  • This video makes me miss Pride even more.

  • this guy has the most heart ive ever seen in a fighter

  • i wonder how many arms sakuraba broke in his career lol

  • Comment removed

  • the gracie hunter foi de mais!!

  • i really couldnt see mayhem beating Sakuraba in his prime

  • lmao this dude is like krytonite to the Gracie and Brazil in general lol

  • Chuck Liddell, Sakuraba, Tank Abbott, i llike them and makes me sad to see them lose majority of their recent fights. its about time they retire, they should just teach new fighters.

  • I train in BJJ and Muay Thai, and I'll be quite honest with you, everybody who I train with, and myself have so much respect for this man. I mean, is he MY favorite fighter (That would be Werdum or Big Nogs), but he was VERY talented. I was sad (and happy) to see him lose to Jason Miller, but regardless, Sakuraba is a TREMENDOUS fighter. Anybody who does BJJ who hates him because he's the Gracie hunter needs to shut the fuck up. He's an MMA great, period.

  • Wanderlei Silva=knockout; Arona=knockout and... Minotouro=knockout. BRASILLLLLL!

  • @RSBORGHETTI umm Rogerio didn't knock him out. And don't forget Wandy=30lbs heavier, Arona=30lbs heavier and Rogerio=30lbs heavier.

  • @panther2552 Realmente, Rogério=decision

  • I almost cried..beat all those Gracies!~~~~~~

  • i love saku !

  • I am so glad to see that Saku has lots os fans like me! I think he was the best pound to pound and I miss real warriors like him! Honor and respect! Even a brazilian like me can see the value of this man... f*ck the Gracies, Saku is the best and the beast! =D

  • @kenokurose Kazushi Sakuraba kicked some ass. I like his style of judo v. Jui Jitsu.

  • The best warrior of all times!!!!

  • sakuraba was the champion without belt

  • the one and only Gracie Hunter.. the exhibitionist.. The one and only Saku!!!

  • Biggest heart ever. Smart. Took on some VERY serious challenges, especially with respect to his weight.

He really is a living embodiment of MMA, IMO.

  • it is a shame that nowdays there are no creative fighters like him , this guy would risk a fight just to prove the craziest thing passing on his mind

  • and Sak was usually fighting people at least 10 kg heavier. (except fr the odd Gracie match up) .. did not cut weight for weigh in at all - his fighting weight was his his walk around weight ...

  • UFC bitch fans are some of the dumbest little sluts on planet earth !, Just ignore them !

  • this video made me like u2... or at least this song

  • SAAAAAKUUUUURAAAAHHHHHHBAHHHHHHHHH

  • Kazushi has my respect hes one of the Tuffest japanese Fighters walking the face of this planet or atleast was at one time hed kick any of these poeples asses that hit the dislike

  • Best Japanese MMA fighter ever. This guy never refused a fight, he fought guys two weight classes heavier and he beat them. Beat Rampage, Belfort, the gracies and Randleman!

  • To understand how good Saku really was, you have to understand the context of what he was doing... the time, the competition, etc. I've never seen him fight a "safe" fight, or just trying not to lose. He always fought balls out, trying for a ko or sub. There are a lot of mma "fans" out there that have been fans since ufc was on spike, and love to see someone get ko'd... fair enough. But the true fan understands the game plan, the training, and most important, the history. Sakuraba=legend.

  • 25 people are fucking stupid i don't care if you hate mma or sakuraba or what ever this video is amazing

  • fought and actually beat people 20 pounds above his walking weight, let alone his fight weight... pride ruined him, but he'll always be a legend.

  • @timmyz55 can you tell me why pride ruined him

  • @InfoRoom They set him up with lots of ridiculous match-ups with people beyond his weight class... and he fought way beyond his prime. They also let matches that should've ended sooner to continue on for way too long... kinda sad watching him get beat up he's still my favorite fighter of all time. Dude fights with heart

  • @achaisi1 Thank you he was indeed amazing.

  • @timmyz55 He could've made 170, Him vs Matt Hughes would've been amazing.

  • sounds strange (beautiful day) in a video where show a lot of guys taking some punches , certainly the day for they was not beatiful .

  • Play this video mute the music pull up the pride theme song play that in the background best thing ever

  • It's sad to see how quick and agile he was back then and how he is now. He is slow and getting beaten way too easily. Sakuraba should retire.

  • fucking gracie needed steroids to beat him l0l XD

  • Living legend.

  • u2 works so good for this video.

  • 1:30 Armbar is my favourite. It would have been my favourite submission, but it wasn't submission :/

  • @Micek0Xearion I think he was doing it against Carlos Newton who was pretty good at that time

  • @Newbtuber yep newton was one of the best sub fighters in mma. former UFC welterweight champ.

  • @Micek0Xearion yeah, his leg was caught in newtons, it would be like trying to finish an armbar while still in someone's half guard i guess. but that was beautiful fight and i don't even think that many punches were even thrown. Rock on!

  • a arm just dont bend that way ouch

  • Thanks so much for sharing this awesome tribute to a true warrior & showman. I loved it! (i didn't even mind the U2!)

  • Very VERY Skillfull

  • the itzy bitzy spider climbed up the water spout

  • Belfort: stop kicking me...stop...dude, I'm serious, stop kicking me.

  • Kazushi has that "idgaf" look on his face... the calm Asian killer expression. I wouldn't even want to fight him for fun, let alone in a competition.

  • one of the many legends from PRIDE FC

  • Before I saw Sakuraba fight, I was kind of intrigued about MMA, but it was Saku that turned me into a fan

  • it never gets old to watch such a dominant performer that should be named with all the GREATS. wow

  • this man is such a dynamic wrestler... i really want to wrestle now because of him

  • Imagine if sakuraba would have fought at 170 throughout his carreer and adopted gsp like dry humping techniques. The guy would have stayed undefeated a long ass time

  • 1:47 is the secret to his greatness

  • People who shit on Sakurba for his losses are generally the same kind of people who LOVE Randy Couture even with his 11 losses. Both are undeniably legends of the sport of MMA.

People who look at the records without following the career of a fighter are just stupid in general, and their uninformed opinion means nothing.

  • @kmeyers that's so true, look at the guys saku took on. all heavier than him and lost the most, only the real great win against a bigger guy was randleman. anyway saku=legend

  • I feel sorry for kids that don't understand why Saku is held in such high regard.

He is a professional wrestler that got into fighting.

That he found success would be impressive enough, but he found....that he was like the most intelligent person to ever lace up.

He wasn't a beast. He had power, but not scary power. His technique, though, is one of the scariest things to ever hit the ring. Much like modern Silva; he made lifers look like they didn't have a clue what was going on.

  • Saku is the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter of all time.

  • i love to see this guy fight Jones in his prime, he would sweep the fighters.

  • Sakuraba, the reason i love mma.

  • Sakuuuu!!! simply the best, I think

  • Saku the legend...

  • Best grappler in the history of MMA.Fuck Rickson,Fuck Royce,Fuck Royler,Fuck Renzo. This guy is the true Submission master of MMA.

  • no man has the right to call Sakuraba a coward... He stepped in the ring with Rampage, Wanderlei, Cro Cop, Igor Vovchanchyn....muthafucking beasts

  • I want to learn from saku.

  • If you like Saku, guys, I suggest you search for Tsyoshi Kosaka too. He was great on the ground and an all round great fighter! The TK guard is named after him.

  • 1:47

    ^_^

  • Worst choice of music ever for an MMA video.

  • @chuckyko Nah it fits Saku perfectly

  • Man this highlight gave me goosebumbs. Only thing missing is the Galesic fight. Saku 4 lyfe.

  • Just goes to show that the BEST weapon is CREATIVITY ! Sakuraba is in my ALL TIME HALL for sure.

Is is one of the greatest of the sport without a doubt.

But it is the GREATEST in terms of CREATIVITY !

    SAKURABA is a LEGEND !

    Happy Birthday MASTER !

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAKU!!

  • hope he fights again

  • i can't understand any true mma fan who bases their opinion solely on wins and losses. real fighters take on anyone in their way and when you fight the best in the world you're not always going to come out on top. i dont love saku, wanderlei, and people like clay guida, couture, liddell etc. because of their w/l records. i like them because they put it all out there every time against the best.

  • @secon HOW ABOUT YOU STFU! How dare you compare all of those guys and put clay guida in? Dude is a fucking dick and he lay n pray one of the most exciting fighters in the lightweight divison you clearly have no understanding of MMA. Sakuraba Is the fucking amazing.

  • This guy is such an awesome memorable and admirable fighter. He is a living Japanese Legend. I am glad theres people speaking up for him in the messages speaking the truth about this fighter, downplaying all the haters

  • @gnawaserge tbh i can't understand a true MMA fan not being a Sakuraba fan. He embodies everything that's good about MMA.

  • @panther2552 he embodies everything good about sports competition. respect, sportsmanship, technique, charisma, courage, innovation, and humility.

  • @mikesaechao1 very true :)

  • fuck ufc noobs commenting on this video saying saku has a bad record, you had to BE THERE during his time to know

  • @KyokushinTruth I wasn't there during his time but I acknowledge the mastery of Sakuraba. A true mma fan will at the very least give Saku respect.

  • @KyokushinTruth IKR? Randy Couture has a bad record too, but nobody in their right mind would call him bad. Both of them are fucking legendary, and both of them have been around forever.

  • @KyokushinTruth Yeah. The problem with MMA noobs is that they think MMA is a pure numbers game and that the superficial appearance of a fighter's win/loss record is the only thing that counts. To them, the quality of opposition and conditions of the fights are irrelevant. Only the numbers count to them.

  • 桜庭の衰退が日本のMMAの衰退ですかね・・でも同じ時代で、リアルタイムで見られてよかった!ありがとう桜庭!

  • does this guy still fight

  • @road35 yes. obviously he's alot older now at 41 and not what he once was after all the wars with the giants. every now and then though his magic shows like his fight with zelg galesic.

  • @road35 yes. obviously he's alot older now at 41 and not what he once was after all the wars with the giants. every now and then though his magic shows like his fight with zelg galesic. gotta ask.. never heard of Sakuraba before?

  • @panther2552 good question, i have heard of him because of his fight with Cro Cop and W Silva but recently i have seen his fights in Pride.

I am really shocked i have never really paid attention to this guy because his fighting style isn't really anything iv ever seen before.

He accelerates at a pase iv never seen and when his guy is on the ground, his jumps are crazy.

4 sure he's a legend of the sport tho

I just wasn't to familiar with him.

  • @road35 right on. it's always cool to see someone seeing Saku for the first time. in his prime he was rediculously good.

  • @panther2552 Yeah eh, do you know what his record was?

  • @road35 26-13 and 1 nc. all but 2 of his losses coming to men who outwieghed him by 30lbs or so or these days a whole lot younger. 1 loss coming in the rematch to Royce Gracie, where Royce was caught on steroids, but the NSAC didn't have a rule for overturning deicsion at the time. Another loss (his first) coming to Igor Vovchanchyn which the decision was a draw in regulation. but Saku was too exhausted for an overtime round, having fought Royce for 90 mins that same night beating him.

  • @panther2552 Exactly! Anyone who doesn't respect Sakuraba do not have the slightest clue about great fighters or MMA as a sport, period! This guy revolutionized the game for the future of MMA. Look at most of these great submission grapplers now, alot were inspired by Saku heavily!

  • i find it ironic he kamura's or double wrist locks hte gracies. Its a move that still is in jujitsu out of nestalgia. its so much a catch move. its about pain and streangth.

  • 25 Gracie family members dislike this vid

  • @lordconcordia LMAO! Nice one!

  • @lordconcordia GOOD ONE XD

  • @lordconcordia fuck up cunt no one wants to hear from you

  • @blusuck yes , 106 persons

  • @lordconcordia no just you

  • Saku was the real deal. He made all theses fighters look stupid. Especially his fights against the so called Legendary Gracies. And fucked up the biggest shit talker of them all, Renzo Gracie with that wicked dislocation of his elbow. Ha, Ha. One man, disgraced the Gracie family lol

  • @Bassmastr100 Not really - he never tapped. Show some respect

  • "In Fact, Pro Wrestling is Very Strong" - Sakuraba

I bet Brock Lesnar would Agree.

  • I agree he's a great fighter and one the most exciting one in MMA history!

  • All those who disliked must be Gracies :)

  • Greatest fighter ever, u dont agree you are stupid stupid stupid

  • There is no "fake" like "Im a killer..", "..Im the best of all time..", "Im a angry pittbul" in him. Dude just doing the only thing that matters - what he loves, how he feels, enjoing and having fun. Thats how I feel

  • holy goddamn crap. that's awesome.

  • the gracie assassin lives on...

  • sakuraba... I love you but please, please, please retire, youve given us more then we could have asked for, its time to walk away

  • 2:30 lol ankle lock, didn't know you could submit someone this way

  • sakuraba was the p4p king

  • @trafficlightgl

    dont think so

  • @gungrave10 he was..stupid anderson silva fan

  • @trafficlightgl

well,im a sakuraba fanboys.basically means i love anything about sakuraba.the reason why i dont chose him to be the top p4p because, when u r the the king of p4p,u must have complete control of ur weight class, which sakuraba didnt.he defeated 3 times by wanderlei silva, which means he isnt the top p4p for his weight.he didnt fight anyone great at 185,well,he did(minowa, ryan),but not enought to be called the top 185.but if u said sakuraba is the greatest,i will agree with that.

  • @gungrave10 Wanderlei wasn't really in his weightclass bro while Saku fought at 205 in Pride his walk around weight was 183. MW in Pride was 205. Pride didn't have that weightclass back in the day only UFC did. Wandy weighed around 230 and cut to 205. Saku beat every fight within 20lbs of his weight and many more that were heavies up untill the age of 33, he later avenged that loss to schembri. he's beat 7 UFC champs, 3 Kings of Pancrase and even in his older years a Dream Grand Prix champ.

  • @panther2552

thats why i said he never be the top p4p.because his weight class is different and he never really dominate the 205,because he loss to wandy 3 times,he never be the top of the 205 class.thats what p4p rite?but if u said that saku the best of all time,i will agree.well, dont worry,im saku's fanboy.and im proud of that

  • @trafficlightgl anderson silva is a great in his own right...

  • I doubt we will see figther like Saku anymore =(

Where u can find a fighting like him??

Btw this is video clearly shows why UFC needs soccer kicks.

  • @redhatlt Takenori Sato may end up being a Saku like fighter. He's Saku's first student to win a championship atleast and did it very much how Saku use to do it.

  • I want a Saku shirt.

  • @ChrisAtWar93 hahahahahaha

  • sakuraba is the best on the ground game. But U2 is a fucking shit, to play with fighters highlight

  • @Brunothetigerheart tht song matches sakuraba perfectly dickhead

  • SAKURABA KAZUSHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ok lets see the wanderlei silva fight

no we don't wanna see that...he got his arse kicked 3 times

  • Lol randy couture's record wasn't to great either. it doesn't mean he's not a legend. Saku is the same way

  • A prime Sakuraba vs GSP under Pride rules in a ring now that would be a fight i would pay to see happen IMO

  • @Orionsbelt2010

yes,but i gonna go for saku..

  • crazy little bastard

  • anybody else watch this in mute?

  • @kmtatyou I kinde like the song so shut the fuck up

  • @hallokity123 your nans dead?

  • @kmtatyou dude.

  • @hallokity123 buh you told me to stfu :'(

  • @kmtatyou it's between u and me not me nanny fuckin garbage sucking old fart

  • @hallokity123 sorry you nans alive and kickin.....wel maybe not kicking

  • @kmtatyou dude.

  • @hallokity123 my apology's once again -.-

  • @kmtatyou accepted son.

  • This man have the guts to fight fighters bigger than him. Most fighters today are so quick to drop to a lower weight class to be competitive when they couldn't compete at their normal weight class. Don't look at his record against bigger opponents and said he not a great fighter.

  • Comment removed

  • @jimterror88 he beat wanderlei didnt he? both amazing fighters anyway :D

  • @jimterror88 he got lucky

  • @jimterror88 Wanderlei also had 30 lbs on Saku and when Wandy fought someone bigger he got his ass kicked too. size matters when elite fighters fight.

  • legend. also he is the most best fighter of japan

  • @lookupatsky1 most best fighter? the best fighter. you english fucking sucks

  • @hallokity123 oh thanks, dutch baby. you are really really baby.

  • @lookupatsky1 you are really really baby? you are really really acting like a baby of you are really really a baby... dude shut up you are embarressing your self..

  • @hallokity123 so what were you want to say? dont forget you started. you said my english is FUCKING sucks, so ok thats right, you are right, great. I guess you can speak different grammar language. dont forget here is not your website. quit weird comment. im not boring person. so i will finish to talk with baby.

  • @lookupatsky1 you know what, I will stop iritating you just because patsky is my nickname in real life.

  • @hallokity123

dude, stop you sent me worthless message to me in channel. ty for funny times. he is serious.

  • I'm tired of people who just go a look at saku's record on wikipedia and say oh he has 14 loses. none of this people saw sakuraba live and have no idea what those wins meant and the loses were against bigger guys who were all legends. sakuraba is the in my top list of mma fighter of all time

  • @U1608

the fact that he doesnt cut weight just add to his awesomeness.

  • @U1608 Lol he fucked the gracies in the ass

  • @rangedat he beat the gracies when it meant a lot. that is something that a lot of new fans fail to understand because the gracies have not been relevant for a while.

  • @U1608 not too mention that Sakabura fought guys most of the time that were 20+ lbs heavier than him.

  • @U1608 One of my top favs too! I wish he would have competed in the Abu dhabi. He was a submission king!

  • @U1608 ikr and everyone losses eventually

  • @U1608 so true i'm sick of it i've seen saku's fights even his loses were some of the best fights in mma and to the best mma fighters in the world

  • @U1608 i pity those people. they either didn't get to experience sakuraba in his prime or they're just idiots. sakuraba was a magician. he's special. one of a kind. like stephen quadros said, he always left a fight with a signature. something that stayed with u. i've seen alot of mma but nothing has compared to the moments i got to watch sakuraba. i still watch his fights with newton and white and study his genius. i watch his first fight with wand and admire the courage it took to go toe to toe

  • @mikesaechao1, that's right. Most of today's MMA fans unfortunately were not around in those days to understand the magnitude of his wins against the Gracies. He was the first to defeat a second generation Gracie. At time it sent shock waves in MMA because among many things it took away the aura that BJJ had. He liked to push his limit against bigger guys. His biggest losses are result of it. I will always wonder how different his career would be now had he only fought within his weight class

  • @U1608 i don't wonder. pretty much noone would bother talking about Anderson Silva or GSP as GOAT. Fedor would still get mentioned i reckon. He might actually have been healthy enough to be dominant at his age today aswell. (though that part of it is a guess i grant lol)

  • @U1608 yep, it used to be if a bjj guy took your back you were done. but sakuraba came out with that sick kimura. that remains my favorite move till this day. everyone wanted a piece of sakuraba. he was being called out left and right by bigger guys. hendo, wand, vitor, frank shamrock to name a few.....think about that for a second. at the time those guys were in their prime and they went after sakuraba. that's ALOT of respect and even more amazing is those 4 guys i named are mma greats.

  • u forgot ken shamrock and rampage jackson in the beginning but damn good highlight for this ufc champ and mma legend!

  • If Sakuraba fight with Wanderlei Silva...Sakuraba is Fuckin DEAD!

  • @diegodiniz And Silva got KOed by Mark Hunt. So everyone has his own Achilles Heels. Plus Silva was heavier than Saku.

  • BEST HIGHLIGHT EVA!! SakurabaFan1

  • Yes ill admit he is a ledgend but his stats are 26-14-1 witch isnt the best. He isnt like anderson silva or Wanderlei silva. But i guess it is alright as long as you have more wins than losses.

I'm curious to know what you hardcore sakubare fans think of it.

PS: No im not a sakubara hater, in fackt im fan of him

  • @kei950 you can look at it like this bro. he's got 14 losses. look at who most of those losses are to.1 to Igor Vovchancyn (fight was a draw, but Saku's corner threw in the towell cuz he was too exhausted for overtime, he fought Royce Gracie 90 mins that same night) 3 losses to Wandy, Wandy had 30lbs on him by fight time. (when Wandy fought men bigger he was crushed aswell.) Lil Nog, another that had 30lbs. Cro Cop another 30-40lbs and Saku was winning the fight before the injury. ....
