  • im with megamoo flobots IS a catagory

  • Hahaha holy shit, when he does that little rap about his influences it's a part from a song called, "S.P.A.R." on one of the first albums he ever made... I can't believe no one's caught that yet and this video's been up for 2 years.

  • go flobots all the way

  • Who gives a about categorizing? Lables only make us avoid things we shouldn't.

  • jonny 5 is a beast his flow and voce go together perfectly

  • Did he say he was influenced by the band "twiztid"? that ICP/ psychopathic records bands? starting 1:12

  • Yea he did and that's fucking sweet.

  • I think he said Twister

  • we need to get the radio to play their other songs

  • their expermental they do what they fell

  • this is one of those bands that you have to see live to really appreciate how good they actually are, yes the recorded versions are awesome but live is different altogether, i hardly new them when i saw them supporting rise against the other night and they really made a scene, really thought provoking lyrics and a really good feel to their music.

  • Hell yea saw them in Detroit. Best show I've ever been to

  • i really hope they well bring light to this situation of courruption...trust me..i dont live in the best neighbor hood and..i felt the affects of the reccicion

  • they are too good to be categorized

  • Oh man. they don't really have any categorization. All their songs on their first album sound different. Some are energetic and funky like Combat and some are mellow and thought provoking like Handlebars. I say they sound tons like Cake. Alternative Rap, maybe? Rap n' roll?

  • Old comment but I'll still comment. I always thought they sounded like Cake. Even his voice kind of lol

  • OMG!!!! i've got it !!!!!! this is the first born ROCK -HOP band !!! that's right Rock-Hop!!! It's about time !!!! these guys Rock the show!!!!

  • so what was Cypress Hill? :P

  • Cypress Hill were and are far far from these guys,Get a grip Dont get me wrong I love Cypress too .... but they are just another rap bad with not much more to say other than shooting guns robbing and smoking weed.........FAR FAR FROM THE FLO-BOTS

  • i never said i was a cypress hill fan... :x

  • i hope thy make new songs thy rock!

  • the pattern on handlebars in definitely heavily influenced by eminem, it has his structure and flow spot on. The rest of their material seems pretty much unique. I've been listening to them for a few days but something about them seems somewhat watered down or maybe thats because I'm too much in awe of dead prez, fuck knows

  • dude!! i just tot of the same thing, this rhythm and tune is catchy, but isnt this like somewhere in eminem's songs? haha, its totally em's style.

  • there is so much music out there that is similar to them, they're not all that unique, but they are the only band of there kind to make it into the mainstream. and they are seriously good :)

  • mf doom is fuckin sick. and i remember when busdriver was on the t.h.u.g soundtrack.

  • gobble up you did. you sure did.

  • uh he cant freestyle of what ever that was@! lol

  • they sound like a slightly slower, softer version of Chronic Future. Just listen "Time and Time Again" or "New York, NY"

They are also awkwardly labeled Alternative Hip Hop + Alternative Rock.

  • it does kind of sound like chronic future. They were alright too. I listened to their cd more than a couple times.

  • flobots IS a category

  • too political for my tastes but a few good songs.

  • I got fight with tools, and it pisses me off that all these guys are known for is handlebars, they have so many other great songs.

  • Well, at least they're known now...they're a good band, and I love them, but if they didn't want to be in the eyes of mainstream just a little bit, then they wouldn't have created a single like "Handlebars," or come out with a second single like "Rise."

And, now that they ARE known, people will know to look for them and pick up some of their vintage stuff. We're not all as classy, artistic, and "indie" as you.

  • haha funny thing is the first time i heard "handlebars" i thought it was cake

  • conscious hip-hop + classic rock + classical music = flobots.

  • they dont need a category.

  • Saw them live a few weeks ago. It was awesome.

  • wow i already loved these guys but the fact that he listed mf doom and lupe as influences made me like them even more.

  • these guys rae too fuckin cool.

  • Seen them on TV, cool band.

  • These guys are talented.

  • and girl
