Does anybody else feel real empty when they hear this? It puts me in such a reflective state of thought. But this is also very peaceful and beautiful...and sad.
In July this year, my girlfriend died in a car accident. The driver was drunk and I promised to myself that I would kill him for what he committed. I remember that, moments later I hear this sad news about her death, this song popped into my mind. When I went to visit her grave, I cried like a little child, and again, this song came into my mind. And, for now, when I hear this song, I still feel her breath on my side. Thank you, Akira, now this OST means something very important in my life.

I remember playing this game for the first time, just like part 1 and 3, and I fell into a deep and eerie existence, hoping and wishing and praying for my own paradise, for my own Silent Hill. Those feelings still come and I'm always reminded that I live in this dreary existence.

I can see a girl that has been abused, and is locked away in a room sealed away from the world. So, as she stares out the window of the room she uses the only thing she has of her own to escape her reality...imagination. She creates a world in-between the world she knows, and the world she doesn't. A place of both perfection...and perdition.

I never played any of the Silent Hill games growing up, but the series really has some great music... I could never imagine a track as soothing as this one being in a frightening survival horror game!
This song does not produce any melancholy or sadness or any negative emotion...it fills me with wonderful contentness actually, making me relax and putting my mind at ease. I think this song is very soothing and very therapeutic. It makes me think of the stars, the moon, the beach and the ocean on a beautiful, calm, peaceful summer night. It's a pity this masterpiece is so short though! Ah well, just put it on loop and listen to it for 4+ hours! This is my favourite song on the album! :D

Silent Hill 2 has my favourite soundtrack of the series. It's so searching, so melancholy, so harrowing and even contains some phat beats (see The Reverse Will)!
The two-chord progression in this track features throughout the soundtrack and is ingeniously haunting, and really ties the more melodic tracks together. Yamaoka is definitely one of my influences, and I respect him and his work greatly.
reading Silent Hill related comments remind that some people do infact have human emotions, that sounds gay, i know, but even the toughest bastards has feelings.

Humans devoid of emotions are not wholly human. Those that do repress their emotions, deep down, are never proud of it. That's the entire point of James' struggle in this game.

@mooglemadness That reminds me of a girl I know. She took me to a cemetary that was next to her moms house and told me how she still can't find her grandfathers grave. She'd go there and write things in chalk on the pavement for him. Once in my life I've experienced a day so foggy that I wasn't able to se the end of road on the street I love on. It's a very short street. So I want to the habor that day to simply look at the water. The sky was all white, which reflected in the water and made it all foggy-gray/white

I just play this song in my head and sit next to my window with it open while its raining outside and just get into this trance like gaze/state and remember all of the good memories I had as a child; all of the good ones and none of the bad ones. They pop in and out of my head and just fade away into another memory, then another, and another. In a way, they can be irrelevant, but I don't think they are. Its amazing how music like this can make you feel at peace, in a nice "safe"place.

I want a global apocalypse or something very tragic to happen.. Call me crazy but I have wanted something like this to happen for a long time. I want to be a lone survivor of this disaster and have to fight for my life from something, be it hijackers or zombies.. Or hell I wish something like Silent Hill were real.. LEMME GO THERE ^^

@mastachiefs49 there's this place where they likened the movie to silent hill it's called "Toluca county , West Virginia " it really relates to silent hill because people have been going out of that place due to the undergroung fire still burning today ... creepy huh ? there lies the heart to Silent hill.

I used to visit a cemetary near my house when I was little, reading the names of those who had left us, taking a moment to honour them, to remember them. I never knew a single one of them, but some part of me felt duty-bound to visit them, keep them company. It was always so peaceful there, I wasn't part of our world anymore, I was with them...
This song reminds me of those times, I really can't explain the feelings I got when I was there, but this song does that perfectly.

@mooglemadness That reminds me of a girl I know. She took me to a cemetary that was next to her moms house and told me how she still can't find her grandfathers grave. She'd go there and write things in chalk on the pavement for him. Evertime I hear this song I always think of the way she turned and smiled at me that night before it got too dark to see her, in her tight faded jeans, and worn work boots with her black & white striped tank top on covered by her unbuttoned black long-sleeved shirt.

This song makes me think of 3 different things. 1. I think of me walking around town after a horrible armaggedon or earthquake where everything is destroyed. The sky is pale, and the clouds are gray, and everything is silent. 2. I sometimes think of Jesus when I listen to this song, It's a good thing. 3. I think of myself walking around my neighborhood at night, while it's snowing, and everything is silent, it's very quiet and...yet peaceful.

Once in my life I've experienced a day so foggy that I wasn't able to se the end of road on the street I love on. It's a very short street. So I want to the habor that day to simply look at the water. The sky was all white, which reflected in the water and made it all foggy-gray/white

I just play this song in my head and sit next to my window with it open while its raining outside and just get into this trance like gaze/state and remember all of the good memories I had as a child; all of the good ones and none of the bad ones. They pop in and out of my head and just fade away into another memory, then another, and another. In a way, they can be irrelevant, but I don't think they are. Its amazing how music like this can make you feel at peace, in a nice "safe"place.
