  • for fuck sake.............why cant you post it properly.......not from a tv video shot...pile of shit

  • great scene, and did you know that Hoskins and Brosnan have never met, their scenes were shot on separate evenings with the camera man sitting where Hoskins is for Brosnan's medium close up pointing the gun and for the reverse angle the camera man is where Brosnan is, the two actors were not on set at the same time, the language and magic of film makes them appear to befacing each other of course.

  • rambo4229 are you serious lmao the IRA would destory any small time london gangster haha they got RPGs bombs AKs connections around the world you think some criminal from london do anything lol toolbag

  • One less loose woman as the macho Irirsh men say.

  • Thats brilliant acting by Pierce with the eye movements, non verbally and clinicallly seeking assurance of the car balance. Brilliant response too.

  • Like I say, Irish men don't chat like Joe Peshi. They do. Goodbye but think about your lack of God and behaviour. So brilliant. Xo cool.

  • So unanswerabally cool.. You don't mess with the clinical big boys. Great acting all round.

  • a tru fucking gangstar classssssssssssss film

  • a tru fucking gangstar the i r a wud have no chance to take a london gangstar so dreem on skum i r a

  • lmfao are u a retard or what hahahaha

  • pierce brosnan looked so damn cool emerging from the seat with the silenecer with a smug look...classic

  • I thought Pierce was scarier when he sang in Mamma Mia!

  • the expression on he's face you can tell he is fucked. he cant walk away from this

  • deffinately , absolutely brilliant acting . His face says it all , just the sort of gritted look a frightened hard man would have.

  • no matter how hard a gangster from london is and that people are scared of them. theres no way gangsters could ever fuck with the I.R.A there way more dangerous than gangsters from london

  • Word to the wise, don't ever fuck with the Irish!!! TA, SQ, Mass.!

  • Exellent film.

  • I loved the ending. One of the most memorable ones to date.

Certain things stand out to make the ending extremely compelling.

    1) Bob Hoskins as Harold Shand. His emotional state and facial expressions are superb.

    2) Director John Mackenzie's eyes in the mirror as he is driving the car.

    3) Pierce Brosnan as the Irishman with his evil smirk.

    4) The music is astounding. (anyone know where to download it?)

  • Ditto! Spot on comments. The best ending to a film ever, the music is outstanding.

  • the guy driving the car is an Irish actor called Daragh O'Mally

  • @Porgot138 You can get the music with a 2-disc Special Edition DVD release (steelbook) of the film. :)

  • The guy driving the car is the director John Mackenzie.

  • its the irish who take him i should think there goning to take him somewere quiet and kill him in the coutry thats how the ira works

  • Can someone please explain the ending to a "Yank"? Many Americans think the American Mafia captures Hoskins at the end, but others say its the Irish. Neither makes sense to me. If the Irish are capturing him, why didnt they just finish him off at the races? And if its the USA, what do they have to gain?

  • its the IRA that kills Bob Hoskins

  • @TheMorrisseyMan well thats news Geezus........if anyone didnt figure that out they must be as thick as you.............

  • @jcw001 that makes no sense. if i was thick then how can i figure it out? i suggest u learn to structure a proper insult and then speak : )

  • it's the i.r.a. that get him. peirce brosnan appears earlier in the film as the assassin who kills harolds gay friend. the reason they dont kill him at the stock car race is they assume he is there to buy them off and he has their local commander killed instead.

  • Thank you.

  • did ya record this of your little tv?

  • Classic. Still cocky even in the worst situation.

  • they all went dogging in hyde park after the kidnaping but they didnt show that part

  • great movie !!!

  • legendary

  • A classic ending to a classic film. They don't make em like that any more. One of the best british films and one, if not the best gangstar film eva. LOVE IT

  • Watch Hoskins acting.. the relaxation in the face when it dawns on him, quite brilliant.. so much said without a word being spoken, the last few minutes are just fantastic..music, etc

  • i say

  • Is there a soundtrack available; yep superb melodrama; one of the best films ever;lovely parody of 'London Underground' life in the good old days..

  • tbh i didnt think the film was all that, pretty overrated, but bob hoskins acting was amazing, and this last scene is one of the best in films

  • Pears,pierce what ever. macphisto80 dont let it keep u awake at night i dont..Whos macphist..its MR 2u

  • wats wrong with hoskins teeth

  • Not only is that Pierce Brosnan with the gun, but the driver, whos eyes are his only visible part, is Daragh O'Malley who played Sgt Harper in the "Sharpe" series

  • Actually the driver is John Mackenzie, the Director.

  • you could be right, but according to imdb, he's billed as 2nd irishman, with Pierce as 1st irishman

  • Daragh O'Malley was the second Irish man at the pool when the gay guy Colin gets stabbed. According to the commentary section on the DVD, Pierce Brosnan said that John Mackenzie the director actually was the driver for the final scene.

  • Actually the driver is Daragh O'Malley

  • No, Daragh O'Malley was the 2nd Irishman at the pool (Brosnan was the 1st) who holds "Colin" (Paul Friedman) while Brosnan stabbed him to death. John Mackenzie, the Director, did the driving of the car in the final scene. I have the DVD with the commentary on it and Pierce Brosnan said that John Mackenzie drove the car. Mackenzie filmed the sequence in two parts - the first with Brosnan in the car and afterwards with Bob Hoskins.

  • what a legendary ending, awesome film, of course well well acted

  • a flippin exceptional demonstration of how beautifully the right soundtrack can compliment a top draw movie. something not quite right about Hoskins mouth and teeth in the final scene but who cares.

  • The best British gangster film by bloody miles. Hoskins is just brilliant.

  • Such a great ending to a great film. I'll always remember Pierce Brosnan's end bit there. Fantastic!

  • definately the best british gangster movie ever made, Hoskins at his best & a blinding soundtrack ..God bless George Harrison for putting up the money, no-one else wanted to touch the film.

  • yeah i love the music brilliant

  • classic scene from a classic movie, love those faces Hoskins pulls at z end...real bull dog.

  • Look real close, folks. That's PEARS BROSNAN in the front seat with the gun. in his pre BOND days.

  • Who's Pears Brosnan? I take it he likes pears, then?

  • Yeah, it's always cool to see middle-aged actors in their yougng days.

And damn, Pierce was hot in this movie. :D
