He is such an ill-informed and racist jerk, who even sneers when he's talking - kind of like the Emperor from Star Wars. Furthermore, he puts no thought into what he babbles about. He merely parrots the talking points straight from Limbaugh and Beck. And armycavwife, not everybody in Savannah supports him. In fact, most of the people I know in Savannah can't stand him - and that includes military folks, too. They see right through the mindless faux-patriotism.
Liberals: Do a little bit of research and watch the live beheading, stoning, maiming, and execution videos by muslim fanatics on innocents. Talk to the families of 911 and the victims of Army Major Hassan. Then get on here and whine your pathetic asses off about waterboarding.
Show us how it's done, Billy-boy! Let that burly, bearded weatherman strap you down on a 2x12 and hose your rabid, Hitler-loving ass down in front of a camera so we can all watch you sob. We're waiting.
WTOC isn't horrible. And it's not an embarrassment to Savannah. Sure those things you say may be true, but the reporting and journalism is what counts. They have done an excellent job covering the stories in our area. That's why their number one. I don't like those editorials much either, but I don't mind anything else.
Bill Cathcart is SUCH AN ASSHOLE!!! Why doesnt anyone in Savannah complain about him? I live about two hours out into the countryside and I can only conclude that they like him in town.
LMAO! I thought I was the only one who thought he was so annoying....Everyday after I watch the news he would pop-up and talk on and on and on about absolutly nothing! But I still love WTOC though!
WTOC is horrible. From its middle school-level production budget to its outdated imaging and music from the mid/late '80s, it's beyond unwatchable. Add in Bill Cathcart's deluded ranting about how George W. Bush is Christ and his policies are scripture (and never allowing WTOC to air a counterpoint to his right-wing rhetoric), and you've got a station that's an embarassment to Savannah.
Bill Cathcart's on the City Council. No wonder the city never progresses - he and others want the 1950s back

Hi, WTOC staffer. Get back to making unwatchable "news" about someone's prize Vidalia onion.
I'll be watching WSAV. At least Media General, unlike Raycom and Cathcart, know how to prodce a superior newscast and television imaging, day in, day out.
Raycom knows what it's doing. The graphics are perfectly fine on WTOC, and the music's great. Why change it? And talking about music, you like the Media General package?
Yes, I do. Their whole on-air look, their presentation of news, and so much more keep WSAV head and shoulders above the laughing stock that is WTOC. If they'd stop with the "folksy" delivery, maybe then they'd have a product worth watching.
And as far as Raycom, yes they do know what they're doing - in other markets. I'm currently in Honolulu, where they own KHNL, the NBC affiliate. They display the NBC peacock logo and have a production budget larger than $10. So re: WTOC, Cathcart's to blame.
No. I'm currently here through March. I've lived in Savannah for pretty much my whole life, though, and unless there were definable changes to WTOC in the almost-a-month I've been away, it's still amateur hour on every level.
No changes. But I understand the things you're saying. Yes, they have this traditional/folksy way of delivering the news. And the way they use their graphics is kind of... well not up to par. But it still doesn't mean that they suck. Every station has a crappy side to them.

when you allow torture to take place anywhere, you invite it to happen back at home as well.
