Though I do not believe they should have killed the snake (you can always tranquilize it and set it free somewhere else) I'm very glad they saved the dog. Most people would have just let go but that shows just how important that dog was. That's sacrifice for a friend, even if not human.

So don't try to talk down to me, and when my dog (a domesticated pet) is eating dry mix food, she will sit and wait for a command to go and eat it, will stop eating if I order her. Animals with a memory span have emotions, my dog will be upset if I have to tell her off, she's excited if I talk to the right voice or mess around with her. I have never seen a snake wag its tail in joy....

I don't hate snakes at all but if I were there hearing the cries of pain from the unlucky dog I wouldn't have any choice but to kill the snake. Although the snake is just doing what it does to survive mans best friend should be protected. After all dogs really do love people. BUT I think if you feel compassion for the dog you would also feel bad about having no choice but to kill another living creature.
