This show is epic. I love all the characters, but honestly, I hated that the blond villain died. If you're gonna adapt a book into a tv show, this is how it's done, by going to a reputable Studio like HBO. Legend of the Seeker was doomed to failure when they went to Disney. Pff.
The first episode was great, it would have been perfect if the "white walker" intro was a bit shorter and there was a flashback or two (kind of like the epic flashback battle in the intro to Fellowship of the Ring), showing a young Robert smashing in Rhaegar's chest with his warhammer in the midst of the river battle. It could have been done with a stand-in (they were wearing helmets).

I and both of my brothers each own a complete set of the Ice and Fire series so far). We don't want to be faced with wanting to read one of them and not being able to.

The young actor in the role of Bran Stark is absolutely lovely, instantly adorable. I just started reading A Game Of Thrones two days ago and am already half-way through the book (which isn't too bad considering the fact that I am simultaneously revising my own novel). I must say that I haven't enjoyed a series this much since reading the incomparable Dune series 7 years back when I was 18. Really very good! I hope the adaptation to the small screen does it justice.

So excited for both the show and Dance of Dragons. Although is anyone else pissed off that Daenary's has hazel eyes and both of Tyrion's eyes are brown? I mean its HBO you'd think they could afford contacts.
But I just read somewhere today(sorry can't find the link again)that they tried purple contacts for the Danaerys but apparently that didn't work out well for the actors. It irritated the eyes or they couldnt see properly or something.
@DaytonaDuck Contacts are always noticeable because the color is on the surface. It also reduces the expressiveness of an actor's eyes, IMO. I'm glad they didn't use them -- Actors not having doll-eyes is more important than matching every tiny detail.
This isn't free for HBO to make! If you want to see it keep going past a first season, get HBO and tell them why you are. Just torrenting the episodes won't keep it alive.

It HAS sex, it's not "about" it. This series has a deep, intriguing story line, if you can get past your prudence, you'll find you can really enjoy it.
Besides, it's and HBO show, I think it's, like, mandatory for it to have at least one boob shot.

So excited for both the show and Dance of Dragons. Although is anyone else pissed off that Daenary's has hazel eyes and both of Tyrion's eyes are brown? I mean its HBO you'd think they could afford contacts.

But I just read somewhere today(sorry can't find the link again)that they tried purple contacts for the Danaerys but apparently that didn't work out well for the actors. It irritated the eyes or they couldnt see properly or something.

@DaytonaDuck Contacts are always noticeable because the color is on the surface. It also reduces the expressiveness of an actor's eyes, IMO. I'm glad they didn't use them -- Actors not having doll-eyes is more important than matching every tiny detail.

This isn't free for HBO to make! If you want to see it keep going past a first season, get HBO and tell them why you are. Just torrenting the episodes won't keep it alive.

I absolutely love these books...I've read thousands, and can' t say with honesty that any were near as good.
I'm reading them yet again, and somehow they still keep me on the edge of my seat.
Ultra excited for the HBO depiction to be released.

It's really impossible to convey what the story is about in a brief trailer. Someone unfamiliar with the story may watch this and think "the guy who gets his head cut off must be really important."
