well honestly if you must know a 396 pushes about 400 stock but seeing how you really cant buy true 396 blocks anymore that are mostly just 400 sbc which would put out about 350-400 depending on who made it and to what specifications you wouldnt need to do much maybe just put a bigger carb on the motor to get it to push over 400 but anything more would require a rebuild and i also think this guy is talking shit because he never said what his motor was in

the lt1 was bored and stroked to a 396 with oliver rods and pistons idk a whole lot about it i sent the motor to dunlap and enginbuilder that builds the motors for 300 dollars u just buy the parts my cylinderheads and everything are set to stand a 500 hp shot but im not taking it there im happy with my 350 tnt wet kit if u like camaros look it to that kit you'll love it
