need to provide more tension, via the barrel adjuster. Adjust it as much as needed for the gears to move to the correct gear ratio desired.

Hi, if im getting a little more oil build up on my front right shock do i replace the seals? Its a Specialized Enduro. Ive owned it for 3 years now. Its only on the front right. I put 130 pounds in it and it holds for about a week,then drops to 100? Can you relpy? Thanks Doug

bikes are different.

for mine, I simply did it the same way I fixed the brake. Release the nut or whatever fastener is holding the cable in place and tension it your self. Pull it until you've matched the reading on your gear switch with the respective cog.

I get that the screws don't help. So what does help? Probably the barrel adjuster but you left that part out!

the barrel adjuster, bing bing!! that is what helps you get to the gear you set on your gear changers. the Barrel adjuster adjusts the tension from the derailer to the gear changers.
