@eerawb Shane classed himself as Irish right enough - but if you look at the facebook/myspace pages of most of the Pogues they mostly identify themselves as English or British. Kirsty was English. Her father was Ewan MacColl who wrote Dirty Old Town. He was of Scottish parentage but was born and brought up in Salford, England. Salford is the dirty old town being sung about in that particular song.
