  • I love is song

  • Most sad song ever made.

  • For the sweetest of faces I now can't recall, a vision of beauty, a mirage, a love, which never was real at all. Goodbye, I hope you get a better life x

  • akira yamaoka is a fuckin genius, too bad they change the silent hill team

  • hmmmm, innocence :)

  • The 'old youtube look' is sitting somewhere in limbo listening to this music, along with the 5 star rating.

  • Nodding out on this song is amazing...Just saying

  • YEAH OKAY OKAY... It is obvious that "this music gives you unexpressionably deep feelings" and "it would be awesome to listen to this in a foggy or rainy weather"...

I really do wonder when will you faggots stop making the same comments over and over again.

  • @MisterDukh I really wonder when will you stop being a douche...maybe never, who knows?

  • @ShadowMelly dude what do you guys like about saying the same dhit all the time?

it is annoying to see fuckillion of comments saying "how depressive this music is"

i'm gonna locate ur houses by hacking your IP adresses then i'm gonna set your house on fire while ur sleeping

  • @MisterDukh xD you're so pathetic. If you don't like the comments don't read them and listen to the music. Simple.

  • @ShadowMelly I would like to show you emo fags the right way.

now stfu with your "depressive" comments.

  • @MisterDukh xD you're just burying yourself. fuck off and think before posting insulting comments.

  • @MisterDukh Its not depressive its emotions. If you read a book and learned the meaning of the word. You could know what they write about.

  • @MisterDukh You gonna locate my house by hacking the IP adress?... you are so fuckin hilarious dude ))

  • This releases unexplaineable emotions in me...I think I speak for everyone that hears this.

  • i love to listen to this music in winter, when I look out of the window, and i see everything white, silent, and peaceful.

  • Does anybody else feel real empty when they hear this? It puts me in such a reflective state of thought. But this is also very peaceful and beautiful...and sad.

  • July is a cursed month...

  • In July this year, my girlfriend died in a car accident. The driver was drunk and I promised to myself that I would kill him for what he committed. I remember that, moments later I hear this sad news about her death, this song popped into my mind. When I went to visit her grave, I cried like a little child, and again, this song came into my mind. And, for now, when I hear this song, I still feel her breath on my side. Thank you, Akira, now this OST means something very important in my life.

  • This song inspires emotions in me that I didn't know I had. Music doesn't get any more introspective, any more sentimental.

  • This is what heaven sounds like...I cant wait to go :)

  • Darkness, sadness, emptiness defeat, a dash of hope with a little mix of insanity and you have this song.

  • Come on Laura we gotta leave the hospital now. Wait.....you say Mary had a letter for me...and it's right at the back of that room with no lights, the one which only you have the keys to?

    Ok, let me go first.

  • I used this song when i felt a big Depression but I'm fine now ^^

  • love it

  • I remember playing this game for the first time, just like part 1 and 3, and I fell into a deep and eerie existence, hoping and wishing and praying for my own paradise, for my own Silent Hill. Those feelings still come and I'm always reminded that I live in this dreary existence.

  • @Senshiboi99 Seriously, It's like a dreamworld when you play the games. I haven't beaten number 1, but I played through 2 and 3 and the whole atmosphere is so otherworldly.

  • @Senshiboi99

I used to think I was the only one who thought of that.

Silent hill 2's foggy world would be the perfect place for me.

The town takes care of whatever you need whether you get hungry, bored or tired.

You could literally live in silent hill forever.

  • This song reminds me about the game LIMBO it's really creepy dark and lonely damn such a great game though

  • @xianos707 Great game.

  • sadness madness and despair transform into music i love it

  • I can see a girl that has been abused, and is locked away in a room sealed away from the world. So, as she stares out the window of the room she uses the only thing she has of her own to escape her reality...imagination. She creates a world in-between the world she knows, and the world she doesn't. A place of both perfection...and perdition.

  • i think of my father R.I.P and all my other family members dat i luved dat left me dis music just represents da finer things in life and silent hill in particular says 2 me and everyone else who has lost someone u neva kno wat u got till its gone

  • I never played any of the Silent Hill games growing up, but the series really has some great music... I could never imagine a track as soothing as this one being in a frightening survival horror game!

  • Seriously, go check out the song Mary's Magic. Or the song White magic by Pogo. Reminds me of Silent Hill 2's style.

  • I agree with artis...this song is soothing...it takes me back there...i think I will revisit again....

  • This song is surprisingly powerful. It's depressing, sad, happy, and soothing for me all at the same time. And no short of amazing

  • @yesrelationthesequel same here :D I used this music back when i felt a bigger Depression

  • Beautiful but I also find this unbelievably depressing. I can only listen to it for so long.

  • Listen to this with Rainymood on in the background.

  • @CainG88 it's actually raining here right now :D

  • @CainG88 thats amazing! Its so beautiful !

  • @Animalcrossing95 Isn't it just? Washes away life's ills and leaves you at peace, if only for a little while.

  • This song does not produce any melancholy or sadness or any negative emotion...it fills me with wonderful contentness actually, making me relax and putting my mind at ease. I think this song is very soothing and very therapeutic. It makes me think of the stars, the moon, the beach and the ocean on a beautiful, calm, peaceful summer night. It's a pity this masterpiece is so short though! Ah well, just put it on loop and listen to it for 4+ hours! This is my favourite song on the album! :D

  • Laura.....what are you doing?

  • Still gives me chills... always been a fan of the silent hill games and their ost's. I listened to this and several other beautiful tracks while i was in Japan as well so they will always hold a special place for me.

  • what's the name of the song that plays when maria is talking to ernest about amy in the born from a wish sequence?

  • akira yamaoka seems the only producer of dark ambient calling my attention any other except for lustmord and few others just sound like the same damn song to me after a while

  • I used to visit a cemetary near my house when I was little, reading the names of those who had left us, taking a moment to honor them, to remember them. I never knew a single one of them, but some part of me felt duty-bound to visit them, keep them company. It was always so peaceful there, I wasn't part of our world anymore, I was with them...

This song reminds me of those times, I really can't explain the feelings I got when I was there, but this song does that perfectly.

  • @JukemDrawles89 lolcunt

  • magical, magical!!!

  • Silent Hill 2 has my favourite soundtrack of the series. It's so searching, so melancholy, so harrowing and even contains some phat beats (see The Reverse Will)!

The two-chord progression in this track features throughout the soundtrack and is ingeniously haunting, and really ties the more melodic tracks together. Yamaoka is definitely one of my influences, and I respect him and his work greatly.

  • If you guys like fog, thick fog that's thick, and heavy, and erie, then move to Daly City, California.

  • @plzletmego87 lol

  • @meman29 Yeah I know huh. Just out of curiousity, are you from Daly City?

  • @meman29 Mainly in the winter, the fog there is very thick and it's very nice.

  • silent hill is a game for persons with a especial feeling for the strange/horrorific/sad and violent stuff

  • reading Silent Hill related comments remind that some people do infact have human emotions, that sounds gay, i know, but even the toughest bastards has feelings.

  • @TheStealth86 I find it stunning and indeed pathetic that anyone would label a human with emotions as "homosexual" in a derogatory manner, as if it was a sign of weakness (both being homosexual OR having emotions). Humans devoid of emotions are not wholly human. Those that do repress their emotions, deep down, are never proud of it. That's the entire point of James' struggle in this game.

  • I feel like im being surrounded by fog when I listen to this.

  • My fave track of the OST......relaxing and so peaceful. Forever a classic piece of music

  • this music makes me fell all warm and fuzi insdie

  • Akira is a damn genius.

  • this reminds me tha saddenest of my life ... and those empty moments that I will never fill up again, and I dont like it, to think about that...

  • @KickFlipO6 yea.................

  • I love this song...

My best friend died two years ago in a car crash, and when i went to visit her grave last year one time in the fog, this song just came to me

Eversince then, everytime ive been this song is always there in my head...

It's quite strange really, how it makes me think of all the good times that we had together and all those good memories come flooding back :)

I love her and i miss her, RIP Chezz xxx

It just goes to show you that a piece of music can let so many emotions flood...

  • @sykosyksi you must live in australia we have crahses every 10 minutes

  • This song makes me long what i can't have, a life that'll never be mine...

  • This + THC = <3

  • akira yamaoka is heaven and hell at the same time

  • This song makes me feel like I'm in space...free in the midst of darkness..sleeping and awake, existent and nonexistent at the same time.

  • masterpiece

  • There's a eerie sense of peace that belies the darkness of this song. Like a healing slumber that you can never wake from.

  • @crazydude606 That was a deep dude. Kinda funny that you say that though. I use this song to sleep lol. Maybe you don't really exist and I'm dreaming right now.

  • i need to know wat tracks will make u panic , heart pounds , scary , tell me , i dont play silent hill but i watch , but its too many episode and too many soundtracks so any u guys can recommend me thx ;)

  • @doommic Hmmm... Black Fairy, Terror in the Depths of the Fog, Block Mind, The Darkness that Lurks in Our Minds, and possibly Ashes and Ghost.

  • Its truly hard to express the odd emotions this song expresses ya know?

  • who need drugs?? I have something better... this song

  • that theme reminds me of my city at a rainy cold night

  • Silent Hill 2 is about as close to perfection in a game as you can get. That or it is perfect.

  • @fwehbulous Story and aesthetically, it's perfect. However, remember that this is a game not a movie. The gameplay is the only thing that doesn't make it so.

  • @fwehbulous

Chrono Trigger would like to have a word with you.

...But they're both awesome. I don't want to start shit here.

  • @fwehbulous Not until it becomes a VR simulation.

  • @fwehbulous Half-Life

  • Gorgeous sound design. SH2 & its soundtrack has been a part of my life for years and leaves me astounded every single time. Anyone who knows how on earth Akira constructed these sounds (or the pad sounds for the likes of Pianissimo Eplilogue, Heaven's Night, or White Noiz... I COULD GO ON!) feel free to contact me/reply for an entralling music-tech related conversation. Probably the deepest game music I ever heard. P.S. sorry if you read this comment on other tracks.

  • eeeh... Have you seen a little girl around here?

  • @kamilm122 LOL.

  • @kamilm122 no i havent sorry... but have you seen my wife? im looking for her somewhere around here. she said she'll be here.

  • I tend to listen to this exact soundtrack every so often. Reasons are adapted to common loneliness.

  • This song always tells me a story. It says one day, the world will be united has one. Where peace will reign, instead of war. Life will be better. And we'll all be in a much better place. And if we just wait, It'll happen. You must watch before you can do. It's simple observe and perform. We much watch war, before we watch peace happen.

  • @fiesta471 There wont be peace with muslims in the world.

  • @m4a153

    There CAN be.

  • In my restless dreams I see that place...

  • makes me think about killing my ex girlfriend and his new boyfriend. me starring in front of the 2 bodies in a calm dark room with blood splattered all over the walls. just me and my dead ex girlfriend.

  • Yes, Akira Yamaoka is surely a very talented composer. His music shares so many emotions and moods. Listening to this one i imagine myself on a bus in an early snowy, foggy winter, alone... or in a forest, and it snows.... and snows...

  • silent hill has always carried undescribable themes.Which makes you want to aimlessly look at nothing and just listen.

  • this is byfar the most chilling and tension causing song in the entire game all the others give u small burst of curious adrenaline whenever i hear this my handy freeze and my spine tenses this is the most beautiful song in any silent hill game

  • I wanna just drive around aimlessly while listening to this music.

  • I want a global apocalypse or something very tragic to happen.. Call me crazy but I have wanted something like this to happen for a long time. I want to be a lone survivor of this disaster and have to fight for my life from something, be it hijackers or zombies.. Or hell I wish something like Silent Hill were real.. LEMME GO THERE ^^

  • @mastachiefs49 lol your story looks more like a Fallout life lol

  • @alanvamp Eh fallout is boring.. Silent hill is much more eerie and fun ^^

  • @mastachiefs49 yeah im not comparing fall out with silent hill, Im saying your story about the apocalyptic world and being the only one with a desrted city sounded not like a silent hill but as a fall out story

  • @mastachiefs49 be careful what you wish because you will just might get it , you go to silent hill there is not turning back and you will never go back ...

  • @Lui362 Man if Silent Hill were real, it'd be awesome still.. And I would still go there :/

  • @mastachiefs49 wow really why ? i mean it's cool and all but the downside is you will be living there forever , just a wandering soul , a lonely soul who never could take control of life and all the missing we love , i hope the darkness they find will give them light . :D now i know you are sensing a pattern to what i am saying ... ;)

  • @Lui362 The more you talk about it the more I wanna go! it all sounds so mystical and exciting :), As long as I have somebody else who is just as sane as me Id love to go lol :p

  • @mastachiefs49 oh if it's ok i'd probably go with you , i have nothing to do anyway lol !

  • @Lui362 Seriously? I have been looking all over the internet for anything that resembles Silent Hill -.-... Accept some knock off town just like Silent Hill thats it :(

  • @mastachiefs49 you're new to knowing silent hill ? you seem to be fascinated by it ... and when i said the pattern and sensing something that i'm saying it's actually the lyrics from a song from silent hill - hell frozen rain you should listen to it " a toast to lonely souls , who never could take control of life , and all the misiing we love i hope the darkness they find will give them light " mary elizabeth and akira are gods when it come to silent hill soundtracks .... :D

  • @mastachiefs49 there's this place where they likened the movie to silent hill it's called "Toluca county , West Virginia " it really relates to silent hill because people have been going out of that place due to the undergroung fire still burning today ... creepy huh ? there lies the heart to Silent hill.

  • @Lui362 Yeah I heard of it.. I looked it up a while back and all but it really has no take you to its own dimension type thing lmao.. I think its impossible to simply walk into a city and go to another world... :( But a guy can dream :)

  • @mastachiefs49 yup but we all can imagine you know , silent hill i promised myself i'd take myself there someday but i never did .....

  • I just watched the silent hill movie earlier and I loved it when this song played, It's one of the best mood setters in the game in my opinion.

  • You know that spray paint art of the planets during in a city sky that you can often buy in big cities on the street? This song makes me feel like I am in one of those.

  • Snow everywhere. Thats all I want to imagine when I hear this song. Just brilliant.

  • I don't know bu when i'm hearing that music i'm thinking about snow and my girlfriend [first love]

  • its like walking around when its raining and no one is there the sky is gray everyones dissapeared and you just see a trail of dead bodys idk

  • I used to visit a cemetary near my house when I was little, reading the names of those who had left us, taking a moment to honour them, to remember them. I never knew a single one of them, but some part of me felt duty-bound to visit them, keep them company. It was always so peaceful there, I wasn't part of our world anymore, I was with them...

This song reminds me of those times, I really can't explain the feelings I got when I was there, but this song does that perfectly.

  • @mooglemadness ja right

  • @mooglemadness moogle lol

  • @mooglemadness Best. Comment. Ever. Seriously.

  • @mooglemadness

There's so much feeling and dimension in your comment. It sounds so peaceful where you were as child. Thank you for making my day sir or ma'am.

  • @mooglemadness That reminds me of a girl I know. She took me to a cemetary that was next to her moms house and told me how she still can't find her grandfathers grave. She'd go there and write things in chalk on the pavement for him. Evertime I hear this song I always think of the way she turned and smiled at me that night before it got too dark to see her, in her tight faded jeans, and worn work boots with her black & white striped tank top on covered by her unbuttoned black long-sleeved shirt.

  • @mooglemadness

That's strange. How do you remember them if you never met them?

  • @lonerr Come on, he or she said that a yaer ago. Don't waste your time. Smh -______-

  • @lonerr

they said remembering those feelings, not remembering them...

  • SCENE:

Snowy, foggy road in Silent Hill, on one side, shops and buildings, on the other, nothing...

James walks out of one of the buidlings, and looks down in a sad way.

He whispers a name to himself, holding *something, a knife or a tape recorder whatever* in his hand... Then- (What do YOU think?)

  • YOU HAVE STARTLED THE WITCH

  • @pinkorpurple432 Give it purple ice cream!

  • reaching out to the unknown...

  • @LLinkissocooll that's what i feel too..

  • So releaxing...I play it when I am going to sleep...relaxes me..puts me at ease..

  • It also feels like Your going to heaven. You're like in the white part of it like in the movies but yeah.

  • i think of it as what SoliderFallen89 said but Like Resurrection. Not like God's coming to earth and back but like not the devils like in the movies. something like post war after the nukes hit.

  • If you close your eyes and listen to this, you can almost see yourself floating in a calm pool of water.

  • This music makes me feel like I'm sailing atop my memories and my dreams, letting the river of time carry me towards the eventual waterfall of death, and my memories going down with my boat: the body, and its passenger, my soul. I'm not scared of dying, and I don't want it either, I'm just prepared to go when the reaper comes a knockin'.

  • This song makes me think of 3 different things. 1. I think of me walking around town after a horrible armaggedon or earthquake where everything is destroyed. The sky is pale, and the clouds are gray, and everything is silent. 2. I sometimes think of Jesus when I listen to this song, It's a good thing. 3. I think of myself walking around my neighborhood at night, while it's snowing, and everything is silent, it's very quiet and...yet peaceful.

  • This music is so beautiful... Unlike most people listenning to it, it gives me a feeling of hope...

Maybe humanity still has a chance.. Even after all the horror...

  • It makes me think of being in a wide open field on a bright warm and sunny summer day the summer wind gently blowing on my face the winds gentle russling sounds as if it had a sad tale to say

  • @supermario1232

beautiful...but in my opinion it shows something darker, but beautiful :D

  • makes me think about me and maria, alone. in a quiet beach with a thick fog.

  • Just listening to be gets my poetry side clickin'.

I thought of ten poems to write for my school magazine, and I won poet of the year in school. :] I always listen to this song, it just seems to work.

  • Do you people fell it ? This is Real Silent Hill !

  • @Humeir24 the real silent hill is west Virginia centrilia

  • makes me think of sitting beside ur loved one in a hospital bed while she is slowly dying. as snow and heavy winds whip the windows and you remember all the loving and close moments you had together as she peacefully leaves this world

  • @MrJMANGO makes me feel the same way, other feeling it has is,being in a dead ghost town, or knowing your going to die somtime.

  • Makes me think of thick snow fall, dark heavy clouds, quiet and all alone. A soft breeze through a frozen forest of white. Calming yet so sad...

  • makes me think of fog

  • I think of dozing in an armchair or next to a loved one's hospital bed on a drizzly afternoon...shades or blue and grey on the walls.

  • Some people think of snow, but I see myself just drifting away in a cool and endless body of water. I'm not doing anything...just drifting underwater.

  • makes me think;

Its a cold day, i'm wearing heavy winter clothes, a non-finger glove, smoking a cigarette, watching the snow covering everything

i'm all alone in the world

    everything is abandoned and old

    foggy day

    just sadly appreciating the day

  • The BEST Akira Yamaoka track EVER.

    Welcome to Silent Hill

  • makes me think of a cloudy, misty, cold morning.

  • Everywhere I check it seems that Akira Yamaoka's music on the Silent Hill soundtracks is classified as dark ambient. Does anyone know any dark ambient artists that are somewhat similar to this? This whole soundtrack is amazing.

  • If i close my eyes , i can see my hometown in a nuclear winter , with a big broken smokestack.

  • Comment removed

  • This song goes great with snowfall.

  • Makes me think of....snow...and also something different...a gloomy day..foggy and it is at a lake/beach...and the calm waves are calmly washing up on shore...

  • Once in my life I've experienced a day so foggy that I wasn't able to se the end of road on the street I love on. It's a very short street. So I want to the habor that day to simply look at the water. The sky was all white, which reflected in the water and made it all foggy-gray/white

  • @Sadako60 I started to imagine that this was the Toluca lake. So I sat there for one whole day and listened to this music while looking at the water as I drew whatever crossed my mind. I think that was the happiest time in my life

  • oh and i must also add, it makes me think of the eternal beauty of the cosmos as well.

  • this music sort of makes me think of what its like to be dead, an eternal peaceful plane of no boundaries, or absolute oblivion. great stuff!

  • Nostalgia

  • This is my fav one from the soundtrack always has been I just want it to be permanently foggy for a day and just get on a bus and listen to the whole soundtrack

  • cuantos recuerdos

  • people, would

    always think im weird

when i listen to this song

    it makes me think about

    everyday life. and sometimes

when i would cry.. my anser would

come to mind :just from this song

    :[

  • Good to read or study by. Or to play on a snowy day.

  • I just play this song in my head and sit next to my window with it open while its raining outside and just get into this trance like gaze/state and remember all of the good memories I had as a child; all of the good ones and none of the bad ones. They pop in and out of my head and just fade away into another memory, then another, and another. In a way, they can be irrelevant, but I don't think they are. Its amazing how music like this can make you feel at peace, in a nice "safe"place.

  • Good man!! I feel just the same, I'm so pleased I'm not the only one who gets nostalgic and loses themselves in REAL music
