Most of what you see about the '80s today showcases the neon clothing, bangles, sequins and big hair of a society that seemingly did nothing but party. Manhunter is an excellent example of the other side of that era; a dark, dangerous world full of fear and corruption. The decay beneath the glitz.

Props to Mr.Mann and all of the actors and crew involved. This is a great film.

Brett Ratner's Red Dragon is highly above an average remake....but will never be in the same league as Manhunter.

This film was out of this world.

Manhunter was one of the greatest films ever, my all time favorite police procedural/psychological thriller film.

@metroraider Year. I think The Net was awesome thriller. The fact it wasn't Serial killer movie (it's technological thriller) doesn't mean it was bad. By the way, matrix stole so many ideas from The Net

I like Miami Vice. And im reading Red Dragon. The just dont seem to go together. The pestal colors of Mann's work in the 80's and the dark lifeless side of human life from the mind of Thomas Harris. eh.

Manhunter is a masterpiece, red dragon is just another average remake, simple as that, if people think red dragon is better than michael mann's 1986 version you know nothing about movies.

Id agree but then I saw Miami Vice the movie. There we AWESOME parts mind you but at least half of that thing was a stinker.
