I'm not about to say Nigel isn't right to critique her on the way she performed. That said, listening to these guys talk about how frustrating it is to see a girl get half of the equation right kind of makes me want to ask why this is supposed to be a life or death thing. Yes, I know their life is supposed to be dance, but MINE is gaming, and you won't hear ME trying to say the world will end if gaming took a turn for the worse.
@kdcuad2010 well... you're supposed to be looking at the judges - that's who she's performing to... they had a right to be angry... if you went to a show and the dancer looked out into nowhere and not you, would you not have the same reaction? they are there to perform to their audience... the whole point of dancing - entertainment
@rekupp I'm not saying it's about that either, but it is ultimately supposed to entertain the audience... looking away just makes it weird. Like anyone on here knows more than the judges, I think they know what's best for dance.
@scbaldwin13 I kinda agree, not entirely... Eye contact has nothing to do with drawing an audience... Its all about making a connection with the audience which is done by emotion, which is not eye contact. True the staring into space is not good, but def has nothing to do with eye contact... I came to realize this as an Artistic Director and witnessed a blind person move an audience so heavingly that the auditorium was in complete silence
@datsmydj07 It was not just her focus, the performance was not good ! Her technique and strength is really good but the performance was bad, he knows what he is talking about !
i really wonder if any of the judges have gone against what nigel says...cuz mary looked surprised when migel crtiqued her...he is an ASSHOLE

Well as a dancer you ARE suppose to really perform and connect to the audience...or your dancing will have no meaning!
i guess they were right about her dancing..it was soo good.but she didnt perform!

i agree.
her movement is BEAUTIFUL but she had no expression. the whole time watching i was just hoping something would spark in her face.
