Silverchair have always changed there style with every album, so it's not that he doesn't give a fuck about his fans anymore, its because he's unwilling to do the same thing twice. My bet is that there next album will be completely different to Young Modern, or anything else we've heard from them.

I heard this song for the first time off this dvd, and i loved it. so i went back got all their albums and heard it off neon ballroom and it was totally differnt it was strait from his soul, it was the best when he sang it back then only because he felt it. I really enjoy every musician's evolution, at least the ones I listen to. Ana's Song is kind of an old song for silverchair. It is amazing that they still play it live, I give them that. I don't mind the change of attitude towards the interpretation, it's only natural that a person grows and leaves his fears behind.

Wow I havent seen what they look like in years. I was supposed to go to a concert during this tour, my friend bought tickets and flew me out for it, but thats when he was really sick and they canceled. I would have perfered this song with less improv.
I love the older stuff as well as the new stuff, however, Daniel destroys the old songs when he performs them now. I understand he is bored, but it is just not the same. My point is simply if you watch daniel perform Ana's song as an example from the comet awards, it is awesome.Back then he sang Ana's song, freak, emotion Sickess etc...far better than he sings those songs today. he often tries to change them up and results it's a lesser performance
I think he is too focused on being a great showman, which he is noticeably better at, but it often comes at the expense of his singing. Again, this is a criticism of how old songs are performed. The new material is great, he aims to keep the songs integrity while maintaining a showmans act, he should do the same for the older songs.Silverchair is all that inspires me for music, when they have a new album i feel more prolific, but I don't get the same excitement from going to their concerts

maybe they 'lost their value' because they were personal confessions of the time he wrote them. just MAYBE he doesn't feel the same way and his music is such a personal expression that it's hard to perform. so he uses sound effects and sings the lyrics differently to escape from the pain of the original. and boredom. atleast he sings it because bottom line is it's his choice and it easily could become another 'tomorrow'.
when i saw them live he played Ana's song the orginal way and he sounded so awesome and the beginging of this one is awesome too, i lyke it a lot both versions, =), his voice sounds so great live =)

Seems that he has lost some of his anger which is good for him as a person, not so good for the song though, it seems so much more real when sung by a deathly skinny, angry Kurt Cobain-looking guy :)

it started with nirvana
and when the movie last days came out and I saw it,it changed my life

I heard this song for the first time off this dvd, and i loved it. so i went back got all their albums and heard it off neon ballroom and it was totally differnt it was strait from his soul, it was the best when he sang it back then only because he felt it. He only sings it know days to keep us the fans happy. Would we still respect daniel if he didnt sing from his heart and soul, even if that means his older songs have a little less meaning. still a great performance. go the chair!

yeah but, you know that's the only thing he can't do man..
I'm happy he still does the song..thatmeans he hasn't changed completely
but nobody forgets how he looked when this song was a hit
so it's very hard for him to stay at the same level like back then
I still like it,and I'm enjoying the new album as well,in the beginning it sounds bad,but eventually you start to accept it,and enjoy the sounds and waves..there are still some badass melodies in those songs!

I really enjoy every musician's evolution, at least the ones I listen to. Ana's Song is kind of an old song for silverchair. It is amazing that they still play it live, I give them that. I don't mind the change of attitude towards the interpretation, it's only natural that a person grows and leaves his fears behind.
I'm very happy for this band, their music makes me happy, all of it.

Wow I havent seen what they look like in years. I was supposed to go to a concert during this tour, my friend bought tickets and flew me out for it, but thats when he was really sick and they canceled. I would have perfered this song with less improv.

I love the older stuff as well as the new stuff, however, Daniel destroys the old songs when he performs them now. I understand he is bored, but it is just not the same. These songs lose their value when they aren't sung as strongly, or with crazy voices. He is so into being a great frontman, he forgot to be a great performer

yes we are. I realize you are the mecca of silverchair fanhood, but it is possible for people to have opinions. John's has stated he gets bored playing the older material, so this isn't exactly revolutionary. My point is simply if you watch daniel perform Ana's song as an example from the comet awards, it is awesome.Back then he sang Ana's song, freak, emotion Sickess etc...far better than he sings those songs today. he often tries to change them up and results it's a lesser performance

I think he is too focused on being a great showman, which he is noticeably better at, but it often comes at the expense of his singing. Again, this is a criticism of how old songs are performed. The new material is great, he aims to keep the songs integrity while maintaining a showmans act, he should do the same for the older songs.Silverchair is all that inspires me for music, when they have a new album i feel more prolific, but I don't get the same excitement from going to their concerts

I wasn't saying that you can't have an opinion, everyone must have one, it's what defines us as real persons. And no, I'm not the mecca of silverchair fanhood, haha. I like their music and admire it but I mainly have this channel to share information with my friends who don't speak English, hence the subtitled videos.

maybe they 'lost their value' because they were personal confessions of the time he wrote them. just MAYBE he doesn't feel the same way and his music is such a personal expression that it's hard to perform. so he uses sound effects and sings the lyrics differently to escape from the pain of the original. and boredom. atleast he sings it because bottom line is it's his choice and it easily could become another 'tomorrow'.
