The inability of people in those times critically to search for clear arguments instead of “beliefs” made them easily controllable by despotisms. Creationism is such dangerous, because it makes people being easily controllable due to the lack of critical intelligence and scientific enlightenment!
Going back to an awareness-level of the Middle-Ages is destructive, because the one who beliefs in the existence of witches and aliens begins rapidly to seek them inside the neighbour’s house. Fear before each other facilitated the instability of medieval communities.
The mentality asking for arguments enables self-assurance of individuals and productive success in a critical dealing with all these important cultural, political or ecological questions coming up in our societies.
