Spot on: pity such brilliant satire will have absolutely no effect on the inadequates who were responsible for this sorry new "curriculum" which will result in an even worse educational experience for the next generation of hapless pupils.
After today's Day From Hell at my place I look forward to you making me a vid on the subject of 'ePIPS'. Joy unbounded doesn't come near to describing it :}
I'm assuming this is what you do in your McCrone time??? Well done that person.......Keep up the good work!!!! :}
Personally, I prefer to stay in ma bed and watch HeirHunters before strolling into work about half 10, having a coffee and bonding with the weans for just 25 minutes before it's lunchtime and time for another coffee. But then I only have a year to go to retirement......jolly good luck to the rest of you :}
I think of this video as a documentary rather than entertainment. I bet their meetings really are like this. CFE could be implemented though - just give all teachers about one year off work each and there would be time to actually implement it. Give teachers a handful of inservice days of paper pushing exercises is not enough.
Brilliant - just the kind of cross-curricular activity all our pupils should be producing! Haven't enjoyed anything as much in a long time (apart from the companion video on assessment) Full marks to justwannateach (which is just what we all want to do)
Lessons from the implementation of Standard Grade in the 80''s should be remembered. In maths, exams were ludicrously difficult (especially at Credit level) and there was very little teaching material available to deliver the new courses. It was a disgraceful mess for the first 5 or 6 years. So also was the implimentation of SCOTVEC modules in the 90''s.
Here we go again with ACE. No resources, no extra funding (in fact there are funding cuts), fuzzy and unintelligible guidelines. Poor pupils!
AifL & ACfE is pure and utter tosh. The "glossy" expensive folder had nothing at all in it. It is a ham sandwich, except there is no ham. The only people impressed by this are intellectual pygmies or self-seeking chancers who hope to jump another rung up the ladder by spouting this piffle. Tragically, the two categories above include a fair number of those who have not seen a disaffected pupil or , indeed, a classroom for decade(s.
This video says what the majority of teachers are really thinking! CFE is nothing new, good teachers have always linked their teaching to other areas outwith their own. This makes learning more applicable to the pupil's own life and allows them to see the relevance of what is being taught. Well done justwannateach!
What is wrong with us? As soon as proposals come forward telling us that the ball is now firmly back in our court we start looking for leadership!? SfE gives local control of local curriculum delivery back to local teachers! Why look for more guidance or leadership when the leadership it needs is YOU?
@Bregelad "the ball is now firmly back in our court"
Aye, right!
What if some of us now decide to lead by e.g. keeping Standard Grade and bringing it back to S2 (a route so strongly encouraged by the Executive until very recently), to stop so much time getting wasted in the early secondary years ?
"Sorryyyyyy - that kind of leadership will not be welcome, thank you."
Actually, the CfE may well provide a superb vehicle for cross-curricular projects, these are being produced by a worthy 'solutions provider' wee winston
keep your eyes peeled for the 'solution' which you can buy from me...
Am I the only one offended by this ? I think CfE is brill and that AIFL was such a wasted opportunity. I also hope that my comment is readable as I am doing it in green ink.
Munn had the same four-part structure for the curriculum in 1977, except that his was thought through, and expressed better. Nothing new. No lessons learned. Chanty-wrasslers, forward, march.
I am a parent of children who will miss (oh dear) curriculum for exceme^H^H^H^H^Hexcellence, but I pitty teachers (my wife), heads and generations to come. Will post links everywhere to encourage the education...
I hope someone shows this to the balloons at SQA, LTS, HMiES and government to hit home jusy how confused and cheesed off many staff are about this. Nice ideas... in practical reality...

I'm a primary school supply teacher. I'll be linking these excellent guides to CfE on my Facebook page - hoping the public see them.
The whole thing is 5-14 with seven more years, ten times more words and almost no clarity - oh aye; and a kilt on it since the SNP took over.
BTW, can one of the w-anchors who wrote this (below) to explain HOW we do it.

Brilliant.
Some of us can remember curricular churn even from the days of ROSLA.
But now the machine seems to have got itself jammmed on the fast spin part of the cycle.
Qui bono?

After a term of meaningless posing and empty words (again) the CfE wagon rolls on without a driver.
I love the video though - offended commenters should get a sense of humour from Santa...
