I thought that some of the metaphysical imagery was really particularly effective.
Oh, and interesting rhythmic devices too, which seemed to counterpoint the surrealism of the underlying metaphor of the Vogonity of the poet's compassionate soul,
which contrives through the medium of the verse structure to sublimate this, transcend that, and come to terms with the fundamental dichotomies of the other, and one is left
with a profound and vivid insight into whatever it was the poem was about!
We had as much light as we could get for this - one of the reasons I hadn't put it up until now is it's so very dark. We also put a small floodlight on the last one we made and it's still very dark. That's the trouble with very cheap cameras.
I blew snot at 3:45 mark, as it appeared the Olliemeister was miffed that he'd exceeded the limits of his improvisational violin strikings, ha. And seemed to offer to remote control terminate the video, he-he!
You appeared to strain at your chords while taking looks at a progression sheet at times. But I couldn't tell it was lyrically made up on the fly.
I remember seeing a mike and stand in a very old video of yours. Utilize it if you have the PA amp.
No I didn't have a progression sheet - I was just struggling as to what to do next. I don't have any sort of guidelines to playing the uke - it's just guesswork.
And I suspect this is a spur of the moment first walk-through without a lick of practice or inkling of what's going to be, as you two sillies are renowned for.
Did this without any pre-thought after messing about randomly with the violin for an hour - and then forgot about it again. I just looked through the footage and chopped this bit off the end. Same as most of our impro session - we just keep going and the last two minutes is all we ever seem to use! Most of them don't even get used at all. This is like all the Vada Riah songs - we just do them with no preparation and move on. Only difference is these are real words not VadaRiahan.
This was nice, but I prefered the sped-up version :)

Heh. Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings is my compass.
Eliseharris 3 years ago
Oh, well. I don't have another ten million years to wait for the readout.
acallaway1957 3 years ago
Very funny! I didn't figure you a Douglas Adams reader.
The second Google entry on her could brighten anyone's day. If not, the brain has gone flat-line.
majesticmeteor 3 years ago
Google entries? Elise has Google entries?
Oh, look at that, so she does. Wikipedia, IMDB, BBC...
Hmmm. BBC. I wonder if she could be the next Companion.
Elise, the TARDIS awaits...

I was referring to the Google entry on Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings, lol!

On so many levels, this is truly a case of the blind leading blind. :-)
Has the sun been closed for the winter in U.K.?

Maybe we don't know what happens when life ends, but we know enough to bury the deceased.

OK, well not everyone is going to appreciate this. Yes, the sun is off until at least the end of March.
Eliseharris 3 years ago
Yes. It's down here melting our brains. :-(

Ok, now we know. thanks for posting the slow version.

Has Ollie confessed his feelings for you yet?
That was pretty good for improv-playing.

Great stuff, duelling Banjos got nothing on that.

It certainly has to be your darkest offering. Is there not even a table lamp you could use to sprinkle a bit light about ?.

Ok. You tried , and that's the main thing. With no-one else having commented on the darkness I did wonder if it was a monitor problem at this end.
BoxChin 3 years ago
No, just a very dark house and a rubbish camera!
Eliseharris 3 years ago
would you like me to buy you a better camera

It will be all OK once spring comes and the light improves. And if we shout very loudly people might be able to actually hear what we say.

Bravo, quite pleasant, indeed!
