I don't like the noise or acceleration lag of the cvt tranny. I prefer an auto or manual any day. I might buy one tomorrow (the dealer approved me) and won't buy one if they don't have a manual.
i know i wanna put 17s on there lower it a little, but a tuner from sct in it, and do a simple air intake on it, maybe a K&N or something but the only thing that is stopping me is i dont know how well the cvt transmission will hold up
i like to play cat and mouse with my dad and my uncle and my friends, no one can catch me.....lol my uncle has a 2004 blazer xtreme and he just doesnt have the continouse high rpm so there a lag in between gears and my dad has a 02 mustang gt with K&N air filter and 40 seriers flowmaster love the car, and all of my friends have those older civics all stock except for those gay exhaust
i dont have any of the special features he says this car has, i have the base model sentra 2.0, im only 19 almost 20 and i love my car, i like go fast but as of right now im more worried about fuel economy and great car for when my baby is born next year. some people say this car with the cvt transmission is a pussy car, but i dont care if it is then it is, i like it because he is a fun car to drive.
I was wondering if the radio screen and the display between the tachometer and speedometer wash out by the sun while driving? They look like they might.
I just purchased a base 2010 Sentra (only way I could get a manual transmission w/o jumping to the Spec-R) and it beats the Civic, Mazda3, Cobolt & Focus hands down. For such a big compact car the Civic was cramped, as was the Mazda. The Focus and Cobolt felt cheap and nasty, heck my old '68 Bug felt more solid.
It is not a sports car or luxary ride, just nice, solid transportation that is good on gas.
I don't know about the person below but this was a great car. I had to rent one. I wasn't too excited about until I actually drove it. The CVT is not for breaking any acceleration records but it's a very solid driving car and very solid on corners. The interior was a cheap imitation of the infinity style but still pleasing. Probably not as fast but the ride is comparable to BMW3s and C class of Mercedez.
I just rented this car today. I have to say that although the CVT saves a lot of gas, it just doesn't have the throttle feel and you don't feel the steering at all. I had to flick it really fast when I took it for a joyride to even tackle a tight turn at medium speed.
It's great if you aren't a car enthusiast because it's nice and comfy for the price, but I wouldn't buy this thing.
but here in Brazil, the cars are kind of expensive... I paid 70 thousand for the Sentra S with our local money, wich is kind of 35 thousand dollars...
Mine has been very reliable--- I had probs with the tranny---- but it was my fault for coasting on neutral...."downshifting" with overdrive button when getting off freeway etc... =0) lol
I rented out sentra for a month. Pickup was the hidden surprise i have driven the new corolla and civic they come no where near to it. Its a pontiac with a japanese efficiency
Well, back before the the presidential debates and crap when the gas was really high, my mom traded in her 2005 Nissan Murano SE for a 2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0 SL. She knocked out American Engineering instantly (American cars frankly suck, it is just a fact guys), and she narrowed it down to a Honda Civic and Sentra for the sake of gas mileage. So she took my grandparents 08' Civic Sedan and found the engine seems to hesitate when you go up hills, and other things here and there. So hello Sentra!

One of the few spot-on reviews of the car. Too bad Motor Trend and Car and Driver suck off toyota and honda on a regular basis.
