Now, imagine having to face off against a massive swarm of demons WITHOUT being a super-powered badass.

The very ground would tremble with their advance. You want to turn around and flee, but you know that you'll be trampled if you try. You also know that there are more of them then you could possibly kill.

The wave of hellspawn gets closer and closer...until it splits into two segments and descends on you in a pincer movement...Dozens and dozens of them pounce. You are torn apart in seconds.

Very low poly models. Theres also only like 5-10 frames of animation for each model. Models appear to be about 100-150 polys each give or take. 65000 x 100 = 6.5 to 9 million polys on screen. + 100-250k polys for landscape. Simple textures and lighting. = Very doable on the ps2. It's not too impressive. What impressed me more were the particle effects. eg. the arrows etc. There seems to be tens of thousands on particles going on. Jak 3 pushed 10+ mil polygons with effects.

i have this,and i can assure you, it fucking sucks.it just have no challenge, you can't die even if you stand still; you got just two kind of weapon:axe and sword; your special is never depleted so you can just kill everything forever; the bosses are plain ridiculous; the graphics are so horrible that i felt i was playing ps1. when i first saw it, it would say that it could process more than 64000 enemies on screen,i was like "OMFG O.O" and now i can't feel anything but regret in buying this.

This game's engine should've been used for a rts game for ps2 or dynasty warriors. I like Dynasty warriors atmosphere and gameplay but....The pop ins and fog are horrendous sometimes. It's amazing how ikusagami can pull off displaying so many enemies on screen.

about the guy calld (blackheart1607) this is actully a mini game level and not one of the true actull level he sad the area you fight in is very simple. in story mode you fight in a big area and still has the thousends demons plus the soldier you lead is about 2000 or 4000 units some of them ride horses and on top of all that thears tree rivers mountin hills villges houses castls and rains and its still run fast and smoth and its about 17 or 20 levels and the game its not that simple to beat .

It's repetitive as hell, but somehow, REALLY FUN and would addicting! Assuming this is similar, i'd think i would love to play it. If i could find my PS2 slim......Well people like me enjoy certain games like this. Since i find fun in spending hours killing a crapton of enemies. Guess you're not one of us. D:

That's because the PS2 isn't powerful enough... Yes this game shows thousends of demons at once. But first of all they are very low poly, plus the area you fight in is very simple. Also all the weapons you can pickup in Dead Rising take quite a amount of CPU power. In order to calculate those things.
