  • The copyright of this song was up for sale and I lost out on the bidding war.

  • @gruad999 What do you mean sir ?

  • I love this pub rock so much!!!!!!

  • i love it !!!

  • Reminds me of Born To Run.

  • @xxxChrist

Yes! See what you mean... And the singer was like Steve Harley on Speed and on his way to being a punk, but not quite.... ha Ha Ha!

  • @hexcane Exactly right my friend. Why degrade yourself? The greatest truth we find is that we simply don't have to do the shit we're expected to do by people who wouldn't do it themselves

  • The closest us Brits got to that kind of life affirming, there's a future out there away from this shitty town vibe that Springsteen did so well in the US. This is our Born To Run lads

  • This just raised me from Monday Blues.

  • Crowley was the first Rocker...very appropriate to a great song

  • @smedleysmead the album cover of crowley is a joke on him. they were cursed for that cover.

  • great fucking song, so uplifting, and also great to be able to hear the vinyl version. thanx alot for the upload

  • Isn't there a Michael Monroe/ Hanoi Rocks version of this? D;

  • Did Manfred Mann record the original version of this song or is this in fact the original version?

  • Love this song, ty for the upload

  • I heard this for the first time today when I saw "The Invention of Lying". I loved it instantly. It's so honest and inspiring.

  • It remains me of the good old days!

  • The face on the cover is of course Aleister Crowley, the Beast 666, etc, whose motto was "Do what thou wilt." Do anything you want to do is take-off of that saying, hence the Micky mouse ears. Crowley would be flattered...then he'd curse them and their blood would turn to battery acid. Maybe... 77 Layla

  • @StevenCarinci

    Crowley was a fool.

  • Brings back memories, late 1970's, all the punk/new wave stuff, not in my teens yet but I loved it and this song too.

  • Nice one.

  • just saw them yesterday at the wild at heart in berlin x-berg. blasting show!!!!

  • Ich kann mich noch sehr gut daran Erinnern.

Das Stück hat auch nach den vielen Jahren nichts eingebüßt.

  • A brilliant track, telling a good story.

Could not stop playing this a while back.

Check out the 2008 live version, sound is poor but good to see them now.

  • First heard this song in New York while listening to Radio Caroline via Shortwave radio! 1977.

A fun memory and thanks for posting!

  • Caroline via shortwave, I never believed anybody ever listened to Caroline that way, buit you did! Grerat to know. How was the quality of the transmission? And how did you discover Caroline in the first place? I always listened mediumwave, living here in Holland close to the coastline. greetz!
