I think it's important to remember how closed off the last administration was. They infrequently gave press conferences, silenced those who disagreed with their (singular) point of view. And the outing of a CIA agent was a rebuke to one who would disagree. Outing a news station for being biased is hardly a match for jeopardizing the safety of a CIA agent and those she had talked to.
