  • @MrPissfairy Also, that is an 8' Western Pro Plow on a Tundra. THats nothing because with a leveling kit I've seen 8 foot X-Blades on the tundra.

  • You cant plow with a half ton you need 3/4 ton or bigger to plow snow.

  • @MrPissfairy No you dont, we plow 100+ driveways with 3 half tons...

  • back to the drawing board ...

  • left side broke

  • I found this video because I was searching plow wings. I made a pair that works the same way for my ATV years ago and was just seeing if I had something unique. One thing for certain, it does not leave any snow behind. The goal !!!

  • did he ever push snow ? did I miss it?

  • @livinintheleftlane

    @livinintheleftlane

Livinthefastlane, Yes. if you look at some of my videos you will see that there are several snow plowing action videos to see. Thanks!

  • that plow is way to big for that truck

  • The only thing I dont like id the cables draped across the whole thing, under certain conditions snow will stick so much you will pancake that flimsy tundra front suspention.

  • @jmac5058

Never head an issue with snow sticking to any part of the plow or attachment. Suspension actually holds up very well.

  • @jmac5058 we only use tundras now in our plow fleet now. dodges and chevys we breaking down too much. in addition, the 4 wheel drive on the toyotas is much better - all 4 wheels spin (not just front left and rear right) - we get stuck less and can push more snow. we put 7'6" boss V plows w wings and the suspension holds it just fine.

  • how much?

  • you use this tundra for commercial plowing and how dose do in the snow i was thinking about putting a plow on my tundra and do commercial plowing

  • Awesome plow wish.my truck sat a little lower.so I could use one

  • I think its a pretty neat idea...I don't understand why everyone has this all high and mighty I'm better at plowing and don't need this shit attitude...I for one do not plow...just wanted to see what the vid was about...and I'm sure if someone has a need for this product...it will do fine...hell most people can't get off the couch anymore...let alone design something useful and that won't break the first time out...it's made in america...not chinese bullshit we have anymore...bravo good sir

  • @vettelover2009

Thank you for your words of encouragement!

  • @SnowPatrol10 Not a problem...i just don't understand americas mentality anymore...instead of bashing someone for doing something innovative and being a critic...get off your ass and build something better if it burns your ass so bad...but...sadly...that doesn't happen anymore...

  • nice design from as novice tinkerer. i like the poly constructiion and the trip action is innovative, save a lot of nubs from bending the hell out of steel. wings. professional opinion, people that cant plow, use wings

  • @MrRockoalol

Thanks for the comment. Wings do have their place, regardless of whether you're a newbie or a veteran plower. If you can plow more efficiently and save time you're in effect putting more money in your pocket. And in the end, isn't that the name of the game? If you look at some of my other videos you'll see them in action and see that they do increase efficiency. Thanks again.

  • @SnowPatrol10 tried making any out of UHMH

  • @devonevans

Their actually made out of UHMW. incredibly strong stuff!

  • @MrRockoalol

That's funny... Anyone who's ever actually owned a snow plow company knows wings reduce time by roughly 50%. Practically every snow plow with a straight blade used commercially in northern states has wings. It's not an accident. It's $.

I'm not a fan of straight wings. Ours are adjustable and usually live at 45 degrees.

  • crap!

  • to be honest i dont understand the point. i go over speed bumps just fine, and when it comes to curb, sewer caps, ruts, or anything else i just slow down or lift my plow up a bit., like i said, i just dont understand the point of them...john q homeowner might by them, but guys like me who plow parking lots and driveways, they arent too practical... just tellin the truth.

  • @deliveryboy1

Its about doing more in less time. Contain more snow, Carrying more snow to designated stacking areas, few back ups to clean up trail off, etc Are they for everyone: nope. And definitely not ideal for driveways. but for the right application they are invaluable. are they for everyone? nope, but for the right applications they are invaluable. Check out some of my other videos to see them put to work. Hopefully they'll help understanding them more. Thanks for commenting

  • @SnowPatrol10 i mean i could see how in the storage facility it would be nice, a v plow could do the same, as far as wind rowing, i could see how lifting up one while the other is down could help prevent a wind row from peeling off the other side of your plow. i wish you all the best. i think its gonna be a tough sell for you. how much do you get for them anyhow?

  • @deliveryboy1

Thanks for the well wishes! A number of them were sold over the winter. Most locally and several on Ebay. Very good feedback and zero returns. All in all not to bad for a new product with little exposure. I anticipate a spike in sale next winter, we'll see. Again thanks!

  • @deliveryboy1 he making a point if you get hng up, the sides don't just snap off...

  • now you just need a real truck (ford/chevy/dodge) and youll be set

  • yea i agree he needs a octuplate turbo quad supercharged civic

  • not a bad design but its purpos is for pushing only...what do you do when the job asks for high speed windrowing?

  • @tscholent

Thanks! for wind rowing the wings can be held in a retracted position. Just lift the wing up until the stop/lock is behind the plow it will rest on the back of the plow preventing the wing from lowering. You can also remove the wings in under 1 minute.

  • good idea id pay about 400 for them but u should put it on an actual truck not that lil sedan family car

  • @steves7613 he needs a turbo civic

  • not tooooo bad of a idea needs lots of work though... you need lees moving parts when you plow lol all those pivot points i bet would freeze up

  • @mmiguy2306

Thanks for the comment. The final product does not have the small piece at the front of the wing, but even so, I've never had any of the parts freeze up or lock up. Very few moving parts really. Again thanks!

  • easy way to convert a plow to a box type but will they work on a fisher

  • @cpl14701

Yes, and they don't interfere with the trip edge.

  • @daisytest the white panels were/are prototypes. The final product is in black. Its easy to criticize not knowing anything about the product. The wings are made of UHMW. Incredibly strong, impact resistant, and resilient; not your typical "plastic". See some of my other videos to see them at work. Also not intended to replace the wideout, but rather convert a conventional plow into a box plow. Happy plowing!

  • @cementshoes07 -Not too bad.. I wouldn't pay more than $300 though

  • LOL, they do look bad but these were the prototypes. The new design are much cleaner looking and are in black. You can see them on find them on Ebay or on some of my other videos. Thanks for the feed back though.

  • Those work pretty slick, they look hideous though

  • I had a 2008 Tundra and was told no snow plows also. Although I see alot of them running this year with plows...I do not believe their suspension is set up for plowing very well...these trucks are pullers. I'd hook chains any day with a Ford. 5.7 's pump out 381 HP...most in its class period.

  • @cementshoes07

Whats it take to impress you? Constructive criticism alway welcome. Thanks.

  • I have a 2000 gmc 1/2 ton with 4 inch lift, motor is a 4.8 any problem with trying to plow with this setup.......thanks

  • They told ,me at Toyota not to ever put a plow on Their pickups, and if i do the insurance and Toyota wouldn't cover any damage.

  • @99MLSMediaGroup Shouldnt buy a toyota in the 1st place.

  • look like a really bad plow

  • Thanks!

  • @SnowPatrol10 too bad it'll never work though. You need a real truck that can handle that shit

  • The weight of that plow will tear that lil pickup up. Love the wings.

  • "The weight of that plow will tear that lil pickup up." It is a little heavier than recommended. I had to install a 2" lift/leveling kit on the front end (after video was taken). But it handles it fine and pushes snow really well. I've run a Tacoma (shown in one of my other videos) with a heavier then recommended plow since 01' and its really amazing.

    "Love the wings. " Thanks!

  • @SnowPatrol10

Glad everything is working out for ya. I want that plow. haha What does that plow go for new? I thought I read somewhere that it was about $6500 or I may be thinking about a different model.

  • Thanks! The plow is an 8' Western Pro Plow and it set me back about $4,700 installed. The box wings I designed, manufactured and installed. The cost for that I'm afraid to add up! lol.

  • They don't look too bad.... I love the truck though!

  • Thanks!

  • looks like a great idea. i need a set in stainless

  • Thanks!, Not sure stainless steel will work. Much heavier and less forgiving when it comes to impacts and such. The nice thing about the material I'm using is that it has a high impact resistance, it has some give/flex to it and will return back original shape, and its really light weight.

  • Those are actually pretty cool as far as prototypes go. When you refine their look you will sell a TON of them!

But the prototypes are ugly. :-)
