its funny, with me i was into ac/dc at 10 years old, then i got into old metallica as my first real heavy sound, then i became a die hard slayer fan because they were more extreme than metallica, then i heard cannibal corpse and deicide which are still my favs, im 39 years old. actually death metal and black metal came to me in the same time frame. i love the sound of extreme metal.

MF and KD developed the horror aspect of it and the concept horror albums that is used over and over again in black metal...that is why they are what they are, Venom isn't black metal they just created the idea for it but they are not a black metal band, KD and MF are but the truest of the first wave to be a black metal band, expand into thrash and create a new genre was Bathory.
