It's not a US island. It's a British island. So there's no "giving it back". It's BIOT. (British Indian Ocean Territory) Blame British colonialism, not US Military. Also, do do yourself a favor and conduct some research before you post. It'll save some embarrassment in the long run.
Thanks for posting, I was there in 78' - 79', We bought San Miguel beer from the P3 squadrons and Diego Burger opened up, who had it better then us....LOL
It's about time you gave it back to the UK then, so that the islanders who were moved from there can return, and Brits can go there again - since the islands are Biritsh anyway. We are currently forbidden from doing so.
