Although these days, especially when certain stations do saturday night 80's mixes, they always play the extended dance version - I love it when they beat mix it in too - reminds me of my younger years clubbin. Other stations, when they have 80's flashback during the day will play this version (or the aussie one similar). Only seems to be 4MMM FM though that has the version. Thanks for the upload !!
Excellent! My complaint with the Shep Pettibone 12" mix was he removed Hook's guitar licks. This version, though shorter, fixes this oversight! Best version of the song out there.
@TranceAddictify this issue is the special promo mix used by Top 40 radio stations at the time. Since radio stations favored shorter length songs, they'd ask the record company to produce a special remix of dance charted hits so they can be played more frequently than they would normally get. Back in the 80s, radio was much different than today's demographic oriented music tastes. The only mix you hear today on any flashback 80s weekends is this mix, not the full length 12" single dance mix.
