you do realize the NCAA is forcing us to vacate that 2005 cotton bowl win(pending appeal). And after Saban wins 2 or 3 national championships hell be about as synonomus with LSU as Bear Bryant is with Kentucky.
Look I understand how bad we were before Shula took over. He made us competitive for recruits in areas that we never thought were possible (texas, florida, michigan, etc). But while he was a great recruiter as a coach he was Dave Blaney. Saban was Jimmie Johnson. Dave Blaney is good but he isn't Jimmie Johnson. Alabama is a winning program. It is a championship program. While I thank Shula for keeping our recruiting territory and expanding it, I am glad we replaced him with a better coach.

I still view Saban as LSU's coach.
The Cotton Bowl victory with Shula will still mean more to me than a BCS championship.

you do realize the NCAA is forcing us to vacate that 2005 cotton bowl win(pending appeal). And after Saban wins 2 or 3 national championships hell be about as synonomus with LSU as Bear Bryant is with Kentucky.

Look I understand how bad we were before Shula took over. He made us competitive for recruits in areas that we never thought were possible (texas, florida, michigan, etc). But while he was a great recruiter as a coach he was Dave Blaney. Saban was Jimmie Johnson. Dave Blaney is good but he isn't Jimmie Johnson. Alabama is a winning program. It is a championship program. While I thank Shula for keeping our recruiting territory and expanding it, I am glad we replaced him with a better coach.

On a side note, I lived in WA state when Mike Price was long time head coach of WA ST Cougars, which was the college that playboy magazine had voted for 5 staight yrs, the most beer consumed on campus, and everyone knew Price loved to party.
