  • 8 pad base ?

  • please name of the base ?

  • aye vans beat i like to start off by saying good music an thanks for sharing ur knoledge

  • beautiful.

just one thing, this goes to everyone, when you make beats, how do you come up with the melody? do you base it around another instrument or do you just sort of 'fill in the gaps'? i cant come up with any melodies 'cause i think there really bad when i do them -.-

  • GENIUS! I subscribed. Excellent tutorial. When you added that bass, I was like..yeah, this dude is dope.

  • well done

  • Your a boss, you got mad skills

  • Good video man. Lots of good pointers especially for beginners. Thanks

  • CHECK OUT MY BEATS!!!

  • Dope Video Bro :) Tnx for lesson :)

  • that music of your samples soul where I can download it...........

  • That was a nice tutorial thanks I just learned a lot you explained it perfectly.

  • I respect this!!!

  • nice vid, checknsub me HQ FL studio beats

  • Can you do an in-depth video about filtering samples, to create bass with the sample itself... I'm using FL Studio 9, and I'm trying to figure the filtering thing out, your video is by far the best and easiest to understand, most other just do it, and not explain why they did it, or what it was on the filter they used in order to make it sound professional...

  • I just now am getting into sampling beats, and I gotta say, this is one of the most genius sample of a jazz song I've ever heard. Props to you, bro.

  • Keep it up, Vans.

  • great tips thanks!

  • r u VANS from ROCBATTLE?

  • Just wanted to say thanks for your videos, there well put together and cool to watch,I'm a producer here in London (England),I've been producing for a while and it's nice to see someone making nice beats with a positive attitude.

  • yo vans add me to your facebook hommie george holley !!!

  • this sample 's been used back in the days by french group called X-MEN, real french heads will remember it ! check it here if your curious: watch?v=CcruagwDC7c

  • At first when I heard that bass I was like OH NO but once you mixed the beat at the end I understood, you really opened my mind

  • Too*

  • To many people making beats these days, shit's lame

  • 2 dislikes. they just aint got the ear for it.

  • what's up man nice video I'm just starting out I'm using logic pro mpk49 & a mpd32 and recycle trying to learn how to chop samples do you have any tips to help me out with please thanks

  • Yo ! Look at my chanel some old school hip hop flavor ! Peace

  • fucking love that beat!

  • what is the name of the pad you have

  • everybody wants to be a kanye west or dilla

  • i think i can do way better

  • i make beats, but i use fruity loops, but i be makin that classic hip hop shit though

  • Good beat man,can you say me what is that software, and when can i download it(sorry about my english am from serbia)YO!

  • Yo, I just want to say thanks for taking the time to give some tips for producers like myself and I'm humble enough to take as much tips as I can while I'm still growing in this hip hop production. Thanks for also clarifying that it's okay to start off with the sample first that was huge weight off my shoulder. If you have time can you post some time stretching and pitch shifting tips and chopping samples with vocals which is my Achilles heel right now. Thanks again. Peace!

  • yo i am going to start recording and doing music soon and i want to buy a imac wich model is best for music plz reply

  • The thing is, is that I have a Kaossilator I want to record for some of my stuff. would that work for the Saffire 6? Thanks for all the help. It's much appreciated.

  • Does the track loop rate make a difference--like most of what I use are simple loops like every bar or 1/2 or 1/4 bar but how about like 7/16's or 3/16's--does this tend to mess up the sound at all?

  • Hey my dude, Love these videos, they are really helpful. I was curious though about your set up with your record player/turntable. Is that hooked up to your computer somehow? I'm going to buy one and I want to be able to use my records for some samples or to just play them through my computer somehow. Is that what you do? I'm just wondering your set up and what kinds of equipment you use to run it through your computer. thanks!

  • @MrGingyboo thanks man. my vinyl player is a stanton usb so its connected via usb.. the input in logic is set to usb in case i wanna recod records from it into logic. as far as my other turntables go, i just connect them with the normal mac input to record into logic. so then i just choose the regular input for logic.

  • @VaNsBeaTsVid awesome thank you.. more questions to come!

  • @MrGingyboo You could also just run your turntable into your interface. You might need a RCA to 1/4" cable. Then you will have the audio in your DAW for further processing.

  • @DJillogick Oh word, that sounds like it'd be ideal. I am looking to get an interface right now. Which one would you recommend? I saw VansBeats (sorry, dont know your name) was using the apogee duet, is that one a good one to work with?

  • @MrGingyboo Depends what you need to do, and what you want to spend. Apogee make great products, I don't think you'll be disappointed. A Focusrite Saffire 6 might be all you need, or you could get a MOTU 2408mk3 and get 8in8out and add a 24i/o to have 32 I/O. Do you need to record vocals? You'll need a mic pre as well. The saffire has one built in. It's all in what you want/need to do.

  • @DJillogick Ok well right now, I just make my own music through an mpk25, and I am looking to do vocals here at some point. I'm willing to spend upwards of a couple hundred on a nice product and I've done some research. but still looking. it's mostly smaller stuff to start out with, nothing too serious.

  • @MrGingyboo The Saffire 6 looks like it might suite your needs.

  • @DJillogick I mean saffire pro 14. Think yu can grab one for under $200. Check it out on youtube

  • /watch?v=Thn7BQRTeHk

    Sample already used ;)

  • 7:35 looks like you hit the pads xD nice work!

  • nice beat yo i gotta get back on my sample shit #devincifresh

  • Aiight!! I digs it

  • that's awesome!!

  • @VaNsBeats Nevermind the first comment, I didnt watch your previous tutorials. There is one other thing, what do you actually USE to chop up the sample, in other words, what plugin or other method do you use? Ive been cutting mine up in other software and they always sound distorted at the beginning and end. Thanks

  • @VaNsBeaTsVid Makin videos this way is A LOT better. This really helped me out. The one thing Im still wondering at is how you EQ your sounds. Great Vids Bro

  • a vans how do u do that without a pad cuz i use fl studio but i dont got a drum pad to play the samples like that

  • You're an amazing teacher and your english is good !! thx

  • @BlazedOfficial thanks very much

  • excellent video very informative!! keep up the good work and the track is hot. The bassline where or how do you make it sound that way, with the electronic feel to it.

  • i recently picked up a mpd and i wondering how do you play a loop the entire length of the song?

  • Thanks man ! this was very helful dope tutorial and awesome beat

  • How does it work with legal stuff about samples ?

  • @mitchel1611 ...2nd of all check out your channel and see how you do it better, right? Lemme see...

  • Thanks man, it was really helpful

  • DOPE VANS!

  • HEY Listen from 00:13 to 00:16 when he inhales then says 'how i do certain things like.' That shit sounded like he got mad flow.

  • def feeling the vid. would like to see more vids from u like this... its nice to see ppl let go a few of there secrets because it helps all to learn.. keep up the good work,, and stay on that grind. ./ pro

  • Good tutorial. One thing that comes to my mind is to keep the bass and generally all >100Hz sounds in the center. Big UP!

  • @VaNsBeaTsVid how did you make your mpd hold the note without holding down the pad through the whole note? If that made any sense. Whenever I hit the pad I want I have to hold it to get it to play the entire note

  • love it thanks man, keep them coming! have a question though: is the piano, bass and drum outta logic?

  • keep making videos this way its awesome!

  • Respect!!!

  • im new to logic, do most of the instruments you use on on a regular basis included in the Logic Pro? or is there a place where to get additional instruments for Logic? Great vid by the way, always diggin your stuff man!
