Alas, you should probably do a little research before posting and showing foolishness.

The quad contains a parallax controller, GPS, Digital Compass, etc. It's fully autonomous-capable. They are amazing platforms for mapping and exploration in hazardous environments, such as in rescue and in mining.

Please learn some critical reasoning skills before it's too late.

Its damn fast for something that will be an autonomous robotics platform, anything faster would be dangerous.

It has more carrying capacity than an RC truck, and it would not be a bad platform for military / scientific research.

Also the hydraulic drive system makes for precise, predictable, continuous control and flatter torque curve (probably) - all very good for a mobile robotics.

They should have showed it in the grass though.

yea, It is geared to go slow because if it went fast the sensors couldn't keep up and it would hit things once it did start being automated. I just meant it wasn't fair to judge it as an RC but your absoloutley right.

It goes slow because it is designed with a hydraulic drive train system. At a 3k price tag, I don't think it is going to be very popular and I'm a parallax supporter!! Its different in the robotics area but way too expensive, I could build something that does similar for much cheaper, ntm designed the way I want which would make it more worth while.

But then you wouldn't get the hydraulic transmission! That's the whole point...they're amazing for low end torque, unlike normal transmission systems. Unfortunately, they get inefficient at higher and high speeds (read fluid viscous shear effects, mainly) and so you just design it so it just doesn't go that fast. My senior design is effectively a full-size car version of this.
