  • Ive played A LOT of MMOs and none of them have the community that DAoC did. Sure you got your guilds and fleets and what nots.. but DAoC had a massive amount of friendship and respect across all realms and across all servers that has not been seen since. DAoC brought a rare breed of gamers together... when the dust settled at the end of the night, your in game foes were your best friends. I really miss that in todays games.

  • Seems like no game or game community will never be like Daoc Galahad. I remember roaming Emain with Reyez and Teletha like it was yesterday. Reyez smacking people with his nasty hammer and Teletha keeping everyone else Zzzz'ed.

ps: We miss you to Hydro. And everyone else that played on Galahad, even the albs.

  • this was one of the greatest things we have ever done...much love for all... never found another game that meant as muchas DAoC did... miss you all. Eternalshadows

  • Amazing job on the memorial. I cant believe how organized it looked and how people had so much respect to follow orders to stay in line.

very well done she would be proud

  • I was in game at this event ....yes it was laggy, and yes we pvp'd a little bit afterwards, but honestly it was the most epic thing I ever was a part of in an mmorpg. Thank you Kallisti!!

  • this is so amazing and heartfelt. i played daoc for about a year and a half and i had such a great experience, but my online friend started playing WoW againa nd I endded my daoc subscription. But from my memories there, it was such a helpful and great community. :D

  • heh man, this video still gets to me. But I agree with the masses. the DAoC community is probably the best out there. Even to this day, through the rise and fall, and rise again of the game, clusters and mergers, this game is in my opinion the best out there. It has been and most likely always will be the base of my comparison to any MMO out there.

  • nvm my last comment i didn't watch the vid until the end

  • did they make an in game grave or a tomb for her character?

  • Watched this today for the first time in a long time and sat in my office with tears streaming down my face...

  • @KallistiUK

I enjoy watching these old videos. Shows just how much we are missing with todays generation of games and gamers. It makes me sad, yet proud I got to share the experiences.

  • This is why I've never liked any MMO as much as DAoC. The kind of community that once was in this game is really non-existant in MMOs nowadays. May she R.I.P!

  • OMG this is the saddest video i ever seen :( may SHE R.I.P !

  • Es ist immer wieder beeindruckend!

  • Every time i see this video i feel a blade inside my heart :(

    GL Teleteha.

  • DAOC was the first and last game that i felt complete joy and pride to be part of. We will all be lucky if we should experience something like that again in our lives.

  • this video is an example of what kind of heart that game had and what it did for its players

  • I remember this

    Rip

Galahad mids - will always be in my memory

    the best mmorpg ever :)

  • how did they know that she died

  • @ilyaz619 Enough people knew her in Real Life to know it wasn't fake.

  • @ilyaz619 yes, there was a time in a mmo where people met in RL for fun and get friends in RL. This time was DAoC ;) the best online time in my whole life....

  • It´s a wonderfull vid. R.I.P Teletha

  • This was a great thing to be involved in!

  • good vid

Respect from Excalibur/Midgard, too bad the realms are empty now, had alot of fun in DAoC

  • @Room20 The realms aren't empty; with the server consolidation they actually feel kinda full -- lag ghosts and such. :> You should all come back and at least try the free trial if not resub.

I am a relatively new player at one year, so do not remember the good old days; but there is still honor there. The only place I've found it in a videogame. Rare anywhere else, too. I play Hib but lost my heart to at least two Albs who /bowed to me after killing my silly noob self in RvR. Respect.

  • unbelievable...friends and enemies alike all come out to show love for a fallen one.

i am absolutely amazed by the human spirit sometimes.

    5/5 ^^

  • that was amazing. you dont find that anymore

  • .War hammer watered all that down by making the game about gear plain and simple....I met alot of cool people in DAOC...alot more than I could count.

^^ You mean WoW watered everything down. There is no community in games anymore. You may find it in EQ, UO, in small areas of DAoC and LoTR but most games, players are about number 1.

  • I remember Teletha and Reyez, real nice couple. I pvp'ed alot with them back in the good old days. But i think my best memory of them was when we spent 1 week straight farming and camping stygia for artifact spawns.

  • I jumped from server to server til i settled with Galahad, by far the best. great game, missed that memorial. Still a great game. Zelthh Inf.

  • "You don't get respect like that anymore in an online-game. It wasn't like that back then, we had morals. "

the community was far more mature and close knit...War hammer watered all that down by making the game about gear plain and simple....I met alot of cool people in DAOC...alot more than I could count.

  • You don't get respect like that anymore in an online-game. It wasn't like that back then, we had morals.

  • Yeah. Now there's just nothing. All the good players left a long time ago. Solo fights are almost non-existant, honor is completely dead in nf anymore.

Either way. R.I.P. from Bodman 50 inf. of Killibury.

  • @uchiharyuuka34

"All the good players left a long time ago."

Not true; I keep meeting players who've been around since beta, or nearly, and they are damned good. :)

All games change, as everything changes; but if the best do not abandon them, they keep what is really important.

  • respect from bedevere mid!

  • her and I was married ingame on merlin server maybe 5 years ago.

  • i remember it just like it was yesterday.

  • Still make's me remember you teletha! i miss the days of the ole tele/rey duo's following alongside knightwatch. you really are greatly missed for not only your great skill as a healer, but your auru and great attitude towerds everything.

  • Very nice memorial. RIP Teletha

  • wow look at all the money mythic was making on subscriptions back then..

Great video by the way. I played Galahad for a very long time as well.

    Seratus Paladin - Galahad

  • it's been a while since i watched this and it still brings up moments of joy and moments of sadness. daoc has given me some good memories to cherish.

  • *cry* this movie is so nice 5 stars

  • UGH!! i miss the old daoc days so much :[ daoc really did have the best community n everyone was really friends.. and then EA gobbled up mythic and changed/ruined everything..

  • cool video my cousin places that game dark age of camleot

  • I was there. Seeing this brings it all back like it was yesterday. I do really miss the old DAoC days. Playing a game where everyone knew everybody and we were all friends, even on opposite realms, we were all in a way...friends.

  • miss it

    -portablehospital/physique/mrmedic

  • This is one of the reason's I liked and respected people in DAoC, it has the most mature gamers in it, not like WoW. A large reason I miss playing DAoC.

I didn't know Teletha myself, nor was I able to attend this event, she must have been a great person given the turnout for her memorial. I feel I missed out on a great friendship since I did not know her, may she rest in peace, and may her memory live on in the server and all the other servers as well.

  • god i wish i was there now this is so sad Dark Age of Camelot is one of my Favorite games and some of the people well most of all of them are very nice and have respect for a lot of people

  • I remember attending this. I even found my char admist all of that. DAoC had a great community, and I miss it very much :(

  • I shed a tear watching this, despite the fact that I wasn't there nor did I know the person.

DAoC had the best community ever and I miss it dearly:(

  • Anyone know which song the soft piano song is titled, and who the artist is?

  • That's from the first Enya album iirc.

  • Thats what you get when only mature players play these games.... respect. Not like in WoW.

  • awesome vid, such a contrast to that video of that dumb guild in WoW ruining an ingame funeral.

  • wow. so many people who care

if only Teletha was there to see it.

  • I'm sure she was, in one way or another:)

  • Wow... I miss the good old days of DAoC :(

Teamwork and coordination of this magnitude was amazing and I couldn't find it in any other game. I never got to say this back then but a big THANK YOU! for making my time in DAoC that much more enjoyable.

  • Really nice song

  • ah.. this movie is a perfection! beautiful! and, whats the name of the song?

  • The song is Watermark by Enya.

  • P E R F E C T ! O.O

  • omg i never new this happens when was it?

  • awsome only on daoc could u get people to work like this together especially old school daoc

  • wow...

  • A very touching video, she shall always be remembered :)

  • soo nice you did this, when I die make a video for me please :)

  • I grouped with Teletha in my early lvl 20 right outside Galplen, and I will always a tender memory of her and Reyez. It is nice that you posted this movie Kallisti, I hope you are doing well.

    Dzaileen & Gunnlaug. <Mithril Circle>. Midgard/Galahad

  • @dzaileen I miss all of you guys!!!!

    ~hydrogremlinn

  • From the very first time I saw this on the Kallisti website many many years ago, it's made me bawl my eyes out. The song is perfect and the procession through the snowy scenes is really moving. I've been showing this during my work related MMORPG presentations many times now, as an example of the power of emotion and bonding one can have through a game. That these characters are much more than pixels and polygons.

  • this is a very nice movie *CRY* COME BACK

  • That's really sad. Very sad. Good thing alot of people came together in harmony without fighting. Unlike WoW's funeral, which was very sad too, but the jerks ruin it anyway.

  • i remember that day.. now days if we do that we just get kill :(.. back then was the best of the best.. and become friends form other realms.. that was good i ws there.. but now :(.. no-body will ever do that.. everyoen will become back stabers to all realms and get there realm points for no reason.. but that day was all lag to.. on my computer.. i will /salute u to the end..

  • oh ya, Reyez = 1337 skald XD

  • Nazgorath - 50 Kobbie shaman - Galahad

Retired, that may change momentarily tho ;p

    I remember Teletha was 1337 heals =(

  • wow thats so magical

  • Omg?

  • i still remember this night, was amazing to see so many players respect the memory of a fellow player

    -orochimaru (highlander merc)

  • I played on lance and i even heard about this, was like the biggest one ever
