Good to hear that you going to review it, ive been thinking about getting it to add to my 24-70 and 70-200
635g you think that is heavy then try the other two lenses i said, 1kg and 1.5kg :) I'm sure you can handle it with all those weights you have been doing :)
hi dom... i see that you are testing out the 5d mkII. have you started using it with any type of off camera flash? i'm curious, because i seem to be coming across an issue with mine and using the flash. i'll wait and see if you have any issues before i say what it is...
Hey Dom just a quick question for you. I enjoy the videos but do you have any idea when you will be posting anymore videos of photo shoots that you have done or are going to do? Like the behind the scenes and final processing videos. Thank you.
i like my 17-35mm f2.8L, its only $250 but has a lot stronger barrel distortion and pretty bad chromatic abberation at 17mm f2.8, however i got it for band perfomances which i usually convert to black and white anyway.
ya if you really want to give canon a try you have to try out there 70-200 2.8 is ii and some primes even there new fish eye is bad ass i really want to try there 14mm too.
How come you bought that lens for Canon and not for Nikon? You can use the adapter. Your 11-16mm is intended for full frame and I think usually at 16mm...
@ionixify The 11-16 is a crop frame lens but I've read it can be used at 16 or even 15mm. You wouldn't really use a G lens on Canon anyway*, only Nikons with aperture rings, and for video only. I'm guessing Dom is getting that for stills, so Canon mount is the way to go.
* Landscape photogs use the Nikon 14-24 G on Canon bodies, but that's because the Canon 14mm isn't nearly as good and they have the time to MF.
Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L USM II (is how it should be said. You'll get the hang of it haha).
You should try getting a 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM II. Thoses two lenses are 2 of the best lenses. Considering that's really the only Canon lens you have (well.. from what I've seen), you would really have fun with the others, because they feel so different from Nikon (I'm a Canon user.. but I've used Nikon). Enjoy your 16-35 haha it's a lens that is definitely on my list of what to get!
@BrandonKingVloggin How do they feel different? I know the zoom & focus goes the opposite way, but is the friction different? Does the weight balance feel different or something?
@Hynee Part of it's the design too (i mean overall): Take the 70-200 f/2.8 IS/VR II's from both and one looks fatter while the other one looks longer and skinnier.. I guess you just feel more accustomed to which ever one you shoot. it doesn't bother me or anything because I like both and I'm starting a Nikon collection soon too haha.
would you recommend this with a 600D?

Strange, I was expecting it to have a lot more glass on the front by how big it looked but the actual glass area is small.
