I really like using Mai, she's not complicated or anything, but to be any good with her you have to be really good at poke wars/spacing with normals/etc., and just playing smart in general. I find it hard to use her well in high level play against players at your own level, simply because she doesn't have as many options as other characters(Trying to fight someone of equal skill using Flame iori with her is so ridiculous, but then again, it's flame iori) Kinda frustrating, but Mai is Mai.
@shougoh I agree, in my opinion you have to constant avoid zoning with mai and impose air jumping and close or mid range fight, still my fav characters with yuri, king , ryo and kyo

I was gonna consider her because of the damage on those corner combos but after what you said about her not having very many tools or whatever I'll pass... I actually am still considering getting this game... :/

@ArticSABCA Mai only can combo Ukihane after j.D or j.B. But the problem is that nothing can follow Ukihane, since Ukihane knocks down the enemy. Only if Ukihane is covered you can follow with a Musasabi and if any stop covering your Musasabi will enter, but if your Ukihane enter first, your Musasabi will hit nobody... Maybe Ukihane can be used as finisher, like her air throw, but not sure about this...
Hmm, no uses of her aerial command normal (Ukihane) for even a few beginner / intermediate combos, DDTC? Not the fanciest or most useful thing, but I'd figure it could fit in there SOMEWHERE! (Such as Jump D -> j.d+B), of maybe somehow useful in an HD combo, or to change jump trajectory for Musasabi no Mai shenanigans.
Otherwise, great stuff, as we've come to expect from you! Made Mai's moveset look well put together. Yuri's should be really fun to watch...

Also, for comboing off a low, i'd recommend crouching lk crouching lp instead of cr.lk cr.lk standing lp. More consistent in terms of range and easier to do. You can do that into ex ryuenbu into whatever.

Basically, she's good as a point character when neither character has that much meter. You win out in neutral and then get them where you want them positionally(just a little past the middle line) so you can easily turn 1 bar and maybe 1 stock into 50% life. EX ryuenbu is great for bother pressure and combos, so hit confirming isnt really an issue.
I definitely miss her command normals and options off wall leap, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.
I don't think she really NEEDS more. She has great normals,(Standing LK is even on block and has a great hitbox, far HP and far HK are good antiairs, her crouching and standing lp are great, all of her jumping normals are great, her j.cd is fantastic, her ground CD is pretty good) a good projectile, a dive to beat out AAs, light ryuenbu which is good in blockstrings due to pushback and her normals, and her EX ryuenbu is +8 on block. Her EX super is good for getting through projectiles as well.
@sundowniseeu The art from the character itself I don't see problems. But in game her forehead looks too big. I love this games designs, but the girls heads looks a lil bit off '-'. And as you said most of them look to have the same issue D:
