I don't think that this is Dave's morning show--they did an entire show on Late Nite (on NBC) in the format of a summer replacement show (I think they called it the "Summertime Funshine Happy Hour"). It is highly appropriate that John Hartford be on that particular show, being that he was a main feature on the most successful summer replacement show, Glen Campbell's "Sunshine Hour" program.
Always loved the song, Glen Campbell's pop version and, of course, this by the author. I feel like the guy who wrote it had an idea how it should sound . . .love 'em BOTH equally. As for Dave . . . he was and is the master at presenting the best talent of the day for our pleasure. He was doing it way back then in the 1970s and will be number one until he decides to retire. This is entertainment kids, the way it should be.
This may well be the only piece of video on the web from Dave's morning show of the early 80s. Letterman was brilliant then. I wish they'd release DVDs of the series.
What a legend.

Dad always said if John had to stand still & play, he wouldn't be able to play.
