The only reason I'm afraid of death is how it's going to happen. I don't want my last images to be some freak cutting out my intestines or in an airplane crash with dozens of annoying women screaming all at once.. If it's when I'm old and sick, I'm good with that... I really don't care what happens at that point. I'll actually be quite excited for death and welcome it with open arms. When you die you get buried in the ground. Hopefully somewhere that will become swampy or under the ocean. That way millions of years later if you turn into fossil fuels creatures will dig you up and burn you. The carbon dioxide from burning your crushed remains will float in the atmosphere for a few hundred years before getting used by the plants which die and get buried and then turned into fossil fuels and the cycle goes on. This is my opinion, after you die, NOTHING happens to you. its quite logical you know, your brain is letting you feel etc, so when the heart stops beating and there goes no more oxigen to the brain, it dies, as do you.

The only reason I'm afraid of death is how it's going to happen. I don't want my last images to be some freak cutting out my intestines or in an airplane crash with dozens of annoying women screaming all at once.. If it's when I'm old and sick, I'm good with that... I really don't care what happens at that point. I'll actually be quite excited for death and welcome it with open arms. It's about acknowledging the fact that there is life after death (Heaven/ Hell) May Allah/God guide you in the right direction. Just ask yourself this: What is the PURPOSE of life? When you die you get buried in the ground. Hopefully somewhere that will become swampy or under the ocean. That way millions of years later if you turn into fossil fuels creatures will dig you up and burn you. The carbon dioxide from burning your crushed remains will float in the atmosphere for a few hundred years before getting used by the plants which die and get buried and then turned into fossil fuels and the cycle goes on. It's the carbon cycle.

Eh, when you die it doesn't matter, your thoughts, memories, and anything that makes you an individual with consciousness are stored within your brain, within cells, once the cells die, the information within them is lost, and you lose your ability to think, be unique, make decisions, etc. There is NOTHING after death, because your brain isn't around to tell you there is. If something happens to your body/soul/w.e you personally would never know or understand, as your brain does that, when alive

He also told Saul that he and his sons would be with him (Samuel) the next day. Every NDE and ghost sighting prove that your interpretation of the bible is wrong.

it was Sauls conclusion that this old man was "Samuel" that he was talking to. But was it? no, the Bible shows that when you die, you soul die, and it clearly says in books like Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10
that there is nothing for the dead.
But who was it? Its only one answer to that, an evil spirit.

You may try to explain it away, but the word 'Samuel' is right there big and bold. Reality may get you disfellowshipped, but it will be worth it in the long run.

@PrinsRupert ::: You have misread 1 Chron 29:29 They were written IN THE BOOKS of the individuals mentioned, not by them. If you wish to say that the bible was wrong when it said "Samuel said to Saul", then I will return the gesture by saying the bible is wrong about what you tell me it says. You are telling me the bible record is inaccurate, that it does not mean what it says. I do not regard the bible as authoritative, but believe this because of prior knowledge how the spirit world works.

@k0smon According to ancient Jewish tradition, the first part of the book is written by Samuel, while the rest are written by Nathan and Gad. That these three prophets were writers, is confirmed by 1 Chronicles 29: 29
You can also google these names and find the answer there. Judges, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel = Samuel / Nathan / Gad - 1000 - 900 B.C.

@PrinsRupert ::: 1 Chron 29:29 does NOT confirm that. It only says they were written IN their books, not BY them Not being Jewish I am not familiar with Jewish tradition. There were 6 people named Nathan in the OT (per bible dictionary) Mathew Mark Luke and John were not written by the named persons. No one knows who wrote them. The writer of Samuel is likewise unknown.

The bible does not specifically say it was wrong. Those are just your words. I will remain adamant that when the bible says "Samuel said to Saul" that that is absolutely correct. You can waffle around this simple and absolute statement all you want, but the statement remains, even in your own NWT. Samuel said it, I believe it.

It says in the NWT - Saul then understood that it was "Samuel"... This was Sauls understanding, not the authors understanding.

"Those are just your words" No they are not my words, as i can show you the Bible clearly says that the dead does not speak or think or feel or act or anything as showed in Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10. It also shows that the soul dies if it sins, and based upon this one can say for certain that this person was not Samuel.

@PrinsRupert ::: But you fail to see how contradictory the bible is. In 1 Samuel 28 :15, it says Saul talked to Samuel. In Eccl 9:5 "the dead know not anything". THAT IS A DIRECT CONTRADICTION !! The bible is full of them. I know you are not allowed to read it, but sneak a peek at "Jesus, Interrupted" by Bart Ehrman, a 280 page book on the contradictions and errors in the bible. Be sneaky so you won't get disfellowshipped.

@k0smon No it is not, you think it is because you belive Sauls word that he saw Samuel, and that is because you already have made an opinion on this (truth starts with what you belive/think/feel)
And again the answer to verse 15 is found in verse 14, the author wrote down what Saul belived, that he saw Samuel. He wanted to se Samuel, and the person (the demon) pretended to be Samuel showed himself in his likeness and made Saul belive he saw Samuel risen from the dead.

Whoever wrote the statement knew what was going on when he wrote "Samuel said to Saul". Why do you continue to insist that the writer of 1 Samuel was wrong when he reported this? After all, is this not considered to be "the inspired word of God"?

This is wrong, I dont insist that the writer was wrong, but I do insist that Saul was wrong when he said he saw Samuel. The author wrote what happened, in a sincere form of writing down acutaly events as they unfolded.

Some words about this particular subject.
When Saul went to the medium, Jehovah had already in advance pulled his holy spirit back from him and would not answer his requests, neither by dreams, by Urim (as the high priest used) or through the prophets. (1.Samuel 28:6) Jehovah God would not have more to do with him, and his prophet Samuel had not seen him for a long time, not since David had been anointed to be king.

Can the soul die? those who belive that the body dies but one can still live without it must say yes. But the Bible tells another story.
Ezekiel 18:4 Behold, all souls are Mine. As the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is Mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.
If you sin, you will die, and you means your body (as in your flesh, it will turn to dust/earth) and soul(that you are a living breathing creature, you will cease to exsist).

Here are som Bible refrences. Soul means in hebrew nephesh.
Genesis 2:7 The LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath (ruach) of life, and the man became a living being/soul (nephesh)
He was not given a soul, or put in a soul to man before he became living, he became a soul because his hearth began pumping and loungs began breathing thanks to God given him the breath of life.

The thoughts about being able to live without your body is one of the oldest thoughts, and also one of the oldest lies. Many belive the Bible says we have a soul that can live after death, but the truth is it tells we ARE souls and that when we dies, one ceases to exist. The only thing that do exist is in Gods memory (the Bible calls it that your name must be in the book of life) and that means your dna, that you can be brought back to life.

@k0smon How can you call Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10 and Ezekiel 18:4 for "interpretation"? It clearly says that the soul dies. The Bible also tells us that soul (nephesh) is the blood in a creature, and not something that can live outside without a body (Leviticus 17:14 Deuteronomy 12:23 many bibles translate hebrew word nephesh with life instead of soul) what happend to the spirit? Ecclesiastes 12:7 says :

Spirit return to God, is that your soul? no, the hebrew word for soul is nephesh, and the word for spirit is ruach. Its the same ruach that gave life to Adam, and all ruach belongs to God since he is the spring and giver of life.

I have never seen a ghost or a spirit, and don't believe such things exist. I would, however, be open to any giving me evidence of them.

when u die your soul will go into heaven, and your body will stay. Life after death will pretty much be like when u were in your dad old wrinkly ball sack. then u will be reincarnated into a new human body with no memory of what previously happened in your last life. this is what i think anyways
