The top 1% of earners in NY pay 40% of the taxes now- the average person contributes next to nothing- instead of trying to milk those who have worked hard and sacrificed into subsidizing even more of your handouts, look in the mirror and blame yourself for not working harder in order to pay your fair share!!!
But if the taxes are at the same rate, the percentage should allow more. 10% of more is not equal to 10% of less. It's much more. raising taxes makes no sense because a higher income at the same percent is larger.
