you got 12,000 miles out of one set of tyres?! my last set on my gixer i only had 3,200 miles on them before i had to change em, they were crappy out of the factory bridgestone ones tho... were down to threads :-/ oops
hey i like you're videos i just spent most of my day off watching most of them lol (sad i know) i have the same bike i bought it 2 weeks ago and haven't riden it yet. Im going to wait until april to get insure and tag it but anyway i like you're vids man i home you make more soon!!
@kkingss4 Man, I wonder how you can stare at that bike and not ride it until april! That is just unheard of! Haha. Well, I am really excited you like my videos, thanks for watching them. :) I feel honored you wasted your day watching my crap haha :D
Geez! I go offline fora few months and you trade bikes...a lot =-0 What happened to the VFR? Guess I have some catching up to do.
My advice: Take the bike to a good auto detailer/body shop. They can make that scratch go away with a bit of polishing compound. Probably won't cost a whole lot either...
@L0udP1p35 I got rid of the VFR because I wanted a more reliable bike in better condition. The VFR need brake work, and the rotors were a little warped, so I didn't feel like dumping the money into the bike when I wanted to try something different anyway. When I got the 919, it was really awesome, just it constantly left an exhaust odor on my clothes, and I was craving something more sporty. So then I sold that and bought an F4i practically brand, <1,000 miles, new for the same price.
I think the designers of modern bikes add the mirrors as an after-thought. It's an issue of form over function. My bike's mirrors won't adjust so I can see what is behind and beside me either.
@ToastToGo Hehe... Sorry, I should have been clearer. They adjust but not far enough outward and they are too close to the bike so I can't really see past my arms and what is behind me. They needed to stick out further from the front cowling.
Eh, my bike is scratched, dirty, has duck tape on it, and old. But it runs and it rides......thats what counts! lol Maybe one day I will own a nice enough bike where I will get pissed when I scratch it....one day.....one day (sobbing silently)
@braceyoself777 Well what's great about your bike is that you can ride the hell out of it and not worry too much about scratches and stuff...which rules. I have a feeling I'll not care as much in the future about small scratches because I'll have accumulated many :P
@suburbanryder Speaking of new shield, I need one for my Scorpion helmet. But I will most likely leave the scratch there because I'll probably just make it worse if I tried anything.
Dude my local dealer finally got an old beat up 929, got to sit on it. And remembered just how much I LOVE sport bikes even after all these years on a scooter and an MX.
Man it's gotta be nice to walk out to your garage and see a sweeeeet bike sitting there just for you.
@twistedkeys1 It is nice. I enjoy my motorcycle, only real eyesore when looking at it is th HUUUUGE exhaust can the bike has hahah. Other than that, she is beautiful.
btw, that scratch sucks ass, but you said it right, "oh well" bike still runs the same, and now I say "fvk the scratch, bike sticks and moves" thats all I care about!
adjust your mirrors bro, forward and to the side.... No problems at all, then again, I've been riding with no mirrors for over a year... Great habit to "ALWAYS" check your sides and blind spots... even with mirrors!
Wilks is right. Get some extra-fine polishing compound, a wet rag and go at it. Don't put too much pressure on it. Wax it good when finished. You'll love those Pilot Road II's! :)
@XXX526 On a second though...I don't know about the polishing compound. I remember tring to fix my windscreen and messed it up haha. Maybe I'll find someone to do it for me that knows what they are doing...or just leave it. :)
i love how my SV always starts. it's sat for... 2.. 3.. 3.5 months. went in the garage, turned the key on.. waited a second, hit the button.... no throttle, it started in less than 6 seconds.. first try.
I had set my bag on a metal table that had recently been refinished. The magnets picked up some metal shards and I didn't realize it. Made me sick when I lifted the bag to take it off the tank. I have not used the tank bag much since then.
Hey Toast..just remember to be careful for the first hundred miles or so with those new tires...new tires have a film on them from manufacturing that makes them really slick. Either hit them with some sandpaper and scuff them up or just do a nice burn out...that will help the rear tire anyway...not so much for the front.
No the mirrors on sport bikes just suck. I've always had the same problem on any sport bike i've ever owned. I just ordered some crg bar end mirrors hopefully they actually be usable but I just wish they were not so expensive
@dprider02 The most I've got on a rear tire so far is 6,000 miles, and it still had plenty of tread left. Since I plan on keeping this bike until I'm making good money (no time soon), I should be able to test it its life.
My f4 is a great bike too.. Almost the same as you're.. Comfortable for a supersport.. And yeah the mirrors do suck unless you want a good view of your elbows... Lol
@cybrnathan I've seen the older gsxr750's mirrors, they look kind of long...I was wondering if those would be better than my current mirrors and if they would bolt up to my fairing.
@azwakko Bar end mirrors are the way to go...unfortunately they reduce the space for your hand on the grips (at least the cheaper ones), and my hands are already massive.
@dlinquencious YUP! They sure are factory tires. And the bike is a 2006 haha. I know for a fact they don't have much grip, I'm so excited for my new ones.
@Wilks89 I haven't tried rubbing compound, just tried buffing it out with a towel and some paint quick wax. I will try some rubbing compound in a little bit.
Oooopyss that cracked me up lol

I don't think that I've ever gotten much more than 5000 miles or so out of a rear tire. Anyway, it'll be good to get that new rubber on the bike.
Wonder if you could get extenders for the mirrors?
