@a62010 my guess would be either you didn't put a thick enough coat of polish, or it started to dry, or you didn't give the magnet enough time to work =)
What brand base and top coat do you use? I've heard seche vite is really good at providing shine and drying fast but it is a little pricy. So i was wondering what you use, and is it worth the investment?
@xXElleN816Xx my base right now is nail life gripper, and my favorite top coat is seche vite - it's definitely worth the price =) & cheaper some places than others, I usually get mine from Sallys with the discount from my sallys card
@SimpleLittlePleasues Thank you for replying! This really helps. I think i will get some seche vite, especially since it is on sale at Sally's right now. Your videos have really inspired me to do some fun art with my nails!! =] Thanks
What do you think of the Layla Magneffect magnetic nail polishes? I saw them on Amazon while looking for Nails inc., and it seems they have some wonderful colors!
@AkaneKiryu I used a tester of the Layla magneffect on my mom's nail and it worked wonderfully, so I bought it. Howvere, when I got home and tried it on my own nails it basically did nothing :( Maybe has something to do with the amount of iron in your body?
@dysfunctdoll I bought the Layla Magneffect and the Nails Inc. as well. They are both wonderful, however, I do like the Nails Inc. better. I realized that even though they say you should pile on a LOT of nailpolish before magnetizing it, you really shouldn't. If you put too much on, the nailpolish will get attracted to the magnet and will actually rise up on your nails. Also, the dark parts will overwhelm the color and you won't be able to see the lines.
I had hoped you would have commented on my post about Layla Magneffect Nail Polish, but I can't find the post anywhere :( Any chances you'll be getting some and trying it?
Whenever I do my nails it seems like it takes too long to dry. I put on a thin coat but it still takes hours to set and dry and I alway end up smearing it before it sets. And help?
I'm curious... What do you have in mind as your next nail art/water marble tutorial? Can I suggest you doing a nail art tutorial on how to get pictures onto your nails?
@bananabieber11 I have several more halloween designs, and also awareness looks for depression & breast cancer =) I may eventually do newspaper nails which might work for pictures, but I've never actually tried them
Got a question..I posted on your last video showing the polish in action ..how it works...and that I have this too and love it..but you have longer nails than me and I have long nails..so how did you get the magnet to effect the whole nails...cause it is shorter really than the legnth of our nail.?
@KrissD74 my nails are actually about the same length as the magent right now, for most of them I just had to be sure to hold the guide very close to my cuticle - for my couple that were longer like my thumbs I tried to just center the magnet over my nail without using the guide =)
do any of your nails curl as they grow? I have two that do, could it be fixed with more moisturizer? I wish mine looked as pretty as yours. Love your videos, please keep them coming.
@PennyLester yes, I have a couple that curl more under than the others, and a couple that curve the the side - I haven't found any reliable way of fixing them quickly, although I can say they're better than they used to be I can't point to any one thing for the improvement =)
Do you use polish remover with or without acetone in it? I have always used ones with acetone and I heard the other day that it is bad for your nails. I do have a problem with my nails "peeling" (I don't know what other word to use to describe it) and I am wondering if the two are connected. I have seen the "naked nail" blog posts you do and they looks nice and healthy so I would love to hear your opinion/experience with this :)
@xlyerza I use remove with acetone & for stubborn polishes pure acetone. It can dry out your nails & skin, but I just always make sure to moisturize well when I'm done =)
@soulmatens there are some pics on my blog =) I don’t know when I’ll get to a vid but in the right sidebar there's a dropdown for my labels - look under the tag "my stash" & I think it's the 2nd post that will show up
It is neat that they are finally coming out with magnetic polishes now, i had swapped for some star magnets so I have the cool star magnet that I can use with these magnetic polishes because I am not as fond of the striped design, it is still cool but I prefer the star design
I only recently got into nail art. Its not a cheap hobby lol, though I am tempted to try this...16 bucks a pop is sort of holding me back though. Sheesh, that's a lot.
Mine didn't worked :( The design is very VERY light. I wish it could be as bold as yours.

and do you put a top coat before the magnet or after, or not at all?!
thanks for the video !!!

i looove this!!! 2 questions: should you put a base coat on underneath?!
and can you put a top coat after the magnet or does that ruin the affect ?? (or top coat before the magnet?)
xCherryBo0m7x 4 months ago
@xCherryBo0m7x I always recommend a base & top coat =) just let the magnetic polish dry a little so that you don't smear the design
