  • Fucking awful movie, love it!!!!!!! I remember staying up many a night watching MST3K, Im glad they are still doing it!!!

  • I have to say i like the Cinematic Titanic setup better then Rifftrax if only because you see the silholuttes of the guys on CT. It makes it a better viewing experience. On Rifftrax you never see Mike, Kevin or Bill. The movie starts and their is no intro or nothing. They just start right in on the riffing.

  • @dsfddsgh It's apparent you've never paid for a RiffTrax file, Captain Blackbeard. They all have intros.

  • "It's official, they've made me hate fun" has permanently entered my personal lexicon. I use it with alarming frequency.

  • @JBWarner86 Same here !

  • Come feed from my many nipples its eggnog OMG I ABSOLUTELY DIED WHEM HE SAID THAT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What's the difference between this and Rifftrax? I M confuzled. X(

  • @NodDisciple1 Those involved, really. This is the original MST3K creative team at work, where as rifftrax is Mike Nelson and Co. Personally, I find rifftrax to be much too mean spirited and obvious with their riffs and prefer the whimsy in Cinematic Titanic.

  • @NodDisciple1 Besides the people involved, Rifftrax usually sells just the riffs as an audio file, making you find the movies themselves (but allowing them to mock more big blockbusters), while Cinematic Titanic sells the whole package (restricting them to the same sort of forgotten low-budget pictures that MST3K used). Also because of this, Rifftrax is way more prolific (having dozens of movies and shorts compared to CT's ten DVDs), but CT makes up for it with live shows.

  • Run, Trace, run!

  • your coming in too cheap pull up pull up

    lol

  • Weak. Very, very weak.

  • The original from MST3K is much, much better. One or two good lines, but most are just boring.

  • It's just not a Patrick Swayze Christmas without Tom Servo.... or Patrick Swayze. :(

  • @russ2246 Yeah man, Tom Servo Rocks!

  • @coolcody1995 i agree dude, tom Serve is da bomb

  • @russ2246 I know, RIP Patrick Swayze. T_T

  • "You stupid fat bastard you're killing us with your Pollyana routine!"

  • Was that a TARDIS popping up? Lol, nice commemoration on the Christmas Specials.

  • 0:10 !

  • I love how Trace (or maybe Joel?) starts running for the hills before they go into the theater. Oh, and all hail The Doctor.

  • @sgtpoodlepants It was Trace.

  • 0:26: "Everyone knows where Santa lives"--thanks to Megan's Law!!!

  • I wish I had their job. It's my dream job.

  • They re-riffed this movie? As great as this movie is, that's really kind of, dare I say, counterproductive.

  • @jeannec1 They riped it on mst3k so this is the second time lol

  • Please do not illegally download these. Actually PURCHASE them from Cinematic Titanic. Then we can all see more cinematic titanics, any time its illagally downloaded you guys are hurting the integrity the crew has to make the show. Purchase Rifftrax too!

  • You're right, but there's no way to stop some people

  • I actually watched the full riff not long after I made that comment, so I found for myself but thanks for telling me :)

Still, it would have been incredibility awesome if the Doctor had actually shown up though......

  • im happy that half of the MST3K guys are doing this. While the other half are doing Rifftrax. It's a good mixture

  • Why the heck does the TARDIS pop up? Is the Doctor going to join in on the riffing?

  • I think I just had a nerdgasm.

  • I wanna know that too.

  • "Ok, its official, they made me hate 'FUN'..."

  • "Happy national point a gun at a kid day"

  • "You won't get away with this you-you Martians!"

"OOO can't believe he dropped the M bomb like that"

  • My favorite joke from the original show was after the m-bomb thing, "Santas gonna cut you, man! Santas a blade man, man!"

  • Dude.... Was that the TARDIS at one point, or was it just a regular old phone booth without the hot Time Lord?

  • My thought's exactly!

  • Sure looked like it to me, but knowing comedians these days they're probably going to make fun of anybody who watches Doctor Who, either because it's science fiction or because it's British-take your pick. That's the world we live in. I just can't figure out how they're going to jump from riffing on this goofy movie to flaming people for watching Doctor Who. I guess the whole Mars thing?

  • @KendraSwan Joel is a Time Lord

  • @KendraSwan Well, they did make a Dr. Who joke in the MST3K version of this, so it's quite possible.

  • Pyroz, they are currently on tour. They were just in phoenix for the past two nights. Not sure where they're going next. You could probably google their tour and find out where they're gonna be. I got to meet Joel Hodgeson and the rest of the gang. It was totally awesome.

  • Well whining should help! Hahahaha!

Oooh, I can't believe he dropped the M bomb like that. lol

I want to see the full episodes damn it!

  • Seeing these guys live tomorrow night in AZ! Can't Wait!

  • Lucky! Wait how can you see them live?

  • 0:11 funny and also the exact same way i would do if i had to see a bad movie

  • AWESOME! Now I'll have to buy this is make it part of my traditional Christmas Eve viewing of the MST3K version of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians!

  • LOL at Joel dancing at 0:09!

One of those things that make the new silhouette layout one of the most perfect ideas.

  • That's so funny..... And Bearotic!!

  • Every time I watch this clip, I get "Ho ho ho, ho ho ho" stuck in my head.

    ;P

  • woot!

  • Poor Trace! Running scared and then dragged kicking and screaming back into the "viewing room"!

  • "Headbutt."

  • A friend of mine sent me this for Christmas; I can't wait to see it! The MST3K version was great too.

  • So good! I was curious to see how they could re-do this, but it came out great! Hey, CT! Arch Hall Jr. has more films to riff, and the guy that made 'Girl's Town' also did other similiar movies. :)

  • To those who asked: Yes, that is a TARDIS. With a laser cannon on top. Why? Well, it's Christmas!

  • maybe to travel back in time and destroy this movie before it was ever made?

  • "Okay, it's official. They've made me hate fun."

    XD

  • OMG, that Nipples line bordered on wrong!!! LMAO!

  • I gotta say, I was skeptical of the CT crew tackling a previously-MSTed movie...let alone the one voted second-favorite in a fan poll. Then I saw this trailer. And I have to say that, in spite of my initial misgivings, this look like it may actually be FUNNIER than the MST3K version. If the trailer is an accurate indicator of overall riffing quality, we might be in for a new holiday classic here.

  • They did this live at the st. louis show.

Believe me, It is even funnier than the mst3k version.

  • Then it has to be pretty damn good!

  • "Gather 'round and feed from my many nipples! It's eggnog!"

    Still got it.

I'm dying to see them live...

  • these guys are the greatest i met them at dragoncon08 and they are so nice this ep is going to be great i already got it ordered

  • 0:51 Oh, oh-oh-oh, I forgot to aska bout this the first time I saw this. What's up with the TARDIS? It's nice to see an homage to the "British" genre of television.

  • why do they feel the need to redo this?

  • "It's official. They've made me hate fun" is a classic in the making.

  • LOL!!

I don't know what it is, but that line in the clip just made me laugh long and loud. Maybe it's the way Mary Jo says it.

  • This sounds so awesome.

  • I just watched the MST3K version of this not long ago from a recorded tape and it will be interesting to see this version now.

  • Wow. I still don't know how I feel about this one yet, but I love Josh's Christmafied theme song :D

  • I think it's great they're taking another crack at this one.

  • Martians suck. Always have.

  • Put the riffers on the ground - standing in front of the screen if you have to (can the owner of MST3K actually own ppl sitting in front of a movie screen??) and get them out of the way of the screen. *sigh* And at 1:02 "You stupid ... " hilarious. 5*

  • I was a little skeptical of them retrading old ground with this movie, but after seeing this, I'm all in. Love the Santa-themed CT theme.

  • I dunno why, but DO "Mitchell" next!

  • Ha, this was such a surprise. What a cool idea. Now I'll have two Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

  • Excellent! This was my favorite MST3K film, so great to see it redone.

  • This should be fun. I loved the MST3K episode and I like the fact that they aren't just rehashing the same riffs from the episode and that they wrote new ones. Plus the fact that there are extra scenes.

  • Like everyone else, I'm cautious as to whether any new guffaws can be culled from this source which was so richly mined a-ways back.

But hey; these are the professionals, not us. So let's just let them guide us what will prove to be a holiday classic. Again.

Thanks, Joel and company; Shadowramma forever!

  • :50-The T.A.R.D.I.S. ?

  • I thought that too. I'm not sure, but those look like sonars and guns attached to the top or something. I'm downloading this ep now, so I'll let you know if they clear it up.

  • I dont think anything could beat the original Mst3k version of this.

  • Not bad....but hard to top the original classic.

  • I love national point a gun at a kid day! The re-imagining of the theme was a nice touch. I can't wait for this one :)

  • "It's official -- you've made me hate fun." Great.

  • Admittedly I was leery about them re-covering old ground. But after seeing that, maybe there's more good ol' riffing magic still be be had with that old MST3K classic. I think I'll give the CT crew the benefit of the doubt here and give it a try.

  • Is that a Tardis at 0:50?

  • I saw it too....

  • It's like revisiting an old friend again, only this time no robots! This is going to be a sweet(bitter) reunion between the CT team and Santa after so many years!

  • Can't wait to get this one in the mail, I've got all the CTs so far.

  • "Uhh, we got a runner on CT7."

  • heeheehee why do i get the feeling they're going to get more than they bargained for living in this movie-riffing environment. }:¬]

  • I think they're trying to get more Misties on the CT Bandwagon. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

  • Oh my! I can't wait to see what they'll make of it this time around. And what a super awesome version of the theme tune... roll on 11/20!

  • Joel said in an interview that this is just an little experiment because he was curious to see what it would be like to revisit an old movie from the MST days. I can understand that, but I doubt that beyond this they would even want to do any more MST era movies. How boring would that be for them? I think SCCTM is the perfect movie to revisit if they are going to do that. It's so awful that I'm sure there could easily be more than two riffed versions made, and they would all be funny.

  • This will probably be the first CT I'll buy. So far I haven't given CT a try because all of the movies they've riffed have just seemed to "icky" for me. I dislike gore, even cheap 70s gore, and most of their previous releases have seemed a bit along the line of exploitative nastiness of "Squirm," a MST3K episode I always avoid for the same reason.

Good ol' Santy Claus ought to be a welcome return to familiar, non-grossout territory.

  • How was DOOMSDAY MACHINE and THE WASP WOMAN "icky"??

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just when I thought I would be safe from the horror of "SCvtM", IT RETURNS!!!! WILL WE EVER BE SAFE!!!????

  • I agree with craftergin: I hope this isn't a trend. I'm sure everything will be great, yes, and well worth the $10 to download... but there are thousands of movies worth riffing out there, and MST3K riffed a little less than 200 of them. It is really time to revisit one of the classic MST3K episodes?

  • Though, if the Rifftrax guys took it on, too, then that might prove interesting...

Still hoping it's not a trend.

  • thanks 4 posting this. HIII-LARIOUS!!

  • It's just not the same without Patrick Swayze Christmas. . .

  • Boy, I don't know. Aren't there enough bad movies Christmas movies to riff? Nevermind, I KNOW there are.

This redux idea makes me feel kinda weird. Like disloyal. I love MST3K and I am like CT VERY MUCH. I hope this isn't a trend.

I'll bet Jim Mallon is pissed!

  • There are lots of bad X-Mas movies, but there are probably only so many that CT could get the rights to riff.

  • I think Jim Mallon produces this show with the CT crew.

  • Jim Mallon has nothing to do with this. If he did, I seriously doubt Mary Jo would be involved.

  • Why not? Did Jim and Mary Jo not get along? Please explain.

  • Yeah, Mary Jo didn't really didn't get along well with some of Mallon's ideas on the show and stuff. Or so I have heard on the MST3 forums.

  • Thank you. I had no idea. Backstage drama unheard of for Mst3k.

  • Wrong. Satelite News has stated there was never any tension between crewmembers. The stuff on the forums was just flame bait made by people upset about Joel leaving the show.

  • Ha! Nice redux on the CT theme.

  • I agree, pretty awesome!

  • At one point it sounds like Gypsy is singing the theme.

By the way was that Joel trying to run away?

  • I'm guessing that was Trace running away in terror.

  • No it sounded more like Joel

  • nope, that was tv's frank...trust me

  • ...and who could blame him? ;D

  • I approve of this. The original MST3K isn't going anywhere. Now we have two of them.

  • I do sooooo luv Droppo!

  • AAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!! HUZZAH!!!

  • WE HAVE A RUNNER!!!!!!

  • SO so soooooo excited!!!!!

  • Isn't really Christmas without Droppo, now is it?

  • If you are on their email list, you would have read:

...Theres all new jokes plus several more minutes of the movie that were cut for time on the MST3K episode.

While we were aware that this choice of movies might spark controversy with some fans, we thought it would be a compelling experiment to see what re-visiting a movie all these years later would produce...turns out the answer is hilarity.

  • So CT is now treating the Comedy Central years like the Comedy Central years treated the KTMA ones (namely, a breeding ground for revises).

  • Strange concept. I can't not associate this film with MST3K. I'll be interested to see how this goes.

  • Are you kidding? This is one the first ones MST3K did. It was AMAZING - buy it.

  • Shh, it's okay. I do own the MST3K version of this film -- and yes, I'm on their mailing list and I did see the promise of new material. REGARDLESS, I'm going to have a difficult time not quoting Joel Robinson instead of Joel Hodgson whenever I watch the flick -- that's all. :)

  • Oh man, this looks like fun!

And was that a Tardis floating up at 0:49?
