To be able to hear Flo this clearly, made me realize that her vocal style was at least 10 years ahead of this recording. Her voice is so full of soul, and so sultry- it blew me away. What a difference the 70's music scene would have been with her voice to enhance it.

first of all she has been gone for 32 years. yes Diana has a distinct voice, but that was different at the time. if she was a new star today people would probably laugh at her. todays pop is a joke, with the acception of a few artist. and like i said FLo does not have a typical voice. listen to her other sounds, she can church it up when need be and she does a damn good job on ballads. and yes i love Flo so next time you decide to diss her, fans of hers will rip you a new one! I understand her distress. I just personally think that we all should be enjoying the music. To mention Diana in this recording is not necessary as this was not recorded when Flo was a supreme and Diana is not featured on it and no one said that Flo should have been lead as The Supremes anyway.

Her 2 singles with ABC flopped the latter was very strong but due to poor distribution and promotion coupled with the fact that Motown disallowed her from mentioning her SUPREME past the singles went no where. ABC dropped her from the label and after trying to find work elsewhere Flo settled down, then she lost her house, her husband left, her drinking increased and she applied for welfare, she then made a huge comeback but died right before she was tto sign a record deal

I went to see Mary Wilson at Musikfest in Bethlehem Pa and was able to go on stage with her to sing and dance with a few other *soppy souls* it was raining but that did'nt stop the Diva from putting on a geat show and we even got to meet her after the show to have a picture taken and a book signing(Dreamgirls-My Life As A Supreme)

You're right diana's voice was right for the supremes material, but i feel like flo voice was meant for something more than what the supremes material had to offer. I love flo's version of this song but it is below of what flo was capable of doing. I think ABC was not the ideal place for flo. She need to go to a record company who would have catered to her soulful voice.

great moments i agree and i have listened to the album here and there but nothing that jumps out and whacks you right in the face.

She was not right as lead singer but certainly deserved a decent solo career. Look at Etta James, such a great vocalist but to be honest the material she got was poor and so she never was a sbig as she could have been. Anyway, I just thank god that he allowed Florence to bless this earth with her gift, her beauty and THE SUPREMES, I am also happy that lessons can be learnt from her eventful life

Now if the studios would start to remaster and release some of this stuff on dvd. it is hard for me to believe as an Australian that you have such a National Treasure in both Diana and also the Supremes and yet they are seemingly overlooked or overprotected to the extent that we have to view these youtube clips instead of fully fledged dvd's. Flo is an example of "talent" not being in enough in the "star" business. Very fitting song. She may have benefitted from "therapy."

Great interpretation. She sounded so great with the Supremes. Her contribution at "top harmony" greatly aided Diana's "bell-ringing" sound! Berry knew what he was doing in "position" placement of his "Supreme" act. The rest IS history!

It's said that Miss Ballard was never happier than when she toured as a replacement Marvelette. I think had she stayed with them, she'd have been bigger and may be alive today. The phrase, "Get in where you fit in.", may have never been more apt than in her case. I also think that she should have been encouraged to try Broadway, but, hindsight is 20/20, isn't it?
