  • the last guy said it right

  • the thing that most sets dylan apart from cohen was that his involvement in the political predicament of the time became his main image in the music scene for a long time. he was exposed less subtly because of the nature of the time and that became his "role". some people take that as a blow to his "poetic validity" but he used his skill as a wordsmith to honourable use. i know cohen wrote songs with a political flavour e.g. the future, but cohens poetry focuses on the whole, on the human plight

  • 3:42 dylan wasn't a poet?! "I consider myself a poet first and a musician second. I live like a poet and I'll die like a poet." dylan was as much as a poet as cohen was! his lyrics CAN be read as poetry without music, because thats what they essentially were - poetry!

  • That is TOO FUNNY I was just thinking {whilst listning to some OLDER Leonard... I was thinking to myself, hmmm Dylan & Cohen have a few similarities, when it comes to songwriting and lyric formulationing.. lol, I really don't believe neither one was influenced by the other.
