"The World Values Survey has consistently shown Venezuelans to be among the happiest people in the world, with 55% of those questioned saying they were "very happy"." Venezuelans have gone through hell and back more than once and are a resilient people and im more than proud to be one
Too late it has already happened. These kids will have children of their own, some day in their future, and just imagine what they will produce, and how Venezuela will become a cultural superpower.
Plans are to triple music for poor children to one million students. A symphony orchestra in each village in Venezuela.
The work of Abreu started many years before there was an American hating president. As a matter of fact Abrae is a doctor in Economics and his work has nothing to do with Politics. The work he does is actually a good way of integrating poor children into a higher educated society and preserving capitalism. Unfortunately there were not more people like him sooner in that country to prevent what happened there. Great work maestro and god bless your work and these Venezuelan Children.
I'm speechless. The best policy against social class inequalities ever. Artistic education is the best investment ever. Bravo Venezuela. From a sociologist researching social inequalities.
Remarkable for an American hating dictatorship! But so were the athletes trained under Hitler and communist Russia and their own brand of "the system", to make it appear that socialism is the world's cure for, and antidote to capitalism. No wonder Scotland (the land of people tracking spies), and Canadian socialist transplants to the US (and itschurches) would look to this secular humanist type of model of music training and not see the problem. Socialism has no place in America or its churches.
Mr Abreu must get the Humanities or peace Nobel Prize! He has done a lot thing for young people to make them to stay far from the drugs and he teach them music. they are very talent musicians but they do not have much money to go to musical school.
wow! So glad this was added. What a great high school talent. Gustavo Dudamel should be nominated for a Nobel prize for what he is doing..all we americans hear is negative about Venezuela not the positive things as this...bravo!
Dios!!!! Se me pusieron los pelos de punta!!! Sobretodo al final escuchando la 3era Sinfonia de Beethoven de manos de la orquesta y Gustavo Dudamel! Que viva Venezuela carajo! Ejemplo musical y social para el mundo!!!!
Absolutely brilliant! The El Sistema is so important to us all, we need to have this in the UK badly. It is clear for all to see the power and magic of music when it brings people together and enables those people to better at everything. Well done Jose Abreu!
