i agree. I mean revan was suppose to be the prodigal knight. The guy that can tap into both sides of the force without succumbing to either side. The guy can actually use his emotions to fuse his powers unlike anakin and remain in control. great saber duelist. He was great in the first game. But gets mia in the second game and killed in the 3rd game. O_o
@MrHoppers002 He wasn't as powerful as everyone makes him out to be. Don't forget the Jedi wipe his memory, and Bastilla captures Revan. The Emperor is so powerful that he is immortal. Revan had faults, which is what makes him appeal to people so much. As well as the way that he seems human because he doesn't blindly follow but questions what he is doing. That makes him powerful, but not all powerful.
@Gorgoroth5746 Darth Sion was also immortal, because of his reputation of feeding on his anger and hatred to "escape" from his physical wounds. Nihilus was a fucking dark side manifestation/energy, he wasn't even a human being anymore. Darth Traya was a fucking evil witch,
@Gorgoroth5746 but I dunno if she was quiet immortal. But I do think that she was into alot of ancient Sith magic, judging by her actions of manipulating minds and making Mical , for instance, hallucinate and hear voices.
"Revan and Malak came face to face with the long hidden Sith Empire and its Emperor. Thus, having already embraced the seductive Sith teachings he encountered at the Trayus Academy on Malachor V, Revan's induction into their traditions was finally completed." this is from wokkiepedia, it then goes on to say, Upon securing the ancient space station (star forge), however, he returned to the civilization he had left behind openly as Darth Revan, proclaiming himself to be the Dark Lord of the Sith.
Revan is not dead in the mmo either, theres no dead body so no proof. he will show up again. Oh and Kotor 2 was no where near as good as the first in every aspect. The whole story was very bleh
What a pity; Bioware has denied Obsidian their authority over Star Wars canon. When Kreia discusses Revan, how his choices were always his own, and how he never truly fell to the Dark Side... well, according to that accursed Revan novel, he was actually nothing more but a pawn of the Sith Emperor. Its a great shame, since Kreia's depiction of Revan is far more fascinating, imo.
@God0fSkyrim: If you're going to insult someone, then make sure you read their message carefully so you don't make an ass out of yourself. I said one of many reasons you fucking dumbass. That wasn't "the" reason. Get some comprehension lessons asshole.
Oh, and one of the reasons I don't want to play the MMO game is because I don't want to have to team up with a dumbass like yourself to complete some quests. I wouldn't want to be paired up with a slow reader who can't comprehend my messages.
@FellFather I found the book to be pretty awesome in its telling of Revan's fate. In my opinion, it diddnt stray too far from the Obsidian storyline, but also in my opinion, i prefer Bioware to Obsidian :P
@JediShemL yea i was also annyoed however he was able to break from it himself, watch the foundary instance and tell me what u think, the ending i was unsure of but the last words said were prefect.
@JediShemL I agree. Just hope that they propursly left the "death" of Revan and HK-47 ambigus so we they can actually show them latter and give Revan a proper characaterization on the Jedi side.
It´s a shame if he dies so easly after everything he and the Exile did, and while the Exile´s character is beyond redemption (so to speack), Revan deserves far better.
@JediShemL because noone knwos the exile anymore... vene if Malachor V got destroyed.. but what I'm wondering about is : Is there someone who cares the LEgacy of Betrayal (Darth Trayas Legacy ?) ? Is tehre a new Darth Traya in SWTOR ? I hope so... cause Kreia was just TOO awesome as she shoul stay in JUST one game :(
@JediShemL I dont know how jedisheml.. but kriea changed my view of the world. She is that great of a character to me. Kotor 2 had the best story hands down. To bad lucas arts didnt appreciate the work that they put into this game and let most of it die. So much truth about how life works is explained. Doenst really surprise me that lucas arts didnt care for this and why make a mmo during a depression? No common sence in that buiseness. Also, why ignore the fans about battlefront 3?
@FellFather when revan went to the unknown regions, the only reason he would come back was as "as a pawn of the emperor" so that he could find the star forge, however I dont think the emperor ever had complete control, revan would never had betrayed the republic, revan never fell, as kreia said, he simply became sith lord out of necessity, but as he searched for the star forge, began to fall into his own ambitions to protect the republic, by controling it, and destroying the jedi...
@alexzinger123 well what happens accorrding to kotor 1 and 2 is that revan became the dark lord to prevent the greater evil, however the only way to beat this evil was to capture the starforge with the help of the dark jedi army he formed. swtor seems to back your view however :/. I feel they turned there back on some of the most avid kotor fans BUT i still have faith
@alexzinger123 According to SWTOR Revan fell completely before finding the star maps despite kotor 1 showing otherwise. Also consider this for SWTOR's retconned history Revan would have had to disappear (find sith empire) come back locate the star map and dissapear a 2nd time (find the starforge). It doesn't make sense, where was his fleet the whole time, how did they not know he came back when I believe a star map was so close to the jedi council.
@FellFather i thout the novel was a good book and the fact that the exile was a woman is prity cool as well and how bastila maries revan and has a child but what sucks is revans death in TOR its a horrible fate to watch him die they made it to easy to kill him
@FellFather But in this game we also have to consider that Revan was supposed to have destroyed the republic fleet at the end of no. 1, and "remained" a dark sider, whereas in TOR, we see they opted for the lightside option to be canon.
@FellFather Not to mention how the writer of the novel 'stole' the concept behind Darth Nihilus' power and what his eventual goal was once he had defeated the Exile and the Republic.
@FellFather Dude, the story about Revan meeting Lord Vitiate, the Sith Emperor, is true. How else did Revan and his friend Malak turned to the dark side and came back to the Republic, attacking it with an enormous fleet of sith assassins, sith soldiers, droids and sith warships?
@FellFather He was being slowly seduced by the Dark Side/Sith teachings during the end of the Mandalorian Wars, when he stepped into the Trayus Academy on Malachor. There he found out about the ancient Sith world of Korriban, where he went after the Mandalorian Wars.
@FellFather He then traveled in the Unknown Regions, coming across Dromund Kaas, the capital of the Sith Empire. There, him and Malak were seduced by the Emperor, became Darth Revan and Darth Malak and they were sent to find the ancient Star Maps which lead to the Star Forge. It all makes sense
@FellFather Not to mention, the Emperor himself granted them a huge, huge army of Sith soldiers, Sith apprentices, droids and warships to conquer the Republic and prepare it for the invasion of Vitiate's Sith Empire. But Revan and Malak eventually escaped the Emperor's mind control
@FellFather and decided that they should create their own Sith Empire, lead of course by Revan, after conquering the Republic and destroying all the Jedi. From here on, you know the story, the Jedi Civil War begins, and Vitiate's plans to invade the Republic by using Revan fucking fails.
so many people dont know this its untrue and its the BEST and i mean best written stroy in the kotor universe. Revan is neither light or dark however is intentions were good (in a way)
is this a super moded pc version. i dont remember this planet or this scene. and kreia never changeds clothes either. that face is not a playable option either
If Bioware and Lucas Arts could butcher meat half as efficiently as they do potently dynamic characters like Revan, Kreia and The Exile........well, they'd be the richest dam butchers (Of meat) alive today.
Such a great story, and still, Bioware FUCKED IT UP COMPLETELY. Drew Karpyshyn totally retconed KOTOR 2 in his new book. I wish i never read the goddamn thing...And then, culmination, Revan's fate is also fucked up in the Swtor. Damn you greedy Lucas! All we wanted was KOTOR 3.
@Yellacha: The first sign that things were going to be messed up with this franchise was the fact they made it into an MMO for the next game. I knew then that everything that us purist held dear was going down the toilet.
@JediShemL Yes, my thoughts exactly. I "discovered" Kotors quite late, in the summer of 2009, as a 19-year-old. And I play them up to this day, and they never got boring, especially Kotor 2. I don't suppose you've read the new book, but it wasn't nearly worth of the saga. IMO, the Obsidian has better writers, and should make some new SW RPG (with Mass Effect engine, :D)...Some wild imagination, ha...BTW, i watched all your videos, tnx for everything.
@Yellacha I thought BW may do that with the Mass Effect combat system. Then TOR got announced. Still going to play it and probably love it but I just know if they'd made it a standard RPG KOTOR3 I would actually have been ready to die
@JediShemL YES! I knew I had allies who wants that abomination to be done away with. I just finished the restoration mod, and a portion of the cut content that the mod restores builds up the third game, so sad that it was trashed. But hey, maybe TOR will fail miserably and Bioware will make kotor 3 to apologize. Probably not, but I can dream, can't I?
@JediShemL Coming from a fool who has never even played the game, if you at all cared for the series you would have played it by now and realised that it is better then any Kotor 3 could have ever been.
@arenapwner361: I'm not a fool for not liking a game. I just have a different sort of taste. That doesn't make me foolish. In fact, a fool is someone who thinks their opinion is fact and they have to agree with them because they feel so insecure about their own self if someone doesn't agree with them? Are you following me you fucking dumbass? I doubt it!
@Yellacha I can't agree more. I really hate what they did to Revan in SWToR... I bought the game, but not sure how long will I play... They just made the story that all Kotor fans were sticking with into a big fail. Disappointing.
@KrutiFruti@MelonSmasherX They don't realize that people bound themselves with the characters. Or perhaps they just don't care. I can't imagine what it was like for someone to wait for 7 years to find out things ended in this way. I waited only two years, lucky me. I just can't play the TOR. It's a matter of principle. I'll read the summary of what happened later on Wookiepedia, and that's it.
@Yellacha Sorry Revan wasn't the force god you thought he was. If you even bothered to pay attention to what you read then you would know that they didn't retcon KOTOR 2. Tell me, what did they retcon of KOTOR 2? Also Revan had a horrible fate at the end, WHAT? You know not everyone gets a happy and Drew was the guy who originally created Revan. If there is anyone who deserves to decide his fate it is him.
i have to ask is the main charecter you play now the same one from the first one both revan but got his memories erased havent playe this game in so long that i truly dont remember anymore
SWTOR better give us some amazing revan background and some indepth story. Thats all I care about. I don't want to raid and to do dungeons, I just want to have dialogue like this and listen to all the awesome that is star wars history.
@TigerRifle1: That's because there were too many people to count that weren't smart enough to know to make certain dialogue choices with Atton to determined a light or dark side Revan, or a male or female Revan. They just hit the first choices by skipping through it and thus no Bastila in the game and they never knew she was in the game. Meanwhile they see the pigtails on Kreia and think there's a connection there because Bastila had them too.
2005: I asked my father to buy me Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy for Christmas. It was a game I was very excited for because it would be my first game that I'd play as a jedi, Christmas came and the familiar shape a videogame case was in view, I opened the present only to read upon "Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords. I said: "Dad this isn't JKJA. He replied, "The man at the store said this would be a much better choice than that other game. That was the best gift ever.
In the holovids (whatever they are called) it is a Jedi's interpretation of history which may or many not be accurate. I don't think TOR is modifying the story, all they have done is expresses a view of history that does not match Darth Traya's. (who is the lord of betrayal anyways).
@JediShemL,kbizz640 I think the old repubic is still going 2 be awesome but I was a bit gutted that they scapped the console releases. This is just guess but maybe bioware might release Star Wars The Old Repubic for the consoles next year.
Im confused, you play as revan in KOTOR 2 right? or at least the same character from KOTOR 1 who was revan, if kreia was a mentor to him, how is it she can not recognize he is revan?
@gtgoskate You don't play as Revan in KOTOR2. Its a completely different character. You play as a former Jedi that followed Revan into the Mandalorian Wars, then disappeared during the Jedi civil war.
Let me clear this... Bastila had some attitude but not that much , and Bastila was not a Sith Lord , well , she was , but she turned back to the light side.
@kbizz640 you know what i like to blam for pc gaming dieing its called 'pirating', sure ps3 and xbox games can be pirated but not as easy as pc games i dont think however the game will be bad what i fear is that its being hyped too much and will cause a great downfall. Games like Call of Duty are hyped to the max and they always end up being a disappoitment, for SWTOR to be at its best they need to stop over hypeing it
@JediShemL Yeah well usually they do a pretty good job, but lately they haven't given anything the fans want. No Battlefront 3, no KOTOR 3, Hell even a new Jedi Academy or Rouge Squadron would be nice. Instead they give us a pay to play MMO that no one asked for, even though the game will probably be epic.
@kbizz640: The problem with TOR that may end up being its downfall is it being a PC only game which is dying, MMO monthly subscription, and a poor economy. That combination could spell utter failure. I kind of hope it does fail because that maybe the message it takes for LucasArts to finally get it.
@JediShemL Yeah, I mean while people are slowly going away from pay to play type games, I don't think SWTOR will have any problems making money. I mean with all the hype that is surrounding this game, they'll have no shortage of players. What bugs me is that I feel like that they're sort of throwing the original TOR fans under the bus by just saying to hell with the consoles and straight to the PC. I think it was just a move to make the most money, which is disappointing.
@kbizz640: I don't think money will be an issue at first because of the hype. Bad games at first do well that are hyped enough. But long term maybe the problem. The money expected to keep the online service going from players and overall sales after the hype is gone could be the downfall. Besides, they have been working on this game for 6 years. A lot of money has been invested in it. 6 years of paying people to make it, etc. PC gaming is dying. The query is, will they make a decent profit? ;)
@JediShemL Yeah I suppose, but I don't think the game will do bad because honestly I have never played a bad Bioware game, and the game I have to admit looks pretty awesome, you don't find many MMO's that are fully voiced. And while I don't agree PC gaming is dieing at least not in the normal games that are multiplatform, but MMO's and RTS's might die out because there just isn't as big of an audience for it.
@kbizz640: To me the game looks outdated. And the reason for that is because they're using a game engine that is at least 6 years old. Some people won't care, but others won't. One thing that will tick people off will be the combat system.
BTW, statistics show that more and more people are converting to the console. That means less and less PC gamers. It's slowly dying. If that's hard to believe, just do a little research.
@JediShemL Yeah I get that but honestly all mmos look pretty behind on the graphics front but they make up for it in size, story etc. Yes while MMO and PC gaming might be declining there is still PLENTY of people left, I mean, i'll probably at least try the trial. PC gaming isn't dead enough YET to have a game as big as star wars to die quickly. I mean any thing is possible but unlikely. And hey, It's not like I want SWTOR to fail, it looks fun and is by a good company Just disappointed no KOTOR
@JediShemL I can tell u now TOR will not fail look at all the awards there have won over last 3 years they have won loads like they have won a award for best MMO and its better then WOW by a mile.
@kbizz640 I think The Old Repubic is awesome and will be a big hit when its released UK 22nd of december 2011 but I wish they had make it for the consoles aswell as PC.
@JediShemL Consoles are old and outdated, you can get a PC and it can handle much more than any consoles that are out right now. Also, Bioware developers have already ended the console debate.
@Vazarath: Your answer is vague. Meaning it doesn't explain why what I asked. Just so you know, TOR looks very outdated so I don't understand how a console couldn't handle it.
@JediShemL It's an MMORPG for fuck sakes! Have you ever seen a popular MMO be transferred well into a console? No. First of all, the profit wouldn't be nearly as much as on PC and the MMORPG fanbase on consoles is very slim.
@Vazarath: But that still doesn't explain why an MMO type game wouldn't work on a console. Because the last time I checked, PS3 and Xbox 360 have their own live networks where you can play games online and with multiple people at the same time. And they have mics to communicate with each other.
I like Kreia's view on Revan here. I'd thought about Revan's character from KOTOR1 and saw him as the hero who stepped too far into evil to stop a greater evil. The brainwashing only pulled him back and let him see what he had resorted to to stop the Sith. MUCH better than, "I wuz all eevilz, nowz I am g00d & stuff."
Interesting talk. I like how she elaborates that Revan was himself, not strictly good or evil, not jedi or sith, he was his own entity. And the thought of that is exciting, especially in the Star Wars universe with a stark schism between Light and Dark sides.
"Perhaps he became a dark lord out of necessity, to prevent a greater evil."
Well, thanks to new Bioware canon paving the way to The Old Republic MMO, speculation is out the window - he and Malak encountered the grandpapi Sith Emperor.
anything said here is CANON and is changeable in the kotor games except where mentioned:
1. Bastila was Revan's lover and a headstrong jedi. she was adept at battle meditation. (in non-canon versions Bastila doesn't have to be Revan's lover)
2. Kreia was Revan's first and last mentor. She became the sith lord darth traya after her fall to the dark side. this is unchangeable it is fact.
3.Bastila and Kreia are different people. THIS IS UNCHANGEABLE AND FACT.
@starwarspowermetal TOR decided to 'modify' the story, basically disregarding most of the events of KOTOR 2. I call it dumbing down. TOR says that Revan fell to the dark side because of some sith emperor, and instead of kreia's explicit statement of Revan understanding the Force in a different way. When it comes down to it, Bioware saw it fit that since they are doing an MMO, it would be much easier to paint the protagonists and antagonists as armies of good/evil or jedi/sith.
@AceMarine45 BULLSHIT RETARD look at the cast, prick, before you start spreading stupid rumours, or even just listen to the voices, they are similar, but its not the same voice actress.
him whether I saw Revan, his (secret) husband, or not. Bastilla says something like "I fear we'll never know the answer why he left". I think Revan and Bastilla were the Old Republic era Anakin-Padme couple.

@JediShemL I dont know how jedisheml.. but kriea changed my view of the world. She is that great of a character to me. Kotor 2 had the best story hands down. To bad lucas arts didnt appreciate the work that they put into this game and let most of it die. So much truth about how life works is explained. Doenst really surprise me that lucas arts didnt care for this and why make a mmo during a depression? No common sence in that buiseness. Also, why ignore the fans about battlefront 3?
Stevo5000X 3 weeks ago
@FellFather when revan went to the unknown regions, the only reason he would come back was as "as a pawn of the emperor" so that he could find the star forge, however I dont think the emperor ever had complete control, revan would never had betrayed the republic, revan never fell, as kreia said, he simply became sith lord out of necessity, but as he searched for the star forge, began to fall into his own ambitions to protect the republic, by controling it, and destroying the jedi...
alexzinger123 1 month ago
@alexzinger123 well what happens accorrding to kotor 1 and 2 is that revan became the dark lord to prevent the greater evil, however the only way to beat this evil was to capture the starforge with the help of the dark jedi army he formed. swtor seems to back your view however :/. I feel they turned there back on some of the most avid kotor fans BUT i still have faith
foxy2k8 1 month ago
@alexzinger123 According to SWTOR Revan fell completely before finding the star maps despite kotor 1 showing otherwise. Also consider this for SWTOR's retconned history Revan would have had to disappear (find sith empire) come back locate the star map and dissapear a 2nd time (find the starforge). It doesn't make sense, where was his fleet the whole time, how did they not know he came back when I believe a star map was so close to the jedi council.

@FellFather i thout the novel was a good book and the fact that the exile was a woman is prity cool as well and how bastila maries revan and has a child but what sucks is revans death in TOR its a horrible fate to watch him die they made it to easy to kill him
kingjams1 1 month ago
@FellFather But in this game we also have to consider that Revan was supposed to have destroyed the republic fleet at the end of no. 1, and "remained" a dark sider, whereas in TOR, we see they opted for the lightside option to be canon.

@FellFather Not to mention how the writer of the novel 'stole' the concept behind Darth Nihilus' power and what his eventual goal was once he had defeated the Exile and the Republic.
TheDutchGhost 2 weeks ago
@FellFather Dude, the story about Revan meeting Lord Vitiate, the Sith Emperor, is true. How else did Revan and his friend Malak turned to the dark side and came back to the Republic, attacking it with an enormous fleet of sith assassins, sith soldiers, droids and sith warships?
doom696mented 1 week ago
@FellFather He was being slowly seduced by the Dark Side/Sith teachings during the end of the Mandalorian Wars, when he stepped into the Trayus Academy on Malachor. There he found out about the ancient Sith world of Korriban, where he went after the Mandalorian Wars.
doom696mented 1 week ago
@FellFather He then traveled in the Unknown Regions, coming across Dromund Kaas, the capital of the Sith Empire. There, him and Malak were seduced by the Emperor, became Darth Revan and Darth Malak and they were sent to find the ancient Star Maps which lead to the Star Forge. It all makes sense
doom696mented 1 week ago
@FellFather Not to mention, the Emperor himself granted them a huge, huge army of Sith soldiers, Sith apprentices, droids and warships to conquer the Republic and prepare it for the invasion of Vitiate's Sith Empire. But Revan and Malak eventually escaped the Emperor's mind control
doom696mented 1 week ago
@FellFather and decided that they should create their own Sith Empire, lead of course by Revan, after conquering the Republic and destroying all the Jedi. From here on, you know the story, the Jedi Civil War begins, and Vitiate's plans to invade the Republic by using Revan fucking fails.

@Yellacha: The first sign that things were going to be messed up with this franchise was the fact they made it into an MMO for the next game. I knew then that everything that us purist held dear was going down the toilet.
JediShemL 3 months ago 26
@JediShemL Yes, my thoughts exactly. I "discovered" Kotors quite late, in the summer of 2009, as a 19-year-old. And I play them up to this day, and they never got boring, especially Kotor 2. I don't suppose you've read the new book, but it wasn't nearly worth of the saga. IMO, the Obsidian has better writers, and should make some new SW RPG (with Mass Effect engine, :D)...Some wild imagination, ha...BTW, i watched all your videos, tnx for everything.
Yellacha 3 months ago
@Yellacha I thought BW may do that with the Mass Effect combat system. Then TOR got announced. Still going to play it and probably love it but I just know if they'd made it a standard RPG KOTOR3 I would actually have been ready to die

@JediShemL YES! I knew I had allies who wants that abomination to be done away with. How could anyone think Kreia was Bastila, the game takes place only five years later. Bastila even appears in the game at one point. WTF ppl.
TigerRifle1 4 months ago 5
@TigerRifle1: That's because there were too many people to count that weren't smart enough to know to make certain dialogue choices with Atton to determined a light or dark side Revan, or a male or female Revan. They just hit the first choices by skipping through it and thus no Bastila in the game and they never knew she was in the game. Meanwhile they see the pigtails on Kreia and think there's a connection there because Bastila had them too.

In the holovids (whatever they are called) it is a Jedi's interpretation of history which may or many not be accurate. I don't think TOR is modifying the story, all they have done is expresses a view of history that does not match Darth Traya's. (who is the lord of betrayal anyways).

@kbizz640 you know what i like to blam for pc gaming dieing its called 'pirating', sure ps3 and xbox games can be pirated but not as easy as pc games i dont think however the game will be bad what i fear is that its being hyped too much and will cause a great downfall. Games like Call of Duty are hyped to the max and they always end up being a disappoitment, for SWTOR to be at its best they need to stop over hypeing it
SpacelessZarius 6 months ago
And this is why we need KOTOR 3 not SWTOR
kbizz640 6 months ago 21
@kbizz640: I agree. But that's LucasArts for you. They like to ruin good things.
JediShemL 6 months ago
@JediShemL Yeah well usually they do a pretty good job, but lately they haven't given anything the fans want. No Battlefront 3, no KOTOR 3, Hell even a new Jedi Academy or Rouge Squadron would be nice. Instead they give us a pay to play MMO that no one asked for, even though the game will probably be epic.
kbizz640 6 months ago 2
@kbizz640: The problem with TOR that may end up being its downfall is it being a PC only game which is dying, MMO monthly subscription, and a poor economy. That combination could spell utter failure. I kind of hope it does fail because that maybe the message it takes for LucasArts to finally get it.
JediShemL 6 months ago
@JediShemL Yeah, I mean while people are slowly going away from pay to play type games, I don't think SWTOR will have any problems making money. I mean with all the hype that is surrounding this game, they'll have no shortage of players. What bugs me is that I feel like that they're sort of throwing the original TOR fans under the bus by just saying to hell with the consoles and straight to the PC. I think it was just a move to make the most money, which is disappointing.
kbizz640 6 months ago
@kbizz640: I don't think money will be an issue at first because of the hype. Bad games at first do well that are hyped enough. But long term maybe the problem. The money expected to keep the online service going from players and overall sales after the hype is gone could be the downfall. Besides, they have been working on this game for 6 years. A lot of money has been invested in it. 6 years of paying people to make it, etc. PC gaming is dying. The query is, will they make a decent profit? ;)
JediShemL 6 months ago
@JediShemL Yeah I suppose, but I don't think the game will do bad because honestly I have never played a bad Bioware game, and the game I have to admit looks pretty awesome, you don't find many MMO's that are fully voiced. And while I don't agree PC gaming is dieing at least not in the normal games that are multiplatform, but MMO's and RTS's might die out because there just isn't as big of an audience for it.
kbizz640 6 months ago
@kbizz640: To me the game looks outdated. And the reason for that is because they're using a game engine that is at least 6 years old. Some people won't care, but others won't. One thing that will tick people off will be the combat system.
BTW, statistics show that more and more people are converting to the console. That means less and less PC gamers. It's slowly dying. If that's hard to believe, just do a little research.
JediShemL 6 months ago
@JediShemL Yeah I get that but honestly all mmos look pretty behind on the graphics front but they make up for it in size, story etc. Yes while MMO and PC gaming might be declining there is still PLENTY of people left, I mean, i'll probably at least try the trial. PC gaming isn't dead enough YET to have a game as big as star wars to die quickly. I mean any thing is possible but unlikely. And hey, It's not like I want SWTOR to fail, it looks fun and is by a good company Just disappointed no KOTOR

@Vazarath: What would be the thing that would stop it from being able to be on a console?
JediShemL 4 months ago
@JediShemL Consoles are old and outdated, you can get a PC and it can handle much more than any consoles that are out right now. Also, Bioware developers have already ended the console debate.
Vazarath 4 months ago
@Vazarath: Your answer is vague. Meaning it doesn't explain why what I asked. Just so you know, TOR looks very outdated so I don't understand how a console couldn't handle it.
JediShemL 4 months ago
@JediShemL It's an MMORPG for fuck sakes! Have you ever seen a popular MMO be transferred well into a console? No. First of all, the profit wouldn't be nearly as much as on PC and the MMORPG fanbase on consoles is very slim.
Vazarath 4 months ago
@Vazarath: But that still doesn't explain why an MMO type game wouldn't work on a console. Because the last time I checked, PS3 and Xbox 360 have their own live networks where you can play games online and with multiple people at the same time. And they have mics to communicate with each other.

JSRFmaster1 3 months ago
I like Kreia's view on Revan here. I'd thought about Revan's character from KOTOR1 and saw him as the hero who stepped too far into evil to stop a greater evil. The brainwashing only pulled him back and let him see what he had resorted to to stop the Sith. MUCH better than, "I wuz all eevilz, nowz I am g00d & stuff."
SpartanSniper3 6 months ago

THIS IS UNCHANGEABLE AND FACT.
see wookieepedia for reference
starwarspowermetal 2 years ago 21
@starwarspowermetal TOR decided to 'modify' the story, basically disregarding most of the events of KOTOR 2. I call it dumbing down. TOR says that Revan fell to the dark side because of some sith emperor, and instead of kreia's explicit statement of Revan understanding the Force in a different way. When it comes down to it, Bioware saw it fit that since they are doing an MMO, it would be much easier to paint the protagonists and antagonists as armies of good/evil or jedi/sith.
