Hahaha holy shit, when he does that little rap about his influences it's a part from a song called, "S.P.A.R." on one of the first albums he ever made... I can't believe no one's caught that yet and this video's been up for 2 years.
this is one of those bands that you have to see live to really appreciate how good they actually are, yes the recorded versions are awesome but live is different altogether, i hardly new them when i saw them supporting rise against the other night and they really made a scene, really thought provoking lyrics and a really good feel to their music.
i really hope they well bring light to this situation of courruption...trust me..i dont live in the best neighbor hood and..i felt the affects of the reccicion
Oh man. they don't really have any categorization. All their songs on their first album sound different. Some are energetic and funky like Combat and some are mellow and thought provoking like Handlebars. I say they sound tons like Cake. Alternative Rap, maybe? Rap n' roll?
Cypress Hill were and are far far from these guys,Get a grip Dont get me wrong I love Cypress too .... but they are just another rap bad with not much more to say other than shooting guns robbing and smoking weed.........FAR FAR FROM THE FLO-BOTS
the pattern on handlebars in definitely heavily influenced by eminem, it has his structure and flow spot on. The rest of their material seems pretty much unique. I've been listening to them for a few days but something about them seems somewhat watered down or maybe thats because I'm too much in awe of dead prez, fuck knows
there is so much music out there that is similar to them, they're not all that unique, but they are the only band of there kind to make it into the mainstream. and they are seriously good :)
Well, at least they're known now...they're a good band, and I love them, but if they didn't want to be in the eyes of mainstream just a little bit, then they wouldn't have created a single like "Handlebars," or come out with a second single like "Rise."
And, now that they ARE known, people will know to look for them and pick up some of their vintage stuff. We're not all as classy, artistic, and "indie" as you.

they sound like a slightly slower, softer version of Chronic Future. Just listen "Time and Time Again" or "New York, NY"
They are also awkwardly labeled Alternative Hip Hop + Alternative Rock.

it does kind of sound like chronic future. They were alright too. I listened to their cd more than a couple times.
