hey @outlandishfilms, are there any pause button on that camera??? i also have the same and were having a project that were making a movie and we should pass it on tuesday next week....i want to have some pauses on the video but im still finding the pause button...even my dad dont know where...pls help....tnx ^^
by tha way, cool movie!! i wish that im as expert as you in filming like that! xD
pretty good overall, but I'd say avoid hand-to-hand combat, unless you have stunt guys, or martial arts ninjas.. just looked a bit staged. Wish i had that camera gear though, saving up for a 600d:)
Also, the guy below my first comment, that's is hilarious...outlandishfilms, don't take any criticism from him. No offense honocamptheater but that wasn't really a good way to go about it. I think you guys did a great job and I was impressed with how well you were able to pull off this short with this DSLR. Nice work on avoiding that none fixed aperture (if you're using a kit lens) and rolling shutter. Try not crushing your blacks so much and use a tripod more but other than that great job :)
fantastic effort, pretty decent product, but all-in-all I'm un-impressed.
If you want my full criticism, respond to this message asking for it, and I'll personal message it to you (because there aren't enough available characters in comments)
Also, the action scenes shots don't really match, I mean one second you are a meter away and then you are like 20? Also, the music was really cheesy, to be honest. At 3:33, I really like the lighting you have, it seems very professional. Don't feel offended by my comments, take them as constructive criticism.
As a fellow filmmaker, I can't say I really like this video. It doesn't feel cinematic, it's too blunt, it's too cheesy too. The actor did a horrible job at "acting surprised", and it's too quick. You don't take time for silence, it's like everything happened in six minutes. Also, the flashbacks are unnecessary. I did like the look of the film, however.
@Marco007Marco007 I agree with Marco. I feel the actors did a very bad job. your color grading might be a bit too blue. I like the story at first but the ending seems way too fast.
Very well put together, fight choreography could have been better haha but I was really pulled in to this. Very well scripted, and camera work was spectacular. Kudos!
This is really good. Great use of background music, great acting, fight scene was (ok) and great story.U sh ould enter this in a competition or something.
this is really good, the writting is awsome but the fight scene still looks a little to played out and fake, there are no sounds to make then seem like their hitting each other, but overall, i luvs it
Seriously, Jake, I need more videos like this! This was actually AMAZING and seems like it took a LOT of work, but all your work was definitely worth it! Make more, please! :D
nice video man :) good camerawork and a really gripping yet simple storyline. well written. I make videos with the 550D, check out my latest short "On The Fields We Play". :)
Nice .. Remember it's the talent behind the camera that counts.. D.W.Griffith made enduring classics with just a hand cranked film camera.. and poor quality film stock available at the time.. lol
Wahey a new video!! So happy you have a new one, and it is brilliant too! I love the camera work, the audio, acting it's all brilliant well done jake!! This was a bit like blackboxtv, very good :) good twist too, ;-D
Jake this is absolutely amazing. Your commmitment to film making is brilliant. I literally CAN NOT wait for more videos. This seriously needs more views! Good Luck.

In the chase scene at the beginning. There are too many total compositions. it's like watching the same shot at diffrent places.
You should add some close-ups for more viarity and smoother transitions.
