  • Classic

  • @suhi2008 The section from 2:30-3:40 is Sweet Tee - 'It's my beat', which heavily samples James Brown - 'Funky Drummer' from the 'In the Jungle Groove' album.

  • I think jeff won this battle hands down

  • @danw1374 YES!!...I have this record in my collection!!!

  • @DjCantFuckinMIx Good man keep hold of it ! i wish i still had this but was forced to sell some of my vinyl when i was hard up, ffs big mistake ! its a classic piece of hip hop history and id imagine rare by now :-(

  • @danw1374 The copy I have is in mint condition....I brought it from a charity shop years ago because I wanted that Triple M Bass tune.......I dont really look at my vinyls as costing X amount, I just see it as a part of my life and moment in history....

  • Does anybody know were that sequence from 2:30-3:40 is from?

  • @suhi2008

sweet tea - its my beat

  • omg ist das stressig sich sowas reinzuziehen nervt total ab

  • the dislike bar is as big as justin biebers dick

  • love the straight outta compton mix

  • Bad brother!!!!!!!

  • Now this is what Im talking about.

  • 1.23 - 1.59 ..Funkadelic - You'll Like It Too ...break .......cheekily replayed by a drum machine.

  • @mac.

    > he taught me personally!

  • this man taught me the transformer scratch 23 years ago. i`ve been rocking it every since. he`s the best dj there is!

  • @schgoysius67 I agree with you, I was saying that back in 1986. He was light yrs ahead of anyone else at every single scratch technique and this still sounds incredibly impressive and musical. In fact I haven't really heard many Dj's in this league other than say Mixmaster Mike, Aladdin, Tat, Cash Money's early work and although Q-Bert is considered the best I don't think he is anywhere near as musical minded or exciting. Did you mean Jeff taught you personally or did you learn from his records?

  • I own a copy of this 2-record set and he blew Chad out of the water.

  • @Emersonstory Yea I got the double set as well, and he murdered that kid

  • How come I have this on a break record? Did they do on records what theye do on cd's now.

  • oh my goodness! i still have the chad jackson and dj cheese volume on vinyl to this day! id love to get volume 2 tho, anyone know where i could possibly get it in the liverpool area?

  • @bluescousa HTFR.com maybe?

  • I used to have this record..think it came out in 86

  • i had it too , the dj cheese and chad jackons mixes were hot too ,

  • Very creative use of scratches as per usual from Jeff. A lot of Dj's today keep using crab scratches to death and it gets difficult to tell them apart. I can tell Jeff's scratches from a mile off.

  • @maccagrabme I agree. The man has a signature style.

  • Jeff walked over Whizkid with this mix, awesome upload ;)

  • @ltw07 not only did he walk over Whizkid but he left Dr Martin inprinted on his forehead!

  • WHOA! piece of history right here masterpiece upload thanks

  • awsome been tryin to find this for ages

  • This is vintage J. Jeff...NO QUESTIONS!!!

  • Jazzy Jeff is alive and producin' in philly

  • back then i think dj"s used to use the phono/line switch to do there transformer scratches , well i used to .....

  • me too

  • What year was this? Had to be between 86 & 88. Love the way the transformers sound without the curve control. This is what hip hop USED to be. I miss these days something awful.

  • 1987 this was, 22 years ago how time flys! i got this album on vinyl and the 86 one dj cheese vs chad jackson,

  • yo ! can you load the mix of Cheese vs Cad ?!?

  • "mic sounds nice, say what:?"

    awesome.

  • I remember trying to figure out how jazzy jeff scratched the salt & pepa intro ( my mike ) causing the sound to bend on the m.Jeff & whiz kid were also lyric juggling.

Do you have bust a move by stetsonic?. If you listen youll hear

dj prince paul doing what they now called flares in 1986 before djs began revealing naming & claiming authorship of scratches.

  • Ive got all 3 battletrak albums.

The cj mackintosh v streets ahead was my fave.

you can see that having some studio & production experience gave you an advantage in the mixes especially the chad jackson v dj cheese set.

ill never forget the 1st time i heard jeff transform fresh on a mixer with no fader / volume curve it sounded so precise.

dj whiz kids( rip) mix was too old school & made him sound very inferior to jeff.
