Bob Kulick was the guitarist who did the lead parts of this great song, including the solo. He had to stick to Ace's style of playing. Bob did a great Job, because it sounds really as it is like Ace who handles the strings. Bob did some solo tricks from Dick Wagner at the beginning of the solo. I don't think Rick Derringer was involved in this song.
I used to rock this one back 1978 all 12 years old of me in the mirror pretending to be Ace Frehley. some 30 years later I actually got the chance to meet and interview him in NYC.
That was one and only time I wqs ever star struck. I mean...this was Ace Frehley people!!
@MrGretajean Yeah man. Ace was cool and really tall I remember. He's a big dude with loads of presence. Shaking his hand was like crazy for me. BTW I am 6 ft 3.
I love this song. The last side of this album was always great. Rocket Ride, this song, so great. Love this stuff. Kiss was great. I feel sorry for folks who just "don't get it"!
Those credits at thee end of this are WRONG. Thee only thing Ace Frehley did on side 4 of KISS ALIVEII is Rocket Ride...THAT'S IT....Bruce's older brother BOB KULICK laid down all of those COOL-LICKs! LOL
@WolfeCoBen I read some place that it's a personal vendetta against the band. Apparently, they would not kiss ass or bow down to the "powers that be". So, as payback they are being kept out of the H.O.F. It is also said that for that same reason they were never invited to perform on Saturday Night Live. There has to be some truth to the story. KISS, has always been proud of their New York roots. But has never performed on S.N.L.
Happy Birthday Paul.

Why in God's name this band is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a complete mystery and disgrace to me.
