@GCLU man, after reading that, i don't get why people are comparing plank to zel. Zel literally looked at the money, and went hey, I want this, no one will be the wiser, and attempted to lie about it. Plank made a bad finance decision, and the "stolen" money was paid to the venue because cheapass smashers crammed nine people to a room in the hotel. Plank didn't profit a cent off of the business, nor was it done with malicious intent, and he publicly apologized to the community about it

@GCLU That was because the amateur brackets were paid for at the venue, so the cash never went through the same process the rest did. My friend laijin won the melee amateur bracket, and therefore made the most profit of anyone at PV lol ($200+change)

Do you have any idea what you're talking about?

First off, Bombsoldier rarely ever plays anymore, so it wouldn't be fair. Secondly, this was freaking Zelgadis in 2006. Thirdly, Bombsoldier would get absolutely wrecked by a lot of smashers today. IE. Mango, M2K, Armada, Amsah, Zhu, Dr. PP, Silentspectre, DaShizWiz, Hungrybox; basically anyone.

This video is a lot older than it shows because YouTube wasn't around when this was first posted and was just posted on DC++(the hub). Shined Blind overall probably has like 300-500,000 views, more than any other out there =P

Sakurai said melee was 13 months of his life and his master piece. This was like 3 months ago, but Wii can still play GCN games and if they upgraded anything it could change a lot of things which the competitive scene would look down on, having to start metagame all over might as well make a sequel. They can always emulate it, not change a thing, I hope they do that in 10 years or so to keep the game alive, who wants to have to dust off old GCNs every time a tourney rolls around.

To be fair, my respect and appreciation for this video hasn't changed upon learning about what Zelgadis did. His crime was terrible, but it occurred today in 2011, not back in '06. My opinion on Trebor has significantly lowered, but that doesn't mean this video's status as a classic should be tainted along with this.

These DBR videos got me into smash on a competitive level. Had I not seen them, I wouldn't be playing melee today. I'd probably be a lame Brawl player satisfied with tripping.
