At first i felt this song to be about moments and events that are repressed, or faded away with time...about betrayal (in the "i dont believe in your hipocrisy" part), and loneliness...

Now, how do you get being drunk from all that? im a little confused. But again, musicians tend to add seasoning to some of their music by applying other topics.

This song takes me back about 7-8 years to a time in my life which I now look back on and realise just how short life is and how powerful, yet fine/temporary some relationships are.

@earthalien77 richard patrick also said in an interview that the bridge of the song, "hey dad what do you think about your son now?" he had gotten into an arguement with his father over the telephone at the studio right before they recorded that part. he punched the wall afterwards and broke his hand. he then refused to go to the hospital until they recorded that part because he wanted to use the anger in the recording. interesting little known fact about this song
