  • ok so, what? i mean i dont even...

  • People who chew gum should be sanctioned! It is bad for the digestion. I was happy to see so little of it here in France, my new home. Thank you so much for this! Uprated. Hardly anyone does, the ingrates. They just watch. We got this legally on DVD this past week but I like looking at this in segments like this. My best to you from originally the USA! Very spooky movie, gave me nightmares.

  • this movie is crap, one giant piece of shit!

  • Maybe I'm just not good at analyzing or interpretation, but I don't think I "get" this movie. :/

  • the blond delivery man is dennis christopher who starred in "fade to black" great movie,if you liked 3 women you will like it

  • I've wanted to see this for some time. It is great. Thanks.

A reading: When the divided self (whose consciousness/ego is Millie) ignores its conscience (Pinky) the conscience gets sick. It then can't be healed by what it is meant to encompass nor heal itself. This prevents a new innocent conscience being born/reborn (Willie's still born child). The conscience becomes a nuisance. What is left of it that is good is old, paralysed to act but says, "I don't know why you have to be so mean to it."

  • cool!!!! :)) oh I've enjoyed it very much, neat ending :D thanx sooo much for uploading.

  • It's amazing how much this movie change as it went along

  • Thank you very much for a lucky opportunity to see this interesting movie.

  • :( That's weird. I don't think I like that. :(

  • Thanks for sharing this film. I'd hadn't seen it.

  • wtf

  • I remember seeing this film in 1981 when I was 17. It's always stayed with me -- it's just so ... unusual and fascinating. This is the only time I've seen it since then. Thank you for posting. M

  • Great film. I always wanted to write something about the stages in life and this is kind of like that Altman style. Would be a good double feature with Mulhuland Drive.

  • Interesting. Thanks for sharing this! I like that I can just stumble on this kind of stuff in places like this :)

  • Probably one of the most intriguing films in this sort of doppelganger genre second to Persona. David Lynch had similar themes with Inland Empire as well.

  • You think 3 women is trippy ,try to see his film Images , Susannah York having a breakdown in the Irish countryside, through clever editing and camera angles its the closest film that totally blurs reality and and what pschychiatrists call hallucination. Totally hypnotic and terrifying. You Americans should treasure Bob Altman you'll never get another another like him

  • wow that is one trippy movie. glad i watched til the end.

  • Very interesting movie.

  • I thought I wouldn't like this movie, but I really enjoyed it. The ending is interesting... my question is: what happened to the baby?

  • wow Lion's Gate Films went that far back to 1977?

  • wow.. what a frustrating and sad film.. I felt most sorry for the Millie Character..It was like she could never win.

  • what the hell was the point of that movie?

  • This was a really great movie, that was kind of unnerving. But the ending had me confused. I understand that they all kind of became one. But what was the deal with Pinky calling Millie Mom?

  • thank god it's finally over. what a migraine of a movie.

  • lol No one forced you to watch it? Or did they? haha You must have had some interest to see the film.

  • oh for gods sake, i'll watch any movie i want, and then decide if i like it or not. i am so sick of people on youtube saying that to other people, "oh, if you hate it then why are you watching it?" how else are people supposed to form opinions? get real.

  • I'm just saying that fourteen parts of a movie is a lot to watch. I'm surprised you suffered through all it or rather endured it. It was a longer movie. And I never say that about "why are people watching it if they hate it," but I'm just saying that as long as the movie, and you spent your time watching it. I just would have thought you would give up watching way before part 14 if you didn't like it so much.

  • You're right. At least you watched the movie in its entirety. At least you watched the whole movie before judging it. I'm curious though, did you think 3 Women was going to be a good movie? What sparked you to watch the movie? I'm just curious.

  • i happened onto it on tv one day, and i got through about half of it, and i thought it was extremely weird, and i just wanted to see what happened at the end. after watching it again i don't understand why people think it is such a great movie... it seems really boring and pretensious to me, and i don't understand what sissy spacek and shelley duvall are doing in it.

  • Oh cool. I'll admit, I don't really get the ending, but I get everything else. When Pinky's personality changes during the dream sequence, it's really about one person wanting to be someone else, being out of your own skin. When Pinky wakes up from her drink and walks into Millie's room, I perceieved it as Millie and Pinky both had the same dream at the same time. I need to do read up on the movie...lol bc I'll admit a lot of it didn't make sense, but I didn't find it boring or pretentious.

  • well, maybe boring isn't the right word, it does hold your interest, because it's so strange. i mean, i do understand the hidden themes and everything, but if i had an idea like this i don't think my conscience would allow me to try and make a movie out of it.

  • I see what you mean. Basically, watching this movie is watching someone else's dream. Do you like Robert Atlman's other movies? I'm an Altman fan. He's really skilled at making characters as realistic as possible.

  • looks like the only movies of his i've seen are this one and popeye...

  • haha Yeah I saw "Popeye" once and I liked it when I started it and I got a little sleepy as the film went on. lol I'm going to watch it again because I think I may have just been tired, or maybe not.

  • I meant to say when Pink wakes up from her "dream," not drink...LOL

  • and by "what they are doing in it" i mean, i don't understand why 2 high-end actors are in such a weird, confusing, boring movie.

  • Cause your not very smart.

  • Who on earth with appreciation for art likes Yoko Ono? Haha "hipsters"? Just fail. I was going to explain to you why your wrong about this movie and provide insight to help you have some understanding of film but then I just said it's not worth wasting my time. I've had to provide insight to so many stupid people like yourself it's not even worth it. I'm not even defending this movie so much, even though it was wonderful an probably Altman's second best next to McCabe.

  • thanks. i am SO a retard just NOT worthy of your profound flowing waters of insight. you totally win this one. however, i have officially wasted at least 20-30 minutes of your Fuckin' Time now. i really hope that means something between us.

  • @barkpeeler2000 You're both morons, now shut up.

  • @MissLeigh78 thanks. i don't know what i'd do without that glorious piece of self-actualization. i am truly changed.

  • @barkpeeler2000 Well Said!

  • Millie is Pinky's mom???

  • I was wondering why everyone used the word "unconventional" in every review I read of this film...and now I know why...GREAT film, thanks for posting!

  • The end titles remind me of PBS' "I, Claudius" 4 some reason.
