as which sport would win that is a stupid question. • Actually boxing is a superior sport to MMA. In MMA they have a weight class of 265 lbs and up, why? Because the reality is that I could take a NFL defensive lineman at about 350lbs, train him for about 3 months, put him in with a 265lbs JJ guy and lets see if the JJ guy can get him on the ground or beat him into submission. MMA has a much lower skill level than boxing. That same 350lb lineman is not going to beat a skilled boxer despite the superior size and weight. Boxing is endurance and skill

  • 55000 Tickets sold in Toronto for ufc 129!! Need I say more??

  • i Love the 2 man

  • how do u guys now know this kind of stuff? its common sense

  • for me being 5'7 I can t box guys who are more than 6'1 as they have a big advantage... in MMA when I fight huge guys I don t care as I either kick them or I put them on the ground and job done. Thats why I prefer MMA it s for everybody. No as many restrictions

  • Also, what is funny, most of MMA fans bash boxing that it's too one-dimensional and boring to watch, and they claim that it's grappling/wrestling/submission fighting which advantages MMA over boxing. But as soon as the fight goes to the ground a great portion of the audience starts to "boo"! :-))

  • this is basically NBA vs NFL there totally different sports. Though i will say boxing is a science and mma is more for athleticism.

  • This video & comparison is just stupid. Ur just feeding all the dumb ppl who ask the question or argue over it.

  • if your implying that i don't have a any background in this sport from my childhood your your very wrong actually. you don't know me , how do you just assume? i have had martial arts experience starting when i was ten, i was in tai kwon do and i was a blue belt in kenpo karate which was enough to establish experience and i wrestled in high school as well.your telling me i dont have a backbone for this sport? im 6 feet 215lbs and i kick well over six feet, i wonder why? lol

  • internet bullies don't make physical threats to people, they mind fuck people being grammar Nazis trying to belittle peoples grammar. which im a perfect target for lol.i would love to smash some of them as well.also saying i play to much of call of duty like im some supposedly burnout and game geek with no physical ability is what you were implying im sure.whos the internet bully now lol.im quit humble actually and i love everybody.I just hate when people talk hardball when they don't even play.

  • Im not bullying you at all, in fact i hate bullies.your just irritating because you seem to think by researching somehow makes you a martial arts expert? its also irritating to hear for someone who has so much to say about this sport with no training.i hate people like that, that right there makes me want to fight people like that,i guarantee any person in this sport would agree.regardless as far as my career goes, i see it going further than mr 5'11 170 with "iv done some mma before."

  • @johnmkrs83 Again you've done nothing for your sport but make it look complpetley dumb. Again, I'm an MMA fan, but it is getting silly. In the days when they almost banned it, it was my dream for it to become a sportlike today. Too many personalitites fucked that up like koscheck. As far as the more dangerous sport it has been proven, it's boxing. I've followed both sports for a long time, and know which is more dangerous.

  • @vstrap999 Yes boxing can have some bad fights just like MMA. the past 2 years I have not seen a fight that was exciting. Reason being it's second rate skill. Boxing maybe one dimensiona, but the comp has been doin it since they were six. most MMA have not been doing it that long, and come from a base like wrestling a trying to complete the circle. So they have rudimentary skills on their feet. And MMA you train for two years and get a WEC title shot??? WTF like Dominick Cruz

  • @vstrap999 who comes from a boxing background. It don't its easier to go pro in MMA than boxing. And much easier to get a belt. REad randinous comments below. That will give you a clearer picture with stats on who is watching what.

  • ok, ill start off by saying im more of an mma fan than boxing fan. BUT mma fighters go to boxing trainers for training. all the sports should be up and running and let the fans do the voting and no dictatorship.

  • im a boxing fan straight up mma or ufc rather seems to be more of a side show gimmick bring back pride ufc sucks

  • @southernantivirus I recall MMA star Don Frye getting his ass kicked in a street fight by a boxer. Also if it's so gay why do boxers make more money and put asses in seats at the cowboys stadium??? I like both and boxing is not useless.

  • @vstrap999 dude that was when he was old already i would of like to see that idiot try that on a young don frye and besides he was drunk and he had ground and pounded his ass before they stood them up

  • @vstrap999 dude boxing has been around way longer than mma if mma was around as long has it would making 5 times what boxing is making and mma is growing boxing is losing fans

  • @vstrap999 He also dropped the boxer first, and then it was broken up enough for the boxer to get up and hit him. Just saying, though it has nothing to do with this argument. It's the fighter, the situation, etc, not what "style" he fights

  • why is this video even up? anyone that knows even a little bit about boxing or mma knows that they're two different sports.

  • @virginiabjj It's a valid argument about which is a more entertaining or a better sport. The early years of UFC, Extreme Fighting, and WVC and IVC were the better years of MMA. But like the man said during that time boxing was in a dump. Now I am watching more boxing than MMA. The talent is really good right now from middle down to fly weight.

  • You know what is better than box and mma?? a combination of the two sport. learn box and mma fight style

  • but, that doesnt mean that i cant appreciate a sport that differentiates by rules. for example, i love watching amazing boxers box, i said i prefer mma, that doesnt mean that i dont like boxing.

one of my fav things to watch is talented kung fu matches. the rules make the art inapplicable to mma, but the rules give it another dimension. now those flashy kciks that 'dont work' work perfectly.

its all art, its all to be appreciated, finding excuses not to like something is never a good thing.

  • i deal with this argument every day, not with fighting, but with music. there are so many technical guitarists out today and i myself am a technical guitarist. many people love the technical stuff, many people dont understand it and claim music 'isnt supposed to be technical'. you always hear it from blues guys. which is confusing because i like blues and simpler music too

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. what speaks to yto the viewer? i prefer mma because i now understand what is going on

  • One thing about MMA is you will never get the best guys from the disciplines. The best fighters in the sport stay in their given art and climb their ladder.

  • @HaloedG WHich often pay more too

  • I like mma more because you oftern get people with different styles matched up. Like one guy is a black belt in Jiu Jitsu and has good boxing skills where as this other guy was a champ at kickboxing and did wrestlig in college. Even though I love boxing I just don't see that stylistic match up you get in mma... plus I love headkick knockouts

  • @PremiumNetwork ya they are similiar, boxing is MMA but MMA is not boxing. its like the square being a rectangle but a rectangle not being a square

  • @southernantivirus I like boxing but MMA is much more exciting, I love the versatility of exciting fights in MMA, one match you have a total brawl another you may have Cheal Sonnen pounding on sum1 relentlessly, or you have a back and forth grappling match, etc, etc. Boxing is a great aspect to have in MMA because you get really good on the most accurate and common stike, its like getting real good at simple but effective moves, like the armbar in jiu jitsu or the DL TD in wrestling w/ h. nelson

  • @southernantivirus that is a very biased thing to say. You need to have some good technique with your hands. Because if your a wrestler and you cant dominate your opponnent on the ground then you have a total matchup problem for the wrestler, great example is Lesnar vs Cain. It works the other way around to if you have great standup but poor ground game because then you have Couture vs Toney. Boxing legend is just walked though because he has 0 ground game against sum1 with 30 years of wrestling

  • I do find UFC entertaining, however I find it difficult to take it seriously as a sport because there are nobody fighters who could be really amazing who have to fight like 10 fights before they get a shot to become a contender. Whereas someone like Brock Lesnar could come fight two fights, then get a shot at the championship. It's all about hype in UFC. It's more akin to professional wrestling (only they're actually fighting).

  • Lesnar probably would have been champ a lot longer if he had to earn his fights.

In boxing, even when an ex-champ comes back from retirement, or injury, he still needs to work his way through the ladder to get another title shot.

  • @bobby666x You are right!! I used to love MMA, and now it seems they let anyone in. For example, a fighter make his debut and he already has a nick name??? wtf In boxing all of the talent has been doing the sport since they were six. In MMA, like Dominick Cruz two years work and he is a champ (WEC)

  • I LIKE BOTH. BOXING IS ALIVE AND WELL, IT DIDN´T DIE BECAUSE OF TYSON, HOW STUPID.

  • I actually used to watch boxing before I caught on to mma, both are really really tough sports, and its really hard to compare the two.

  • There needs to be a point penalty for laying and praying sum1 in MMA, or it should be a $1000 per ten strikes you land or a $5000 bonus for finishing the opponent

  • @jagdjohn96 we should have Shao Kahn just hanging out, and when one guy is dazed by a well connected strike he yells out "FINISH HIM!"

  • @bobby666x lol fatality

  • Dogpile*** damn iPhone tries to be smarter than me

  • MMA has a lot of success because a wrestling fan can watch a grappling match or a jiu jitsu fan can watch submissions, or a Muay Thai fan can watch punches, kicks, knees, and elbows in a fight and on top of all that, MMA has 5+ fights for $45 as opposed to one 5 second fight or a 12 round snore fest for $45-$60. Not to mention all of MMAs good fighters dogpipe up in the UFC, so there is no "if Muhammad Ali fought James Toney".

  • @jagdjohn96 You are talking about bargain now. stop being cheap!

  • Boxing is the only sport dominated by small businesses, football has the NFL, basketball has the NBA, Hockey had the NHL, and MMA has the UFC

  • @jagdjohn96 Are you stupid or blind? Take a look at all those stupid banners and advertisements all over the octagon. That looks like small business infestation. Boxing has large commissioners like IBC that involve 11 different countries. MMA has UFC and Strikeforce, honestly I like Strikeforce better. Once the Mexicans start dominating the sport, and it is happening now you will all be back to boxing.

  • @vstrap999 WTF are you talking about? Your bringing up shit about me from 4-5 pages ago

  • LA IGNORANCIA ES ATREVIDA.

  • to me boxing is the classier sport...im a big mma fan but there really is nothing like a top of the line boxer showing the world what your hands can really do....boxing to me the more serious sport and boxers seem to be a higher caliber of fighters than an mma fighter....and dont bring up courure vs james because we all know tony was clearly not taking the fight seriously and didnt really care...

  • boxing vs mma? thats a personal choice. why not say baseball vs boxing or ice skating vs mma. The comparison that people are making when they say boxing vs mma is moronic. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SPORTS!!!! There is not a boxer to compare to an mma fighter and vise verse.

  • Don't subscibe to this guys dipshit page. He doesn't know shit. He's never boxed before. MMA I have respect for. But look at the reality of things, when they box they look silly when they claim to be a black belt in jujitsu they don't even try to submit the fighter. Most of the MMA fights are boring to boxing fans just like boxing is boring to mma fans. worldtravelerman is stupid and is a moron. Period.

  • Dude your a fucking stupid. ODL, Mosely, Roy Jones, Holyfield, Riddick bowe, all still made boxing popular. Stupid bitch, MMA is too fucking easy, Brock would never become a world champ after 3 fights so don't talk talent dumb ass bitch.

  • martial arts were made 4 war, when warfare modernized martial arts needed 2 change so they wouldnt desapear, boxing wasnt made 4 war, muay thai, judo, japanese jui jitsu, even wrestling, TKD....... so that leads 2 one conclusion, the style that includes the most deadly war styles, and this style is not boxing

  • @PremiumNetwork yeah thats a problem right now they need to change the rules to rly make sure wrestlers make a fight an actual fight not a game

  • BOXING IS A SPORT NOWADAYS AND MMA IS ACTUAL FIGHTING (MEANING ITS MORE EFFECTIVE IN ANY TYPE OF FIGHT THAN BOXING)

  • @18PANA yes, boxing is and as always been a sport, mma is a modern form of an old brazilian style of ring/street fighting, the current mma sport, is full of verym good boxers n kickboxers that had 2 change their style 2 necessities, ( Cro Cop, Overeem, ) or graplers that changed 2 striking with time, ( carwin, nogueira, belforte, ...)

  • @PremiumNetwork HAHA! personal insults.

You are a typical brainless boxing fan who can't handle an opinion different than your own.

Have fun watching you dying sport.

  • @PremiumNetwork I don't because it's boring but almost every fight I catch on tv or the pub goes to the decision.

  • @PremiumNetwork I'd recommend you don't watch wrestling then.. if you're implying that MMA is full of wrestling, maybe, whatever

  • mma because you can do more than just straight punches hooks and uppercuts.

  • couldn't agree more with you. boxing is kinda boring. it's a sport that only focuses on one aspect of fighting. MMA is a much better sport and a bigger science than boxing. no disrespect to boxing but i think a boring sport.

  • Can't we just live with both sports, I like them both.

  • marvin hagler tommy hearns sugar ray leanard evander holyfield etc etc etc, lots of other popular boxers than Tyson, come on. You must not have been a big fan.

  • @BigBadassR I was going to subscribe but now Im thinking you just like to hear the sound of your own voice. Anybody who has nerve to say boxing fans in the 80s only wanted to watch Tyson obviously doesnt know what hes talking about.

  • James Toney is representative of all boxers to me. It's just a slugfest for idiots. 12 rounds of smacking something in the gut and face. 1 2 3 4 lead cross hook uppercut that's it. MMA is an art. I've done judo, jiu-jitsu muay thai and kung fu, and tried boxing once at my gym. I left halfway through and just went to work the bags, fucking boring. It's also much more dangerous long-term apparently. And for its supporters who say there's a lot of work and skill behind it, same goes for fishing

  • @smokenfly514

You mean to say YOUR experience with boxing is boring.

  • @smokenfly514 you just sucked at boxing and went to where you can escape on the ground. Yes boxing is a more dangerous sport than MMA. Since 1980 200 boxers have died from injuries. since 1994 how many MMA competitors have died? 3, so that proves boxing is the ultimate contact sport. It may not be as complex as MMA because there are so many aspects of offense. But boxing limit is what makes it complex as well movement, footwork, punching angles, and getting hit repeatedly to the head.

  • @vstrap999 It's more dangerous so it's better, right? I'm down with sword fighting without armor then lool

  • @smokenfly514 Like I said it's the ultimate contact sport.

  • @vstrap999 no sorry it's just for dimwits like you or James Toney who enjoy smashing others and getting smashed in the face themselves 200 times in 4 different ways in under 30 minutes, or who get amused by watching this kind of idiocy. No wonder so many have brain damage

  • The thing alot of people get wrapped up in is that boxing was around for hundreds of years, it only really started getting marketed huge in the 50s however. So with big marketing from 1950 to 2010, that mean 60 years of boxing. MMA has been around since 1970s and is being marketed in 1990, that is 20 years of MMA. Give them another forty years and boxing will be gone forever.

  • @LukeWhitaker to say the truth MMA has been around since 1930 in Brazil, where it started

  • @leokarulos USA and Brazil have the best fighters Ive noticed, makes being from the UK seem really lame.

  • You forgot to mention Muhammad Ali he also gave the boxing sport a name.

  • You know everyone on on YT gets 15 mins now...right

  • Maybe you have never been to a boxing match, but there's what is called a "main event" in boxing...this is the LAST fight. There are maaaany fights before this main event. In boxing, there is not just ONE style...u aren't just going to see 2 guys goin around in circles & jabbing for 12 rounds. There are boxers, brawlers, counterpunchers, etc. & all those fights BEFORE the main event have fighters which take on one of these styles. As far as I'm concerned, i'd rather see a KO than a submissions

  • @OMIYOURHOMIE You don't know jack shit about MMA if you think submissions are more commom than KO's.

  • @joeandray in fact most common r decision XD

  • @joeandray mma would be better if there was more standup as opposed to ground

  • @OMIYOURHOMIE There wasnt always cards, alot of the timebecause its so long it would only be one.

  • lol well i guess it's safe to take this vid down off you main page. Randy answered this question last week...you do good reviews btw

  • ...it's just that certain sports favor and draw certain types of athletes and certain personalities. take triathlon for example. these guys are typically very independent minded and wouldn't fit a team sport very well. but they can push their bodies well beyond any other. at the same time these guys tho mentally very tough wouldn't last the politics and other dynamics of a team sport.

  • great commentary as usual. tho i don't agree with you on ball sport athletes being the best athletes of them all. its all about where your talent lies. we have seen former football and baseball athletes failing in mma. I also challenge any great football/baseball/basketball player to be a tour de france level pro cyclist for example. it's simply not possible....

  • James Toney...PWNED ! Tapout Toney flat on his back , he fell down like humpty dumpty.

  • MMA is the only sport thats getting better instead of worse.

  • The general argument from MMA fans is that MMA is more complex/requires many more techniques. But is it really better to watch because of all these dimensions? You do a poll and ask the general public: would they prefer to see a knockout or a submission - knockout would win by a mile IMO. Since you get more knockouts in boxing, isn't it fair to say the majority of the public prefers boxing?

  • @jojojshmo Hardly any boxing matches end in a KO.

  • @jojojshmo if u asked the public would u like too see guys getting punched in the head knock out or would u like to see them get kicked in the head slamed on the head or flying kneed to the face or on the ground having there face punched in lesnar style i think they would prefer mma

  • @jojojshmo Randy Couture recently proved MMA holds the superior athletes. And your comment shows how little you know about MMA. MMA knockouts are far more common than submissions. MMA is alot harder to learn and get good at. With boxing, you always know what he's gonna come at you with...fists, with MMA he could come out with fists, feet, knees, elbows, a take down of any kind, etc. Learn your stuff before you talk shit you biased prick.

  • @joeandray m8 dont waste ur time with these people, most r boxing fanatics, and dont like 2 see new thinks, i growed up watching Vale Tudo, even before the UFC, is true the sport changed a lot, 2 adapt 2 current necessities, but u miss old skool

  • @joeandray No need for name calling, we're having a discussion here. Can you give me some stats showing there are more knockouts than submissions/decisions in MMA? I don't dispute MMA is harder to learn, I'm learning it myself. I'm hardly biased, I'm a fan of both sports. Unlike the worldtraveller man - who is clearly just a fan of MMA. But I don't enjoy watching "lay and pray" fighters in MMA, do you?

  • @jojojshmo

Boxing bores people. Why? Because it's boring. Look at the ratings. Boxing was big back in the day because it was really the only big "fighting" sport. Boxing is declining more and more every year. MMA? Going up, sir.

  • @Langen09 Boxing boring? Sure you get boring boxing fights just like you get boring MMA fights (lay n pray). But how can you make a baseless statement that all boxing is boring? Have you even seen Arturo Gatti fight? Manny Pacquiao? Andre Berto? Most MMA fighters are big fans of boxing too. I watch all the combat sports I can get my hands on - boxing, UFC cards, strikeforce cards, bellator, K1.....I suggest you try actually watching some boxing before you label it as boring.

  • @jojojshmo

That's what I TRIED doing. I've TRIED watching boxing. I find it boring, and so does a LARGE margin of fight fans. That's why it's ratings have DECREASED.

  • @jojojshmo umm lets see.. so ur gonna say that Boxing is a bigger? more popular sport? hahahahahahhaajh

  • @jojojshmo No because when you add the word submission you cancel out boxing because boxing has no submissions.

  • @jojojshmo The facts are more mma fights end via ko or tko then boxing, especially among high level competitors.

  • @bromor124 How did you work that one out as fact? The champs: GSP: 20 wins, 8 by ko/tko (40%), Anderson Silva: 27 wins, 15 by ko/tko (55%), Mauricio Rua: 19 wins. 16 by tko/ko (84%), Frankie Edgar: 13 wins, 2 by ko/tko (15%), Cain: 9 wins, 8 by ko/tko (89%). Cain and Rua, for sure they're knockout guys. But 3 of 5 champs have poor knockout ratios. Compare that to boxing champs who have way more fights as well, so you'd expect their percentages to be lower. But they aren't. FACT. lol

  • @bromor124 Boxing champs:

Wlad Kiltschko: 55 wins 49 by ko (89%)

    Marco Huck : 30 wins 23 by ko (77%)

    Hopkins 51wins 32 by ko (63%)

Lucian Bute: 27 wins 22 by ko (81%)

    Pacquiao: 52 wins 38 by ko (73%)

    Marquez: 52 wins 38 by ko (73%)

    The numbers don't lie buddy.

  • @bromor124 You are right, and there is a really good reason for that. MMA fighters have glass jaws compared to boxers. Boxers are paid to take punches to the face and can endure more blows. There is no MMA fighter that can take the punishement Margarito took and keep going.

  • @vstrap999 bullshit, when your in a mma atmosphere all the time, you will understand.people bad mouth this sport all the time and nor do they want the truth.mixed martial artists are athletes of the future.its like comparing a soldier from ww2 to a modern soldier of today.who will last longer at war?a man with a single rifle?or a man with a machine gun, grenade launcher,shotgun,2 pistols, grenades and full armor? btw,you cant compare a boxers chin to a mma fighters chin,16oz vs 7oz gloves, mma wins!

  • @johnmkrs83 I've trained in mma and I am a fan. The sport makes itself look bad, just take a look at the ultimate fighter and how the live shows are produced. Your commentators are cursing on air!!!??wft MMa fighters are a athlete for the future, but not "the" future athlete. Now your comparison to soldiers is ridiculous. History has shown the best weapons don't necessarily win. That's why we are still in Afghanistan. Boxing gloves get harder as you sweat. The more pads the harder the glove.

  • @johnmkrs83 Have you seen the bareknuckle MMA fights? They usually get stopped from cuts or the guys pusses out. knock outs are not in abundance. The glove protects the hand not the head. do the science and it is much safer with a smaller glove or no glove at all. If you want further evidence look at the fatalities. solid proof right there.

  • @vstrap999 you don't have to tell me lol, i dont need to watch mma fights to know. i do it..every day. and for your to sit here and tell me getting hit with a boxing glove is much worse than a mma glove you must be on acid. iv been hit with both during beatdowns in class.I can tell you right now,id rather be hit with a boxing glove than a mma glove, a 16oz is a bigger surface can cause a daising affect more than mma glove, but a 7oz glove breaks bones much easier.mma glove is way worse dude lol

  • @vstrap999 a mma fighter is like having a whole squad at your service is what i ment. a simple unit, has a shot gunner for close quarters,a sniper for enemies from a distance, machine gunner for multiple enemies, and last a mine specialist if he gets to close to the base. unit vs solider.10-1 the unit wins every time. BOXER=shot-gunner,MAUY THAI=sniper K/M=machine gunner BJJ=mine specialist, messing with a bjj guy is like walking through mine field. quickest way 2 lose a limb, now that's MMA people

  • @johnmkrs83 Obviously someoneplays too much Call Of Duty, and you missed my analogy. It went right over your head. That daising effect you are talking about is your brain rattling and that is far more dangerous than a cut or broken jaw. Also your seven ounce glove may cause more cuts but bone breaking I need evidence for that. Atleast I can say recently that both Ricky Hatton and Antonio Margarito had fractured bones in their face with bigger gloves. Evidence that a boxer has a harder punch.

  • @johnmkrs83 In boxing if the fight has not stopped, you are still standing. You have to take more punishment to that area. You can't fall down and hold. I also think you are missing my point. I agree MMA is more practical for protecting yourself in real life, but these are sports we are talking about here. Boxing is more dangerous, exciting, lucrative, classy, established, physically demanding, and the ultimate contact sport as I have clearly stated above. Im fan of both trained in both

  • @vstrap999 im done arguing with you, im sure you know because your a trained mma fighter right? lol i train 6 days a week with instructors that have trained fighters that are in ufc right now, i think they would now forehand before you would. its different when your hands are inside a glove rather on a keyboard. and btw, i love call of duty and i guarantee ill kick you ass on screen as good as i will in real life ;)

  • @johnmkrs83 Now look who is talking shit now! If you are such a trained MMA bad ass, why aren't you fighting? Also don't shut down because you're wrong. I'm arguing valid points with sufficient evidence to back it up, and you are running to your karate instructor like a kid. Don't take yourself too seriously cause you might get your ass kicked.

  • @vstrap999 a pro fight ? your right, ill admit, maybe not ufc,iv done a few smokers at gyms and soon cage titans, im sure you have heard of it now cause you just looked it up. karate? just bjj , wrestling and mauy thai pal, karate doesn't get you by alone in this sport, iv been in this sport year and half, no gi...im sure you know what that means lol...i walk around 225 at 6 feet, im in the 205 weight class, and i have submited gi'd black belts , what does that tell you? ever heard of naga?

  • @johnmkrs83 listen im usually a very humble person and dont like to prey on the weak, but no offense, stop acting like your hard, now i need to shut up you up and put you in your place, im just another number in this sport of mma ill admit, just another average dude in mma, but im willing to bet your life that you will lose against me in a cage fight and a fight on the street. now how does that make you feel.... keyboard warrior?

  • @johnmkrs83 Jesus fucking Christ, your are really brainwashed or just dumb. Here is a little history lesson for your little brain and penis. Remember the days of NHB? Only two rules, no biting or eye gouging, and how many fatalities were there? NONE!! 200 fatalities from 1980 in boxing, and thats a fact. Boxing KO percentage is higher, and if there were no rules you could kick, punch, or choke while the opponent is out.

  • @vstrap999 So your argument of MMA overall a more dangerous sport is ridiculous. Sports analysis for major networks have already declared boxing the more dangerous sport. They used scientific evidence, also MMA was once uncontrolled, and NO FATALITIES!!! You bring no facts, evidence,or valid points. All you bring is what your lil brain spits out your mouth. I'm not even acting hard, maybe smart which looks threatening to you.

  • @vstrap999 Rather than stick to the point all you can talk about is non existent MMA career. I'm 5'11 and 170 lbs. I'm not impress. I've had my ass beat before it's nothing. Bring your ass to some tourneys in south texas and message me. Your ass is trying to be the internet bully, but your just a d-bag just all of the MMA crowd. You forgot something to, when an competitor is KO'd,choked out,or mounted the fight stops. It doesn't keep going. So how do you feel? you've been schooled!!

  • Boxing or mma? This is one stupid fucking question. You do know mma encomposes boxing aswell, right? This is like saying mma is better if you take EVERYTHING else out and just leaving the boxing part to it. How fucking dumb. Of course mma is better

  • It comes down to which one you are a fan of. It's like comparing baseball and basketball because they are both ball sports. They are different sports with different rules. The one that is best is the one you prefer to watch, and different people prefer to watch different sports.

  • As a fan of both sports this guy has several things wrong. He says mma puts on 5 or 6 fights and boxing only puts on one. That's wrong. Boxing cards usually four to six matches per card. There are very exciting and very boring mma matches, and it's the same with boxing. I also think it easier for a lesser mma fighter to pull an upset on a better mma fighter. A bum boxer very rarely pulls an upset on a great boxer, but it is more likely to happen if the bum has 1 punch ko power.

  • MMA = U CAN DIE VERY EASILY SOMEONE CAN UP YOU AND THROW UR HEAD ABOUT FLOOR

  • Quit it with the footwork bullshit. Mma is as real as it gets. I've heard stories bout boxers getting choked out by women in real fights you do what u can 2 win. I like boxing but mma has more to offer money they make dnt mean shit I wanna see a fight!

  • which sport is better is subject only to opinion but which is the more skilled or better fighter isnt a matter of opinion. with all aspects of the fight game mma is without a doubt the better fighters while boxing is only 1 aspect of fighting skill using only the hands. in other words having more tools is better than having less tools but boxing is still a good sport so as far as which is better the the answer would be which do you preffer?!

  • mma rules

  • there is no competition between boxing and mma AT ALL!! boxing is boxing, boxing is about %10 of mma! there is your proof!

  • @chixidix boxing = sport of punching mma = sport of fighting

a lot of techniques you see in boxing can be thrown right out the window when you have to worry about kicks/knees and being taken down and all you are left with is real fighting.

  • @forbesfoofighters : MMA does not = fighting. Fighting = no rules. For example, eye gouging, joint breaks and knees to a downed opponent. These techniques are taught in martial arts catered to street fighting/self defence.

  • @jojojshmo well people who actually know how to fight or who have any honor don't do those things so i'll rephrase, mixed martial arts = as close to a 'real' or 'street' fight as any sport could ever get.

  • It's a matter of preference I think but what I can say that's not an opinion is that MMA is more complex. There are much more possibilities in an MMA match obviously & because of that, the sport is far more dynamic. It's also more enjoyable for some people to watch because it's much more like a real fight (myself included at first). I like that boxing is a focus on one art, so the differences between competitors at a high level can be minute, that leads to great fights. Tyson leaving hurt boxing

  • I'm getting tired of all these fucking "Which is better, MMA or X martial art?". It's the most pointless arguement you can have.

  • @berner So don't watch it. It really is that simple.

  • VAI DAR SEU CÚ ARROMBADO

  • theres no more flare in boxing. theres too many belts at any 1 time in boxing there can be like 3 or more champs in 1 division. its boring sport now. and il be honest in mma its so unpredictable i mean like last week no one would of expected werdum to tap out the unbeaten mosnster fedor

  • my view on this subject is simple i used to love boxing. its gave us some of the greatest athelets and sportsmen ever. but in its current state its dead. it died with tysons carrer. mma is now far more dominant sport more people are trianing in it more people would rather watch mma atleast in my social circles

  • Wait a minute you said the MikeTyson was the person that made boxing big...ARE YOU MAD!"!! There are so many HW's thats are better than him such as Sonny Liston, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Rocky Marciano and Muhammad Ali were all better, it seems you was just a Tyson fan not a Boxing fan, now the HW division is dead BUT you got Mayweather who is holding up the sport and the HW will become the way it was.

  • Boxing is better than MMA. Through my backyard fights on youtube i was invited to many boxing and MMA tournaments throughout the country. Using my boxing i demolish every wrestler, grappler, "submission expert" LOL, all those pussies. I stand 3-0. My boxing career is great, more money and a bigger crowd, I'm 4-0 as an amateur boxer. Boxing takes ten times more endurance and skill, in MMA they always try and take me down and I never get tired cause I always get to lie on them or clinch.

  • @xXCORNNXx haha i watched some of your videos... you must be fighting against wannabe wrestlers or grapplers...i dont know which one of those guys you are but from the videos i watched ( and i watched 4 of them) i never once seen any good takedown offense or defense...there's a difference between a high school junior varsity wrestler and a d1 NCAA Competitor

  • your right man ufc does alot more things than boxing does and thats why prefer mma as well

  • When people try to discuss which sport is better why do the boxing fans always bring up money. Just because the iphone costs a lot of money and everyone has it does not mean its better than my phone that always is reliable.
